@TomsCoffeeCorner I want a Delonghi Rivelia thanx to you and some other site that says the milk temperature of the milk on the Siemens is a bit low. Delonghi is recommended by some shop owners as wel and comparing the puck you only pay extra for options on more expensive machines. I want that bean hopper so I can switch beans
Great Pacific Northwest here (Washington state). Picture and sound were good (except the close-ups). I just purchased a La Specialista Opera back in November (Black Friday deal) as my first espresso machine. I am SO glad that I did! As a newbie to making espresso, I found your channel and have learned so much from your super informative and helpful videos. I can say that your content truly helped me to really dial-in my pulls pretty quickly. Ever since, I have been making amazing espresso drinks for me and my family with the Opera. As a matter of fact, everyone has said that I am making cafe quality drinks that rival their favorite local shops! Not bad for a newb. Thanks and keep up the great content!
Hi Tom. Nice to watch you. Thank you for your help on Delonghi Dedica. I am Greek but watching you from UK, Wolverhampton. A barista for almost 10 years but not since 2015. Enjoying though the process of my beloved coffees (machiatto & Freddo espresso(the most famous edition for coffee lovers in my country)) when kids are allowing me. I wish you all the best, happy new year by the way, and keep up entertaining us with your videos for one of our Top pleasures in our Life Trip😊
I have the "Arte" version you talked about near the end of the video. I agree 100%, my grinder is on step 1 and I think I'd still go one or two steps finer if I had the option. Good to see that this new version seems to have a very much improved grinder.
I am not completely sure but maybe you could look into shimming the burrs. The grinder on the Arte may be pretty similar in it's build to the KG520.M which can be shimmed with a fitting sheet of some sturdy material in about 0.25mm thickness. ^^ You're basically upping the position of the collar by doing this, which puts it closer to the cone which is the part that get's adjusted usually.
Martensitic (not typically used in appliances) or ferritic stainless steels (e.g., 439 used in some appliances) are magnetic. Some other stainless steel (austenitic) can be made slightly magnetic through additional processing.
I am calling from S FL, USA. Love your videos. Sound and video quality are top-notch. Easy to hear you even when you were bending over to open the box. The sound level did dip a bit when you leaned in to show the portafilter. The video was focused throughout the depth of the area you are working in.
I also meant to mention the portafilter was out of focus when you leaned in. You may want to make sure autofocus is turned on or have a second close-up filter and something like a Stream Deck to switch to it or inset it to your main video.
Watching a day late from Surrey, England. Love your videos, just got a Dedica, based on watching your videos and recommendations 😊 few issues using naked portafilter though 😢
Very entertaining as usual. Saw you pouring filtered water using a Brita can ... I think a water dedicated video would be interesting explaining all about filtration and the effect on coffee but also appliances.
Great video. Wondering what your thoughts are on leaving beans in the hopper. I don’t like to single dose because of the convenience for the rest of the family, but I try not to have more than 1-2 days of beans in the hopper.
For me, I prefer to fill the hopper half way, and have the convenience of a hoppered setup. I doesn't take long in our household to go through those beans, lol. Cheers!
A big HI from Essex (UK). The LaSpecialista Opera is beautiful, but I would afraid of steps of hard water after using this some month long. Anyway, this year will be the time of replacing my 8 yrs old Magnifica to a newer one (Magnifica Plus) or maybe a Ninja. I have limited space in the kitchen (but I definitely want a fully automatic or a semi automatic barista style machine.. I will hesitate until the last second ha-ha)
Tom! Love the channel. Thanks to your reviews I am going to purchase a Dinamica. Where do you purchase your machines?....where is the best deal? Do you sell your machines or are you stockpiling them for the apocalypse?
Watching from Germany, thank you for your content. How do I know if I have to set the temperature up/down? Is it just a personal preference or is there a common way to go in the barista world?
It's interesting to watch your videos, and although I have a different coffee maker and grinder (Hibrew H10B & G3A), it's interesting to compare how you work and what results you get. Thank you.
Would really appreciate it if you could test whether the funnel weight is a must for the ninja dosing system I do feel it is as a broken funnel gives to much coffee dose So a 3d printed funnel probably needs to be the right weight
Watching from Switzerland - sound is good, picture is good! Good looking machine. Retails here for CHF800 (€840). The nice tight looks of an integrated semi-auto, always has me taking a second look. At the very least, it would save some surface space in the kitchen. But I do love my separate component setup for its versatility and precision 👌🏻👍🏻 I always wonder... how many active-duty coffee machines do you have in your place?? 😅
Hello Tom. As we say in my town "you are a machine." Hey good video, can you compare the Specialist de´longhi operates with the Sage Barista Express Iters and the Ninja Luxe Coffe Pro "Es701eu" or failing that the ES601? Greetings from Malaga, Spain
Canada 🇨🇦 🍁 The video camera goes in and out a little blurry so when you showed us the Porta filter up close I couldn’t see it at all it was blurry and not focussed but then the overall video is on and off a bit blurry so it’s not perfect like your other videos. I don’t know if you’re using a new camera? Or something different? It’s not a big deal it’s just your other videos were perfect clarity always but of course I’m gonna keep watching anyway because I love your videos they’re so informative and easy learning it’s really great 👍 so appreciate it keep up the great work ☺️👌

Tom, your delivery is terrific. Can you do a POV video of you preparing coffee for yourself on a typical day?
You had better experience than I did with this machine sent it back. I got myself a sage.

Do you prefer the classic barista express with the traditional tamper over the integrated tamper?
Honestly the integrated tamper is sweet to use, and keeps things cleaner.

Is the delonghi milk jug a good jug for latte art? The jug looks well made but the spout doesn’t look to have much depth to it
