I for one am grateful you overcame your fear of talking to the camera. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They make me smile. Watching your journey, how much you have learned, how far you have come on the land. The progress you have made on building a comfortable home and wonderful garden. Most of all the relationship with the animals. Kindness, building a community where you all help each other to accomplish task. 👍
I'm so glad you are here with us on this awesome adventure ♥️♥️
I am too, Sara is a great story teller
I love your story! Your determination, your skills, your deep, deep love of animals, your willingness to do the hard work and live a simpler lifestyle is remarkable. Watching Luke's skill and creativity with raw wood is inspirational. Thank you for inviting us in!
Thank you so much! You are so kind Susan❤️
I just love y'all sooooo much..everything about y'all..your community is also the bomb!!! If I was younger and in good health I'd try to convince y'all how helpful I'd be to your cause..maybe in my next go round..you know..when I show up to your place as a cute little piggy..you could train me to do really cool stuff and we could go busking in the city..I am musically inclined..see what you do to me? Dream big you say..or I could just love y'all from afar and hope for blessings to you in every way..my heart is yours..I'm so very proud of you two..ty..xoxo 🥰 ✌️
OMG, what a great video, love you guys, and will always love the awesome footage you bless the world with❤️
You are so sweet x so happy you enjoyed it xx
Baby Mollie was adorable!!!

I love your video, so full of love and joy in all the difficulties you overcame and the transformations you went through. It‘s a joy to see you being with the animals, close, friendly and caring. A heartfelt thank you for sharing it all from Claudia Hamburg/Germany.

