This video more useful to me sir, If you have possible make the more videos about the Tape rotation/Tape handling and VMware backup and restoration. Thank you in advance
Hi Chinna, we need to make few other videos first and then will do tape related ones. If possible will make it at the earliest. For VM level we are trying to make a lab setup. Once ready will create videos you requested.
Hi CorpVault-Tech @11:20 under pre / post which extension can you specify there? for example i want to specify a tsql job or powershell. can you explain to me how I can give it under the Pre \ post command? an example? I want to do this because my sql is running on AlwaysOn. I want to give a script to first break it , restore and rebuild it. Kind Regards, Madimak
Hi Madimak, the video you are looking at is for file system restore and here you can use batch files, PowerShell scripts, commands etc. For SQL this might not be the right place. Have you checked the options available in SQL recovery using SQL agent?
@@CorpVault Hi, I understand that it is a file system restore but it was the pre \ post part for me. you also have that option for restoring databases. do you have a link for the video available in SQL recovery using SQL agent? I want to be able to perform a schedule restore on a SQL 2016 with AlwaysOn within commvault. - Which is the case now: 1. first i need to break the always on in sql 2016 2. then restore in commvault 3. and rebuilding in sql that is very time-consuming. i will do that all in commvault. Do you have a solution for that?
we are not SQL expert. what you need is SQL script which can perform your needed actions / requests and this script has to be added in pre / post section. will out of place restore help? you can rename and recover the DB, verify it and its good then drop prod DB and rename restored DB to make it live. we have not created recovery video(s) for SQL. we will try to make one but might take time.
