    Poor Sister Benita, juggling all those patients and scrambling for beds, doctors, trolleys - everything. She looks so tired but is still cheerful.

      @@AshleySpeaks4U That's madness 😢 In no way can anyone be fully alert after being on their feet working 24 hours straight. Which is when and why mistakes happen.

      do they have an assistant medical director in that emergency department? they need to hire one if not, and also call in the medical director to start seeing patients if they aren't already in the hospital

    idk how these nurses can keep their mental health strong. cause I'd be squeamish and probably faint or cry etc.

    • @f82nick
      @f82nick Місяць тому +1

      im sure being squeamish and faint-y is the least of emotions, imagine the guilt, anxiety, depression, and sheer existentialism these people face every day. These people truly are heroes who face some of the worst aspects of human life, every day, and still come home and be a mother, son, daughter, uncle, father, etc.

      To some degree, it's a self selecting group. People who are drawn to medicine are generally people who aren't very squeamish. Plus they eventually get used to seeing it after a bit

    I worked for ophthalmologists for years and emergency doctors never worked on anyone’s eyes. They would send them to our offices, day or night, to be seen. If it was really bad our doctors were on call for the hospitals. I’m just a bit surprised she messed with that guys eye.

      @@CathieWhitlock I said that our doctors were on call to the hospitals. But if the patient’s eyes weren’t very bad, they were sent to our offices. One guy was hit in the eye with a baseball bat and he was sent to our office from the hospital. That’s the type of injury that would be sent to us. If it was a car accident the doctor would go to the hospital.

      Nursing in the UK started with religious sisters (nuns, first in the Roman Catholic and then in the Anglican church), who started and ran charities and hospitals. They've kept the names for a certain role, I believe supervisory.