Wow! I guess I started following you about a year ago. Thanks for sharing all of this, it puts so much into perspective! You are both lovely inspiring people! Look forward to your overview of year 5. You’ve accomplished so much!
We are so happy to hear this ,than you so much for taking the time to watch and send us a lovely message❤️❤️
What an amazing journey so far!!!
Hello I stated watching about two years ago and how far you two traveled is amazing and Molly was so cute a a puppy and now I see why she so close to Luke you saved her and cared for an abandoned baby and look at her now she is a lovely dog
Wonderful video watching your not easy journey of 4 years . Luke is such a hard worker as you are and the love you have for your family pets and them for you is a joy to watch and incredible. ❤
Thank you so much!
This has been a beautiful video Sarah and watching what you both have achieved in these last 4 years is absolutely amazing. I am so glad that you got over talking to the camera as your humour, enthusiasm and cheerfulness and banter with Luke and just being how you two are is what makes your channel beautiful. Keep up the delightful videos and I enjoy your company and videos very much. Have a lovely day. Greetings from the UK.
Thank you so much!I love your comment x x and I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed it ❤️❤️❤️
Loved this guys , can’t wait for year five 👍👍
Awesome x x we will have year 5 ready at the end of Jan 😀
What a great story!
This is like a feature film.
Brilliant!
Thank you so much for the compliment Isabelle
Waaawww the 4th year had a lot movement 👍Molly and Timmy....so cute together ❤ ooohhh and I remember the struggle with Wobbles 😢 but all end well, and now he is a proud rooster 🐓 and all the work you've done 💪💪💪 keep on going guys. You're doing great 🥳🥳🥳
I absolutely loved this. I don't normally watch 1.5 hour long compilations.
I like that trick you did with sprouting garlic before planting it! I'm going to do that next year. My garlic adventures are pretty dismal. Can't grow carrots or onions, either.
Did you ever get a name for the virus that nearly killed Pepper?
So happy you watched it all , yes it is very long but we wanted them all in one for new subscribers who don't have to watch hundreds of videos just to catch up on our lives and no we never got the virus name.
A loooog one but truly inspiring to see not only the changes to you land and life but the growth for you as a person ...well done
Happy to hear you enjoyed it 😁
This has brought back so many memories! Thank you for making this and sharing! ❤❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for always being there to watch our episodes every week ❤️❤️
A beautiful story and a beautiful life!
Fantastic! Really enjoyed watching this. You two are amazing! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just watched you both on Ben Fogle. An Amazing couple though Molly and the kitty steal the show. Very hard working and your friends are great, Nick getting that digger working was above and beyond. I hope you get the ruin liveable and would like to see more off grid issues like power and water. You guys rock!
I once worked on a goat farm in France, goats are awesome.
So happy to have you here welcome to our UA-cam family xx We are very lucky to have a lot of amazing friends around us . Nick always goes above and beyond I think you will really like his channel ❤️
Hello Luke and Sarah. Not only is your story amazing and your hard work and determination awe inspiring, this video is wonderful- you must have put many, many hours into producing it. We love it. Thank you for sharing.
Oh wow thank you so much it feels me up with happiness when our videos are appreciated ,yes a crazy amount of hours went into it mainly because my computer was playing up too
best watched on a cold winters night in the UK = it warms you up body and soul
Thanks Ben ❤️
New subscriber from southern England 🏴. Watching Ben Fogle NLITW as I type! I have so much admiration for you guys. I will certainly be working my way through all your videos. My father has lived in Salema southern Portugal 🇵🇹 for nearly 25 years. Beautiful country and people 👍
Wow! ,Salema is one of our favourite spots in the Algarve . Most of the south west anyway...so beautiful 😃😃
Wow, great video, lovely looking back, thanks for the memories ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Ah, dear Sarah and Bench Master maker Luke. Imagine how wonderful your story had made my morning feel. On starting to watch this summery of your last eventful years, it was difficult to
simply stop and watch all you have recorded until now. Maybe because it´s impossible to condense two peoples emotions into such a short time.
I think you should have both lived through the 70´s in your teens as I did. Yet I was never very good at traveling.
It took a while before I got to know which country you fell for, as I dived in from another life building film.
I thought it was France and yet the natural growth reminded me more of Irland. There too, you see many small Homstads remains left to crumble.
It was heartwarming so thank you, I will naturally follow you both. I see a kindred spirit in both of you, my sister in Sarah and I in Luke.
As an English Artist, I emigrated as soon as I was able to, to Sweden. It was not a choice, but where my girlfriends homeland was.
She made it very apparent, just how stressful London was for her.
35 years together, we separated and yet I was more Swedish than English by then. Now I have been retired next to a forest with a somewhat wild garden for two years.
I choose a tiny wooden house with open fires and nearly self contained. Own well, infiltration that is emptied ounce a year and my only vice being electricity.
Yet have been looking at converters and panels, they are expensive!
As for a few tips regarding your lessons in homecare issues.
1, Never put food out in mouse traps, the food is what invites them! Very funny seeing that.
2. Try burning the fence panels to blacken them, rather than throw money in paint at them.
Shame you had to go with such a huge fence for just pigs, a smaller area with a little chicken wire would
have saved you on gallons of petrol.
3.I could not understand why you were not cutting panels for a home, rather than the pigs? As you then had all the timber you needed.
4. If you are cold at night, you need only invest in a roll of plastic coated foil, it is used to lie on in the artic, so will reflect your body heat and is cheap.
Well these tips are my thanks for an enjoyable two films. I did see the clay finding one first. I do not think that clay was good enough to create a bond.
(I used to do Pottery) Yet, you need only dig further down in a more boggy area. Clay can be found near rivers and after the water diverts, you can find it just before the rock.
You will find plenty of info online for the best locations.
Hugs and keep warm 🐕🐈🐁🐔🦜🐗🐖🐷🌻
Hi Major!
Mouse traps were set (4 years ago) before we had Timmy. After seeing some in the caravan awning we had to get rid of them and we did.
Would have liked to have charred the fence but only thought of it after I built it and I didn't want to do it in sitio because of the fire danger here. Not sure what you mean about petrol? For milling the logs into a fence?
As for clay it is more about using something out of the ground that I don't have to wheelbarrow to site 😀 it is a decent enough additive to my cob mix to get more out of the amount of pure clay I have.
I could look for clay down by the river but I will have to lug it up and down hills for a good km.😅😅
Oh hi Luke, was only referring to the cost of the fence, as you must have used a whole lot of petrol to cut the planks. Mine is empty after a very short time. As you were tight I mean.
The food in traps was just info, I understand it´s an old film, yet still applies next time you have a leaky kitchen in a caravan! I understand you want to avoid as much labor as possible with digging for a valuable asset. I would have left the pig build as is and wait until more clay is found or as you now have a digger that works, just find it when you dig for a pond? Yet it´s of no help to you, I understand you have a plan and it might ne fun to do. Yet just saying, it will not be a good memory for your back.
Give the clay to your wife instead and let her have a go with some pottery? She might enjoy a handcraft where she can be even more expressive?
Pigs don´t mind a little cold and maybe their is a better option if you look online?
Good luck @@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife
If you leave the earthbags not protected they will disintegrate and all our work would have been for nothing. This build is about learning how to build with earthbags and cob for future projects. Same as the milling really. Practise makes perfect and I can always use the planks in other projects in the future.
Thanks for your input though.. very often our subscribers give us good ideas that we can work into our builds and situation.
just watched you on Tv amazing place to live I hope more people follow you so you can live your dream
Sarah and Luke it is truly my prayer and hope that the life You are living is able to encourage and even inspire millions of people in going after the things that they find out that they have great passion for.😊
Thank you so much Stanley ❤️❤️❤️
I have followed you the whole time. It would take forever to say what I think so I will keep it short. I love absolutely everything especially your dances of joy and your river…….best wishes from Australia

What happened to your vermicompost toilet? Did you implement it?
Yes we've been using the vermicomposting toilet for about a year and a half
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
Just came across your channel so HI! from the other side of the mountains. I saw very briefly that you installed a vermicomposting toilet? Do you have a video of that at all? - I couldn't see one on the channel. Would love to feature it on the vermicomposting toilets website project list if you do. (It's me who made the design and put up the website.)
