  • Off-road Granny gets triggered by a side-by-side while out testing the new Subaru TORQ locker.
Granny is a 1998 Subaru Forester that likes chasing side-by-sides over obstacles and long walks on the beach - blazing trails so gnarly, you'll want to turn your Jeep around.

But...but...that's comparing plums to bananas! And you should buy a Jeep if you want to offroad!
The Forester gets extra points vs the side-by-side for being infinitely less obnoxious to listen to on the trail.

You know what you really need is a rear E-locker. That autolocker is old technology and it's a COMPROMISE.

I see...you're mad because your e-locker sucks and is prohibitively expensive and/or impractical to acquire.

Thanks for sharing. The locker definitely helps you out. Nice seeing it in action. The Subie looks like a far more comfortable ride too.

Auto with center switch and rear locker. EJ25D...supposed to be 160, but probably a lot less

I always forget that they got the 2.0 Forester everywhere else in the world. We only got the 2.5 and 2.5 turbo in the states. Can't imagine how anemic the 2.0 is. We didn't get the dual range though, shamefully.

in Turkey we have all kind of forester, 2.0 and 2.5 and 2.0 manuel foresters have a dual range gear.

I feel like granny might have a bit of an advantage there. With weight and all, ya know.
