  • This really is the strangest car you've ever seen. But we need to know - Is my Daihatsu Midget Radio Active? It's an important question that needs to be answered after this little car was imported from Japan.
    We also need to finish off fixing this little nugget and then give it a detail so it can go head to head with Martys Kei Truck for the ultimate Japanese Mini Truck Battle!

It’s the father in-laws and is apparently the first midget imported and complied in Australia. Asked him a bit more about it and it turns out he used to import and comply them for years. These are so weird! The interior is really asymmetric. The rear view mirror in not in the middle, the head unit is on the wrong side, if you want to get out on the passenger(?) side you will cop a gearstick knob right where you don't really want it. Quirkiness aside though, I have to say it's a cute little bugger!

    • @toypop96
      @toypop96 Рік тому

      The two seater versions are even weirder; only available as a column shift auto since a manual would be awkward with the gearstick between the passenger’s legs, and the second seat is literally just a little stool grafted on to the end of the driver’s seat. Would be very cosy to say the least.

    So looking forward to this battle. Small cars make low speeds feel more fun. Could be the slowest battle you’ve ever had, apart from the mopeds…

    I’ve been watching you two for five years now and think it’s about time you built a mini jet boat and had some serious fun
    Play with it for a while then bring it over to South Island NZ and keep it in storage for when you come over and tackle our amazing high country rivers

    It looks SO GOOD. Can't wait until you put some crazy motorbike engine into it as a new project ;) ;) ;) No? Nobody? I tried.
    Yes I'm one of the OGs! Cool to hear the turbo music in the end :D Excited for what's to come!

    that CD was gold... Nice work Marty🤣 Also if you need more top end speed, just tuck the mirrors in... extra +5hp no cost

    CBC Bearings have a huge range of Gates belts I'd be trying my luck there.
    Keep up the great content
