- Cropper is the perfect pet - friendly, loyal and he likes a cuddle.
But Cropper is no typical Man's best friend, but a wild-born fox. Six years ago Cropper was found outside hairdressers in Kent, badly injured after a fight with a dog. He had a disease called Toxoplasmosis that affected his memory. It can be deadly for foxes as it makes them incapable of surviving on their own in the wild.
Fortunately, he was taken in by Trowler who nursed him back to health and gained his trust. Now Cropper behaves more like a domestic dog than a creature of the wild. He can often be seen taking long walks with Trowler -- happy to trot at his heels or go on an extended leash when they get into town.
In a country where people often view foxes with suspicion, Trowler thinks Cropper can help people to understand and appreciate their counterparts in the wild.
Trowler thinks their unique relationship is down to patience and trust over time.

Unbelievable the amount of trust the fox brings to his new friend.. Getting a bond with him is one thing but trusting other humans so much just because the human friend trusts them is a thing i never saw before that strong and im interested in these things for a long time. Good luck for both 👍👍👍
Wolfi Tirol yes but it’s very stupid to let other people pet the Fox. One accident and they will come take the fox and kill it

Wolfi Tirol the fox and the guy have most definitely bonded on a very good level there for sure a lot of trust there. Animals believe it or not know when their life has been saved. I’ve seen a wolf befriend someone that removes it from a trap where the wolf would have for sure died. After that the wolf keep coming around until one day he just laid down next to my friend and he started petting him. It was the craziest think I ever saw. The wolf wouldn’t let me anywhere near her.
@@marcuslarwa9098 back when i was 19 years i found an golden eagle trapped in a football goals net... This poor bird must have been there for 1 day he was a little weak and didn't defend himself when i was destroying the net with a knife and instead of flying away he was following me.. about 200m to my car....there he jumped on a wooden fence and sat there watching me getting into the car and me looking at him after a while I started and in the back mirror i saw him at least flying away... Weird situation..
marcus larwa it's extremely sad that people now days will just kill it without letting it getting a second change. And no matter how none accident it happens if it only gets one da fox is as good as dead.
I hope that child grows up loving and caring for foxes as well as any other wildlife or animals in general
Glad to see the story of how Cropper came to be a partner with a human. Looks noble and beneficial to all parties involved.

I believe that animals feel us. They know who has a great heart and a lot of love to give. Love attracts them.

I often think that too. If you are gentle and not panicky around an animal they are usually sedate. Right from horses, down to spiders. There's a cat that looks like its been through the wars and (sort of ugly - no tail and an eye missing) near my mum and dad's house. While I've been chatting over the garden wall during lockdown, he comes and sits with me and purrs. I love it when animals are nice with eachother.

Yeah, it's true. But what we humans often believe to be some sort of sixth sense, or "feeling if a person is good" is actually their superior ability to read body language and facial expressions. Since this is the way they communicate with each other, it makes sense that they have learned to correctly interpret humans, too, over the last few thousand years.
However they do it, I think every dog or cat "parent" knows that they are fully aware of how we feel. When we are sad, they come to comfort us et cetera.
What a wonderful man. Foxes are so beautiful.

Whilst there is a lot wrong with My country, I will say the English countryside is the most peaceful and beautiful place to be. Literally heaven on earth. We must protect it for as long as we can.
It's being eaten up bit by bit by new houses. So long as population keeps increasing, countryside will disappear. And once it's gone, it's gone forever.
I love how this fox knows to walk where his human can follow. He's extremely smart and has been trained that when the man clicks the leash the fox knows to stop or check back with the man to see what's up. This style of 'clicker training' works very well with most dogs. As well as difficult to train dogs. It's simple yet effective. This fox just loves and trusts his human to even trust his judgment and be friendly with other humans when the old man asks him too. What trust between them. They really are best friends and occupy eachothers time. Beautiful bond to capture on camera. Thank you for sharing.

I’m Native American from the Penobscot Reservation and where my houses is kind of secluded from the rest of the tribe and I have the pleasure of watching fox raising their young right across from my road they have dens up on this little hill

I actually moved to Colorado and was living right on the edge of the national Forest and started noticing a fox coming to my glass door every morning. 3 months later the fox trusted me enough to come into my house and actually lay down inside my apartment right beside the glass door... His name was RED and he was my friend!

Lucky fox. Toxiplasmosis is a terrible death. I'm guessing the effects of it meant inability to return to the wild as well as his trust of (some) people.

@@jillianjoy3916 Toxoplasmosis is the condition that the fox has. It causes them to become very docile and unable to fend for themselves so they usually die of starvation in the wild.

@@jillianjoy3916 Actually I've been studying and photographing wild foxes for over 10 years and actually knew a wild fox with the condition who became very attached to me. Unfortunately she disappeared before she could be caught

If this fox hadn't been found, he'd have died of toxoplasmosis because it totally destroys the brain and therefore the capacity to live. Yet, look what beauty and love has come from this man, who is beautiful and loving. Would give a lot to know him and his pet darling. Lived in England and Scotland and loved seeing foxes often.

Thanks so much for taking care of him. I would do the same, I definitely will adopt an animal in need. They are so beautiful and adorable, and smart. This Is a typical example of how this animals are in need for love and also they know how to give immensely love back and animals have such a pure heart and clean souls!!!. That is why animals are better than humans They give big time unconditional Love!! And are so faithful for life. I ADORE, RESPECT, AND LOVE ANIMALS.
I really wish that millions of people would treat animals with so much love and rescue them when they are in need and care for them.

I have a wolf hybrid and it's a different kind of relationship than with a dog. I've had her for 11 years and she's the most gentle creature I've ever met. Unlike domesticated dogs, wild animals don't instinctively trust you, it has to be earned as you are doing with your fox. Good luck.
Uhm, dogs don't "instinctively" trust you, you have to gain their trust. Feral or abused dogs don't trust humans.

Amazing. Mammals of all kinds can adapt and be friendly with humans and we with them. Proves to me that at least as far as mammals are concerned we all have personalities and the same basic desires and wants.

They are quite remarkable animals, some years ago I used to have a sand Fox from Egypt as a pet after you know his mannerisms, you know what to expect from them but they can be quite trusting and loyal.
