Thank you for your comment! When it comes to making miters, I actually use a different approach to maintain the benefits of zero clearance. I keep a separate set of zero-clearance fences for common 45 degree miter cuts. This way, I can switch them out depending on the type of cut I need to make. It helps to reduce tear-out and keeps the cut clean. Additionally, I sometimes use a sacrificial fence on my miter saw to achieve a zero-clearance effect for various other odd miter cuts.
