I’ve tried the moat type bowls, and several of the little psychopaths drown so the others have dead ant body bridge to get to the other side!
LMFAOOO this comment has me dead hahahah
🤣🤣🤣
Lol
I have the same problem, I wasted money on these ant proof bowls and they don't work. And it's not funny that not only when you waste money on the bowl but have to throw the food away too. Your pet can't eat ant infested food. I tried the peppermint and outside you have to use it everyday. That's gets expensive also.
@@sarahelinburg8308vegetable oil works perfect! Every few months replace the vegetable oil. I have use mine for a long time and it really works.
There's a circular pet bowl mat that's flat and you put your pet bowl on top. The bottom is a maze that keeps the ants going around in circles but they can't get to the food bowl. It's a brilliant invention and I think it's from Taiwan.
I haven't seen one of those but it sounds interesting, thanks for sharing :)
@@vetnpetDIRECTthey don't work, and if you know anything about ants, they release pheromones to show other ants the way to the food. Unless the device is floating in the air (it isn't) they will eventually explore their way to the food, and once they get there, they will mark the trail on how to most efficiently get back to the food for the other ants.
@@Steven-gv1keterry cloth underneath a pan with legs also works as well! Just make sure the terry cloth extends well beyond the pan on all sides. Ants cannot get past the terry cloth, guaranteed!
I've just bought two of these for my cats so sick of having to battle with those pesky ants & my poor cats having to try & eat food with ants crawling In their bowls, For now I'm placing their bowls on a dish of water but they can be messy eaters so have to get the wet biscults off the dish which isn't to goood - Thank you for saving my sainty & finding a solution for this problem.
YAY! Here's to ant free cat food :)
My ants usually ball up to float together
I am not disappointed
IT SEEMS A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE THIS TABLE TO KEEP ANTS OFF. I BOUGHT ONE OF YOU TODAY FOR THE MAGPIES AND BUTCHER BIRDS. I LL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES IF I REMEMBER. I HOPE THE BIRDS WILL LIKE IT. TOO BAD FOR THE PESKY CARPENTER ANTS.
Did it work plz respond did it work or no
Thank you for your video
Oh no, I just realized your company that sells the table is based in Australia...
Do you guys ship to the U.S.? Thanks for the help.
yes we sure do ship to the US!
Her accent should have warned u that she was a Shelia, over here we call them (women) skirts!
I thank y’all
How much vegetable oil
...one-fourth inch ...one-eighth inch ... or just a coating?
Excited for my order to arrive!
Thank you so much for this needed solution!
Just enough to coat an ants body. About 1/8" is sufficient. However if ants climb in and die, other ants might use their bodies as a bridge. So 1/4" might be better.
You're a genius with the pet food table! I'm gonna buy one as soon as I can. I have a question though. Won't peppermint oil also deter my cat from his food too? Cats have highly sensitive noses, & I feel unsure about using the oil.
Another question, can food grade diotamaceous earth help instead of talcum powder? I don't find it safe for my 5 year old male cat, Kira to breathe in the powder, so I'm looking for other ideas. Maybe I could just try veggie oil...
These tables are hugely popular and have had great reviews from our customers. :) You could try diatomaceous earth and if not satisfactory change to a vegetable oil. We have not noticed any adverse effects from our own kitties with peppermint oil - some even come up and are happy for a scratch when we have a bit of it on our hands but as we know cats can be very individual in their preferences! :)
Did it work for u plz respond
I havent tried it yet but I'm considering it now that I'm looking back at this video lol
peppermint oil is toxic to cats.
Thanks
She looks somewhat like uma Thurman.
Oh thank you, I will pass that compliment on. :)
Sigh. I might have accidentally poisoned a stray cat when attempting to make her food bowl ants free.. I drew several boxes on the front yard of my house using ant-repellant chalk where I can put anything there and ants wont get there. But after two weeks eating at my home, the cat is showing signs of getting poisoned. I brought her to vet yesterday since her appetite decreased and there was worms on her feces, but once she got home, she continuously vomitted foamy thick greenish substance until now. She went into hiding and I cant find her 😥
I completely forgot that the cat might ingest the chalk. I just realized it now and trying to find a safer alternatives 😞
Oh no, that is very sad to hear. Yes a lot of insecticides and pesticides are toxic to cats. She may have stepped in it and then groomed and ingested some of it. Cat's do often disappear or go into hiding when unwell, hopefully she turns up soon.
Thank you for trying to do the right thing in feeding the stray cat and taking her to the vet. Hopefully she returns to you soon.

