    Thanks for this video, super helpful!! 💕 i had a question: my exam is in around 2 weeks and my full mock scores/timed q scores are barely improving from like 2500, QR and AR being my worst. I started studying last week. Do you have any advice to accelerate my progress to get 3000+? Also how can i stay motivated when I’m not really improving that fast? Thank you!!! 🫶🫶

      @luluhalim  6 місяців тому +4

      You’re welcome!! in terms of advice, first I’d recommend upping your study duration every day (If you’re doing 3 hoursish then up it to 4/5 etc.,). AR and QR are quite difficult yeah. For AR, make use of the patterns list that I’ve linked in the description, it was really helpful for me and will help you in picking up on patterns quicker! For QR the main thing I found helpful was prioritising easier questions first (ones that have max 2 steps) and flagging the rest, when I’m done then I’d go through the rest and solve the ones I still have time for, this will help you bag the easier marks first and save your time! Motivation does come and go but I’d recommend you remind yourself consistently of how the UCAT will help you in your application process and the reason you want to do medicine - discipline is also a big part of keeping going and I definitely lost motivation as well so had to just force myself to study! I hope this was a bit helpful, Good luck in your exam!!💞💪🏼

    Do we need to take a course or a private tutor for Ucat preparation and have you had any special course for it?

    • @luluhalim
      @luluhalim  6 місяців тому +1

      I personally didn't take a course and mainly just used question banks so I don't have much information regarding tutoring for the UCAT. I would mainly recommend doing good research if you're planning to do private tutoring so its a fruitful investment

    hi i have a question - for the GMC, did u only read the good medical practice article or did u read multiple articles on the website? also it would be helpful to link the articles u read. thank you :)

      @@joymichel8199 i mainly just read the good medical practice guide briefly, and for the actual information I’d go through the practice websites resources and question feedback

      @luluhalim  5 місяців тому +1

      @@areebazehra9550 kind of yeah i played around with it abit sometimes I’d do 3 sections a day and then 2 the other or 3,3 and keep going with that. It is quite tiring to do all 5 yeah and I wouldn’t recommend doing that cuz you can easily burn out closer to the exam

    if you don't mind, which medical schools that you applied to did you get offers from?
    i did my UCAT today and got 3000 but band 3 which is a similar score to you and i'm concerned my band 3 will limit my ability to get offers :(

    • @luluhalim
      @luluhalim  5 місяців тому

      Good job this is an amazing score!! i applied to barts, southampton, bristol and newcastle and i got offers from all except newcastle (I messed up the interview)- if you have a look at the requirements for each uni you’ll notice which are the ones that dont care much about the sjt - the medic portal has a good article on that. Most unis don’t care much unless its band 4 so you should be completely fine!

    • @aquilastar2592
      @aquilastar2592 5 місяців тому

      @@luluhalim ty that's very reassuring!! i'm still scared some places like birmingham would use it against me after interview (they create a combined interview and SJT score which they then rank by and make offers based on) but i think i'll have to apply strategically to places who don't care about it (other than not being band 4)

    • @luluhalim
      @luluhalim  5 місяців тому +1

      @@aquilastar2592 yeah I believe birmingham might not be a good choice if they use the sjt like that, there’re a lot of unis that don’t care about it tho so good luck!!

      @@sabeetha3078 I’d definitely recommend investing in a question bank like Medify to start practising, and there are loads of resources on youtube that are super helpful like section walkthroughs. Overall, starting early and giving yourself time to take practice is key and good luck!
