@@kevinb9830 Punch stats have Usyk outlanding him in 10 of the 12 rounds. Fury didn't win the first 4 unless you just don't think body shots score points for some reason. As for how many prime elite fighters are on Usyk's record, from 2015 he beat 8 of the top 10 at Cruiserweight in his run to undisputed in a division that has never been as strong as it was then. Mairis Briedis is now 40 and he still almost beat the current CW champ twice. He was undefeated when Usyk took his belt and has only lost to Opetaia since as an old man. The other 3 world champions Usyk took belts from in that run were also undefeated. He was already the greatest Cruiserweight of all time before he moved up and beat the top 3 Heavyweights in that divison. To put that in perspective, Tyson Fury beat Klitschko in 2015. Since then he's fought 3 top 10 ranked fighters. Wilder, Whyte and Usyk (who's beaten him twice). He has 3 title defences compared to Usyk's 10. There is just no comparison. @@danielb7143 And what other heavyweights are there apart from Joshua? It's not a great era for heavyweights. Fry is easily Usyk's best win, and thiough he won clear they were not one-sided. They were won by a few punches each round. So if Usyk is an ATG and Fury is his best win and was close x 2, Fury can't be that bad.
The British commentators should never be allowed near a fight in the position to commentate again. I watched sky and their attitude seemed to be don't call a Usyk round just say they were very close and it depends what you and the (what we assumed could be bent) judges prefer yet, when Fury got a round here and there they were "Big rounds for Fury" and the gypsy king was back on top. The first question as the reigning champ. Do you agree with the scoring.......wtf?
It all seemed to change in about round 5. You could see Fury's workrate start to drop. Up until 5 he was definitely getting the better of it. I felt Usyk's engine won the day. Even against the bigger man, with Fury leaning on him, it didn't stop him being the busier man.
I had 2 rounds that were clear for Fury and 2 maybe. The difference is Fury fought like he thought he was winning and Usyk fought like he thought he was losing.
Quick stat correction. Larry Holmes had 20 title defences (not 14) albeit some were with different belts (16 with WBC and the other 4 with IBF and ring belt). Otherwise really on point and I like Duke's analogy to Fury thinking he was the defending champion. To win the title you have to take it convincingly and I had it by Usyk by around 2 rounds with some rounds being close but overall Usyk had the better work rate. I think the weight gain tactic was poorly used and backfired. You don't need a belly to beat Usyk you need legs ! If he was slimmer he could have worked his jab and dished out more body shots for longer and with more frequency setting him up for a knock out but instead he gassed out in the second half of the fight and then let Usyk gain ground.
Also Ali had about 19 defences in two reigns interrupted by an enforced layoff of 3 years and 8 months. He also defeated many top contenders before he regained the title from foreman. Ali still number 1 in my opinion.
5:50 Duke is spot on about everything but actually Fury has made 3 defenses in his career…not 2. WBC against Wilder, Whyte and Chisora. Still not in the bracket of all time great though regardless. Or, “irregardless” as Simone Jordan would redundantly say.
This could be the best scenario for Usyk! He stays fighting to defend all his title belts until he beats nobody but himself! Then, he is just not a modern day best boxer! He is the undisputed GOAT of boxing 🥊!
I agree until the part Fury didnt have opponents available. Fury didn't fight Price or Oscar Rivas years ago. Right now he can fight Bakole, AJ, Dubois, Zhang or Ruiz there's options he just chose least course of resistance
Fury looked timid, too worried about getting hit, seemed strange to me that he didn't believe in his size advantage at all when the fight was on. Twitching away but never letting his hands go, as if he thought he was going to be heavily countered if he did....I think he's down the road from his best now!....Usyk needs to fight Bekole who is the most dangerous if he really wants a challenge.
Duke is never far away, pretty much spot on most of the time,.extremely knowledgeable. My own opinion is like most fury lost this fight in 6 7 8 and 9 bit like last time, just didnt do enough.
One of the most sensible and decent conversations from a pundit. Fury acted like he was the champion and never once showed the tenacity and respect of someone that wanted to win the belt from a wordclass champion. Usyk always comes with a challengers mentality. Usyk fully deserves to be no1, to beat the champion you need to do so convincingly
Duke needs his own show tbh

@@kevinmurphy2562 Agreed. Ali stands at the top for me also. 👍
Very good articulate assessment from Duke
Let’s see more from this guy plz 👍
Duke definitely a voice of reason, and knows his trade very well, talk sports should employ him and give him a slot
One of the best and masterful commentaries on boxing.
Listening to this guy is like absorbing knowledge about pugilism from a professor. ❤
My first ever boxing coach mc Kenzie. The man knows his stuff! Wish i still trained with him
ubiased yet again good man . in no wayyy is fury a all time great NOO WAY
Great commentary.
Duke has been right from the start...he knows usyks style so well
Duke is the best commentator I’ve seen on talk sport by a mile
McKenzie was right, Fury's legs are shot.
Someone like Zhang or Itauma would kill him.
Duke needs to be on this show permanently
Fury kept talking about pain & hurt blah blah blah & Usyk said nothing 😂
5:47 school is in session 👏👏👏
5:50 Duke is spot on about everything but actually Fury has made 3 defenses in his career…not 2. WBC against Wilder, Whyte and Chisora. Still not in the bracket of all time great though regardless. Or, “irregardless” as Simone Jordan would redundantly say.
This guy speaks sence. Nice to hear some truth.
This could be the best scenario for Usyk! He stays fighting to defend all his title belts until he beats nobody but himself! Then, he is just not a modern day best boxer! He is the undisputed GOAT of boxing 🥊!
I keep saying it but when your the challenger you have to do more to take the belt
Love Duke speaks so much sense.
Duke is a true scholar of the game! Can't stop listening to him.
Real talk from duke!💪
Duke best boxing journalist speaks facts , knowledge n common sense
Knowone seems to be mentioning the various backhands fury was throwing.
Duke is a legend!!
you are so right DUKE USYK is a BEAST
I agree until the part Fury didnt have opponents available. Fury didn't fight Price or Oscar Rivas years ago. Right now he can fight Bakole, AJ, Dubois, Zhang or Ruiz there's options he just chose least course of resistance
Duke is the best
I had it 9 3 same as the 1st fight. USYK clearly in a league of his own.
Duke speaks the truth, Might not see him again on TalkSport!!
A trilogy only gets potentially triggered if after 2 fights it’s 1 win each. It’s effectively best out of 3…. 2-0 is over. Thanks for coming.
Spot on.
duke and his family are lovely people..they even have politicians in the family..hes been correct time and time again...
Duke is never far away, pretty much spot on most of the time,.extremely knowledgeable. My own opinion is like most fury lost this fight in 6 7 8 and 9 bit like last time, just didnt do enough.
"There will never be another Tyson Fury"- Frank Warren
"Thank God" - boxing fans
Duke delivers once again!!!!
McKenzie talks facts... 🤜🏻
God I love Duke. Bringing a dose of reality!
Duke always speaks sense.
