Alina, the secret to going all the way to the top of the Avila is just like when U start training. Go up to Sabas Nieves non'stop. That is: without taking brakes. At the pace of a Turtle if U have to. Only take a break if it is extremely necessary. And do so at a spot that ¨speaks to U¨! Either a view, or a beautiful rock, under a tree or in plain sunlight.
It’s so funny to me that she pronounced sabaS nieves when we actually pronounce it as saba Nieves because honestly we tend to swallow the S while pronouncing it 🤣❤️ I’m glad you enjoyed my city. In Venezuela we have eternal SUMMER, and in Caracas a nice temperature of 35 C° +- and in less than 2 hours, you can go to Caribean beaches or cold mountains like the Avila, Colonia Tovar or Los Teques.
¡Excellent journey & great drone takes; Welcome allways to 🇻🇪, feel at home! you are now a "caraqueña" too 😄 you made it to Sabas Nieves without much problem, 45 min is acceptable 😄, btwy in my younger years 30 min without a drop of sweat 😅 fill the water bottle at the same spot and then continue on to Pico Oriental or Lagunazo 🤠👍 there are other trails around the park too as you mentioned 🌄. New subscriber 🤠👍 Just remembered, probably one of the best views of the city in my opinion are from "el banquito" a small wooden seat along the trail from Sabas to No Te Apures, about a third of the way way going up, No Te Apures is half way aprox, another stop to get some water.

I used to go up there often, but past Sabas Nieves, that part was just kind of a warmup 😄 not even stopping at S.N. just getting some water and carrying on without cooling down. I would do other trails too, I love that mountain and miss it a lot, you brought me back such memories, even taking spring water at that same tap 😄, 🌄🤠👍
Such mountains get their name as it reminded the view of the Gredos range as seen from Avila city in Spain. Now it is also called Waraira Repano the old original native name before spanish arrival.
Hehehe next time you have to get up to the Humboldt hotel hiking hahahaha it's 6 hours of hiking.🤣🤣 But worth it because of the views are insane, and less people do that route, that's the reason because I like it so much I don't like so much the crowd 😂

Los nombres de los lugares son muy difíciles de cambiar por decreto. Están arraigados en la memoria colectiva y han adquirido significado para los pobladores. Para mi es muy difícil decir por ejemplo, que Manuel Cabre es el pintor del Waraira Repano o que el himno del liceo (Aplicación)donde estudié de adolescente ,no comienza con esta estrofa: " Frente al Ávila altivo y enhiesto el liceo levanta su voz"... No amigo, para mi siempre serà mi entrañable Ávila.

Yo estaba alla en 1955. me recuerdo cuando abrieron el teleférico hacia el pico Avila. En la cima había un otro teleférico hacia al hotel Humboldt. En esos dias no comerciantes. Y si me recuerdo el teleférico fue construido por una compañía alemana, durante el tiempo de Perez Jimenez, el Gordito de Tachira . Porfa si mi memoria es en error corrige me.

This water is officially made for drinking. People wouldn’t recommend you to drink the water from the sink in Venezuela. But this one up there was meant to be drunken. So everything went well although I do understand your concern :)

I planend this trip with a Venezuelan who has shown me around in general. But to go to the touristic places like Canaima, La tortuga or Los Roques there were travel agencies involved that booked flights, accommodation and organised the whole trip. I didn’t need to rent a car since a friend of mine had one there. I know there are agencies where you can rent cars but I’m not sure if there is one at the airport. It’s not like for example in Europe where there are car rental places on every corner. Let me know if you need to know any more details about the agencies or how to best move from A to B or anything else :)

I hope that as many people as possible can understand my videos and usually the most common language that most people at least learn a bit in school is English. So I think I'll stick to that, although I have been thinking in making videos in Spanish as well :D

En Caracas hace menos de 35° Chacho está bien en Pto la Cruz que es caluroso de verdad y tenemos 32 y 34°
La temperatura media anual de Caracas anualmente es 21-23 ºc. Eterna primavera en todo caso.

Great video, Alina! One question I have: I saw in the video that you drank tap water from pipes up there, and I was wondering if ... did you get a upset stomach or sick after that? When I travel to a different country I usually buy bottled water to avoid getting sick and ruin my vacation...

This water is officially made for drinking. People wouldn’t recommend you to drink the water from the sink in Venezuela. But this one up there was meant to be drunken. So everything went well although I do understand your concern :)

Did you plan your tour with a local travel agency? What about renting a car at the airport? Are there any?
I planend this trip with a Venezuelan who has shown me around in general. But to go to the touristic places like Canaima, La tortuga or Los Roques there were travel agencies involved that booked flights, accommodation and organised the whole trip. I didn’t need to rent a car since a friend of mine had one there. I know there are agencies where you can rent cars but I’m not sure if there is one at the airport. It’s not like for example in Europe where there are car rental places on every corner. Let me know if you need to know any more details about the agencies or how to best move from A to B or anything else :)

Haha well, I put subtitles in Spanish on my videos. I hope that as many people as possible can understand my videos and usually the most common language that most people at least learn a bit in school is English. So I think I'll stick to that, although I have been thinking in making videos in Spanish as well :D
