Some remarks you should know - from an Austrian owner of this bike: Due to the missing torque sensor this bike is more an e-scooter than an e-bike ! You just need to move the pedals and the predefined speed of every single gear is achieved. There is no difference between strong pedaling or only move the pedals. - In my opinion this is not a nice cycling. (Like it would be with a torque sensor) So i use the bike as an e-scooter with the activated throttle - up to 25 kmh is it allowed in Austria. But i have really to say: the 'e-bike-scooter' looks great, it is very stable and the two luggage racks are very practical! The only thing i dont like so much, is the display - in bright sunlight it is nearly invisible. The much too small switches under the display are hard to find. (This problem was already mentioned from the reviewer)
Great reviue . Thank you . I'm into my third month rideing my L20, even loaded down with camping gear or shopping I still get around 40 miles per charge. It do's the job that it was intended for and in a lot of instances like pulling a cargo or kiddy trailer far exceeds them .I'm very happy with it .
Great video. thinking of getting this for my commute 14 miles round trip. Looks like it would easy make it. Do the dofferent assist modes = different top speed or the effort you need to put in to get to top speed?
Hi mate, the latter I believe, I just reviewed Thier boost model. Same bike but a torque sensor. It has a power boost button that works for a minute at a time making pulling away and hills a doddle
Hello thank you for the great review! I just got mine and im facing two problems! One is the saddle sliding after i sit for some miles ( even tho i tightened like crazy and the clamp bent ) and the second most annoying problem i got is the front braking cable stretching when i turn the wheel either right or left. The cable stretches and it gets out of place meaning i can't use the front brakes, if i dont place it back. Have you faced any of these problems? And could you suggest any possible solutions? Thanks in advance
Hi, For the cable it may be worth checking you didn't attach the bars incorrectly. You can pass through the wrong side of the frame easily. With the seat clamping I can't help I'm afraid as I have had no issues. Get onto engwe customer support.

They knock out some good bikes mate
Engwe seems to be a brand worth checking out. Thanks for the review.
Cheers Greg, my favourite brand to review to date
I like the design of the bike. Outstanding review. Well done. Cheers
Thank you chris
I think it would be good for camping trips with the racking on the front and back good review Nobby atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Might be a bit tough on the ricker if it's really bumpy
@@nobbysnononsensegearreview8057 😊
i have the L20 SE...it folds, has a large colour screen... had it 2 weeks, brilliant bike...my power assist buttons are seperate...
I tested the SE and can agree it's a really good bike
considered such but went with the M20 for ease to add more battery without hassle.
I just needed the range.
Good call
Looks good, my issues is maintenance, im not great at fixing bikes and most bike stores in the uk wont touch anything not bought in store.
Valid point, I'd imagine most independent bike shops would do routine maintenance
@@nobbysnononsensegearreview8057 I hope so aha

Great review 🙂👍🏼 Would you say this would be suitable for a 5ft 6" unfit 61 year old man?
Yes, I've just had a 5ft lady try it today and she fit fine. I'm 5'9
@@nobbysnononsensegearreview8057 Nice one. Thanks very much for your quick reply 🙂👍🏼
@hollyhillrc no probs
If the brakes are mechanical, how easy would it be to swap over the cables so that the brakes levers are on the correct side?
I wouldnt imagine it would be too hard
Mine came with a 13am battery but i noticed you can get a 16 and wasnt sure if it was worth it, anyone got any ideas
Would give you a bit more range but that is about it
5.10! I think bike to small for you, I happy take off your hands.
The deal breaker is its only suitable for anyone 5.9 or under, unless youmess around changing the seatpost.
In fairness where it is a cadence sensor you can get away with being taller. But yeah if you are after full leg extension then you'd be struggling
This bike or the P 20
This one but the P20 is more convenient for storage and weight
If you got this for free, or for just a review, then well done.
Thank you