@@vetnpetDIRECTwouldn’t peppermint oil bother pets?? Is it harmful to dogs and cats?
New Mexico USA ants don/t mind water.. they get in the water bowl as well.
Those bastards make rafts out of themselves.
Lmao@rafts
I seriously have seen my cat eat some of the ants. She is crazy and gets down like that.
Wasn't aware of that about even broth and salt added to whole chickens etc they can't have that in they're diet
Bone broth would be o.k?????
What if the ants skydive from the counter and land in the food bowl?
lol, I am not sure anything can stop those ants, they must have super powers!
the dog will smell th e vegetable oil and will try to eat it with containers and everything.
Hi Arturo,
Thank you for your feedback. I guess that is possible if you have an extremely food orientated dog, however we have not ever received that complaint before. I don't think vegetable oil is generally very appealing to a dog, although I am sure there is an exception.

My ants are smart. They actually made a bridge over the water.
Oh that is smart! Maybe check there isn't a little crumb or something there that is acting as a floating device to help them form the bridge.
@@vetnpetDIRECT that's good adviceand the Shelia in the video seems nice. Also keeping area around the food bowl clean helps with your table. Greetings from Alabama
No crumb needed, the ants will build a bridge. I've seen one up to 3" long, just dead ants.
smart and good builders.
A bridge over troubled water 🎵🎶 !!!
I'm not sure if this was asked yet, but where did you purchase the purple dog food bowl feeding station? That will be perfect for my dog. TYIA.

will this help keep slugs away from my cat food/water
Hmm, Im not sure, slugs are sticky little creatures and they can stick to surfaces and use their long bodies to grip from one end of something to another. I think they might be able to make their way over the legs that contain the oil. But the lifted height of the tray could be enough to deter them from climbing upwards.

I believe I can take a 9 to 11 inch Pie Tin and put the bowl in the middle and and fill the tin with water. Or a mix of water and vinegar.
Cats just knock bowl over and spill water and ruin food....bad idea pal
@@waynewilliams5802the food bowl as to almost as large as the other container. A better solution is to get a bowl with a smaller bottom that tapers outwards as it goes up. Then place it in a container that is a hair bigger than the bottom, but not as wide as the top. Then no food can fall in it. Add a little water with about half a teaspoon of dawn soap to it to stop insects.
Is that available in the united state?
Hi Steven,
Thanks for the question. You can purchase these Ant-Off Tables from us at vetnpet DIRECT here www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/products/ants-off-pet-bowl-table and we can post to the USA.

I just throw some cat food under my cousins bed and the ants just go there instead
Well that's one way to deal with an ant problem lol
LMAO
Has anyone got a solution to keep yellow jackets out of my dogs food bowl ? thank you .
That's a tricky one since they can just fly and get around most of the ant-free solutions. If you feed your dog at night is it still a problem? Is it just when the food sits there for a bit uneaten that they are attracted to it?
Do you ship to Texas?
Yes we do.
You can place an order online at www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/
I just ordered today; I am so sick of our red ants right now. They are eating all my stray cat's food. =( I sure hope this works.
I tried the water method and somehow there’s still ants. I just don’t get it.
Hi Christina,
They are sneaky little things ants. Perhaps try the oil. The oil is a lot harder for ants to build a bridge in so this might work better..
Let us know how you go.

@@vetnpetDIRECT thank you I drew a chalk line around the bowl and for now they go around in circles 😳
Oh wow! I can't believe that works!
@@vetnpetDIRECT I literally drew circles around and they didn’t cross over. But it doesn’t stay long. I have to find a more permanent solution.

Which question requires an answer Cathy? Maybe we've missed it?
