Hallstatt is known as the ‘pearl’ of Austria, and is located in the Salzkammergut region. It is famous for its charming 16th century alpine houses, churches, folk culture as well as the amazing salt mines.

Route from Salzburg to Hallstatt 🚞
1. Take bus 150 [stand F] from ‘Salzburg’ Station to ‘Bad Ischl’ train station
2. Take the regional express train 3412 [platform 1] from ‘Bad Ischl’ train station to ‘Hallstatt’ train station
3. Take a 2 minute walk down to Hallstatt ferry port [Hallstätter Seeschifffahrt] and take the ferry to Hallstatt town.

💴 €7 [for an open ticket ferry return to Hallstatt town, cash only]
(Tickets can be bought directly from Salzburg train station)
