It’s the first time Christopher Nolan’s film wins Best Film, and he let his wife do all the talking! He’s beaming with so much joy watching her talk on stage. They both got to have their moment on stage (with Nolan winning Best Director). Can’t wait to see the Oscar speech. ;) Edit: For everyone saying it's because "she's the producer", the film actually had 3 producers: Emma Thomas, Charles Roven, and CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.
Congratulations to Oppenheimer for wining the award/golden globe for best picture as Christopher Nolan gave us a great masterpiece of a film filled with history, affects of technology, brilliant minds, types of personalities and emotions. Everyone associated with this film did a great job including Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck and Gary Oldman etc. So well done and congratulations🔥
I agree. Every character was a work of art as portrayed by the actors. Robert Downey Junior, I believe, reached a new apex in his career. Cillian Murphy WAS Dr. Oppenheimer !! Emily Blunt, at times, underacted as well as Paul Newman did at the end of his career. The entire cast, I'd venture to say, reached new heights in their art. I had to watch half one evening and the rest on the next evening, it was so intense, and so full of history and of humanness that I couldn't handle the whole thing in one sitting. Each actor kept up the high pitch of the movie and of their characters and their stories that you have to take a breather about mid-movie !! One of a kind !!! To fall back onto an overused phrase: Breathtaking in scope and depth !!
@@matthewvalencic4217 Uh, Oppenheimer is the clear frontrunner to win both Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars with 13 nominations, the most of this year, it already won the Critics choice award, and the SAG equivalent to best picture, plus has 13 nominations at both the British and American Academy Awards. Far more than any other film of 1013!
I'm glad that Cilian Murphy is finally getting the attention he deserves, he's a great actor. This movie was not my favorite but watched it to support Cilian. I'm still happy for them.
I’m sure he wants that Oscar though. It would truly cement his legacy amongst the greatest directors in Hollywood, but would also give him even more bargaining power for his future projects.
He's a work focused filmmaker that's never had awards in mind when making something, but he appreciates the recognition if it comes like any artist and any professional does. It's nice to be recognized for your work and it also helps the work be more noticed and acknowledged in the wider scope of cinema history. Nolan has rarely been recognized for his filmmaking before, so it's extra sweet that he'll be likely sweeping everything this year for this pinnacle film.
As already watched Oppenheimer 3 times in a passage of 2 days and willing to see the movie again starting from direction , performance by Cillian DowneyBlunt to score It deserved to win this award

I thought she would be generous enough to be happy for them... sadly, she's just lost some rating in my eyes now... Bravo, OPPENHEIMER!!!
Such an amazing thing and I feel excited to see Oppenheimer project won awards. They deserve this honor. Great movie, great scripts deserve award. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oppenheimer may not be my favourite movie of 2023 but I'm so proud for their big win at the Golden Globe tonight. Best of luck for them at the Oscars soon. I hope it does win Best Picture 🤗
Thankfully it appears that the award season are recognizing great performances in worthy films as compared to last year when in an effort to be hip there was a rush to heap awards a the flavor of the month ( an unholy mess) . Happy for her and the other winners and those nominated . Now if we could have a do-over of last year
Killer Moon has been going downhill after the Globes. It lost Best Picture to Oppenheimer at the Critics Choice Awards and the SAG awards. Scorsese already has his best picture win for The Departed. Oppenheimer is Nolans turn to win both Best Picture and Best Director.
On one hand I’d love for the Killer to get the Awards for best Soundtrack, but Ludwig absolutely crushed it in Oppenheimer as well. Such a tough choice
Oppenheimer was a traditional good movie.. Downey hit it out the Park. Took me about half-hour into his roles to realize it was Robert. Killers of the flower Moon was one of a kind movie..
Killers of the Flower Moon was the cure for insomnia. The film was anticlimactic and nearly four hours long, that's why it didn't do well in theaters at all. Another polarizing film from Scorsese.
My only minor caveat is not including Jason Clarke as one of the faces of the movie. He literally KILLED it! The perfect accomplice of RDJ's character in the movie.
So proud so happy for all of them. Even though Emily should have won as well, it's great to see them all on stage celebrating the best film of the year. And Chris as well as Emma getting recognised was a long overdue and they deserve it
Respectfully, Emily Blunt isn't that GREAT or EXTRAORDINARY of an actress in my opinion. She's really good... plays all of her parts very well. Nothing she did in Oppenheimer was memorable for me at least...I dunno. I still respect your opinion. ❤
@@Farooq_Bhai_Your opinion, anon. She was great and did the best with the little she was given for a condensed barely-written character in a script not focused on her role, or any female role. Even Chris admitted that he was scared of writing her character and Emily surprised him with how she humanized her and embraced the ugly parts of her. Along with her "you don't get to commit the sin" scene, her scene at the interrogation was gold and went viral several times for how great it is. People even cheered a bit at several showings during that scene. And she and Cillian were the only of the main actors that actually fully immersed in their characters including transforming their voices. A couple of the others sounded like themselves speaking. Her portrayal despite the writing issue was praised by many, including Meryl Streep herself.
Narratives including politics are a significant part of awards every year, and the narrative in her category is with the lady who won. Just like the narrative in the lead actress category is with the lady who won, not any of the other four nominees. In supporting actor, the narrative is with Robert Downey to sweep and get his first Oscar as it's the first time he's done something worthy in years after doing so much mindless superhero stuff. This is not Emily's year to win in her category, it's for the lady who won, but Emily already has a Golden Globe and SAG so though it's nice winning again it's not a big deal. And she'll get the Oscar nomination.
Historically, I found Oppenheimer interesting, and there were some great shots filmed. But overall I found it lackluster and just a bunch of messy sections spliced together. Just my two cents…
Love that Emma Thomas can finally be recognized along with Chris for their work. The Oppenheimer sweep has begun!
