    Duke Mckenzie once again speaking nothing but facts.
    Fury doesn't have the resume to be known as an all time great and Oleksandr Usyk is exactly how you want your World Heanyweight Champion to conduct himself in and out of the ring.

      I watched big fights , mainly hw division from the 80s , first fight I ever watched was Bruno/Tyson while staying with my nan real young around 7/8 but im a total casual,, still am., also loved naz and Nigel Benn in the 90s , Hatton later then didnt really watch much till early days of fury era, even with my limited knowledge I thought he was over hyped, I didn't buy his bravado, it felt forced compared to a naz or Ali, years later I was quite shocked to see he won the belts in Germany, next thing he had his breakdown which was intriguing , when he came back I just got back into boxing with Aj on the scene etc, furys whole comeback story was inspiring to me, I stayed to root for the guy, could see his bravado was in fact hiding his insecurities like most people in life and under all the front I thought he's a decent bloke, watched all his fights up until Wilder 1 which he won even if he got the draw, by time of him beating Wilder 2nd fight I genuinely loved the guy, felt proud he was from England and was def a Tyson fury fan and looked forward to his fights, to be honest I was also quite confused how a lot of people were claiming he was one of the greatest of all time, I knew enough to question that, I spent a weekend watching every fight he ever had from the start of his career to present, loads of interviews etc and even with my limited boxing experience/ knowledge I concluded he's no where near an all time great, I couldn't even make a case for him being a great of his era at that time, it was clear to me he's avoided fights, cherry picked, blagged his way through questionable decisions (McDermott) failed drug tests, lied constantly and not been very sportsman like through most of his career, gradually since that Wilder 2 win he's come apart mentally and physically, lost all the fans he won over, showed a nasty vindictive character dealing with usyk who he clearly avoided for best part of 4 years , now it's clear why, he always knew usyk was levels above so he took easy fights instead, fury was a terrible champion, a liar a cheat, he could of been possibly been a great if he lived like usyk, he had natural talent that he wasted, was his bi polar to blame? I think it def played a part but still for all his faults I still rooted for fury on Sat and he let me down.....im done with him, I think he's a fake person.. Charlatan, liar

    Duke is 💯 best commentator in boxing imo and by far the most qualified + in top three greatest fighter's from England, a man that went in with 15rnd fighter's and won. What i saw in both fights was that Tyson's arms got tired by the 8th rnd, he couldn't hold them up very well. For a much smaller man to do that to a big fighter with all the advantages gives the smaller guy the win as far as I'm concerned and I wanted fury to beat usyk up badly, didn't happen.

    I watched it again. Clear head, no beer, no commentary. Wasn't even close. People need to understand bodyshots are scoring shots. The story of the fight was Usyk chopped down the tree in the first half, second half this slowed Fury down and Usyk completely took over. I scored it 9 rounds to 3 Usyk. The punch stats also back this up. Duke is 100% right, Fury may be great, but he is so overhyped given his record. An over the hill VK once in a scrappy points decision with no rematch, Wilder a boxer with very poor skills but great KO power. There isn't even one prime elite fighter on his record.

      @@kevinb9830 Punch stats have Usyk outlanding him in 10 of the 12 rounds. Fury didn't win the first 4 unless you just don't think body shots score points for some reason.
      As for how many prime elite fighters are on Usyk's record, from 2015 he beat 8 of the top 10 at Cruiserweight in his run to undisputed in a division that has never been as strong as it was then. Mairis Briedis is now 40 and he still almost beat the current CW champ twice. He was undefeated when Usyk took his belt and has only lost to Opetaia since as an old man. The other 3 world champions Usyk took belts from in that run were also undefeated. He was already the greatest Cruiserweight of all time before he moved up and beat the top 3 Heavyweights in that divison.
      To put that in perspective, Tyson Fury beat Klitschko in 2015. Since then he's fought 3 top 10 ranked fighters. Wilder, Whyte and Usyk (who's beaten him twice). He has 3 title defences compared to Usyk's 10.
      There is just no comparison. One is an all time great fighter. The other is Tyson Fury.

I could see usyk nicking the rounds and British commentator bias had me confused questioning what I was watching, the unofficial score cards also had me questioning my sanity and put doubt in my mind . Quick stat correction. Larry Holmes had 20 title defences (not 14) albeit some were with different belts (16 with WBC and the other 4 with IBF and ring belt). Otherwise really on point and I like Duke's analogy to Fury thinking he was the defending champion. To win the title you have to take it convincingly and I had it by Usyk by around 2 rounds with some rounds being close but overall Usyk had the better work rate. I think the weight gain tactic was poorly used and backfired. You don't need a belly to beat Usyk you need legs ! If he was slimmer he could have worked his jab and dished out more body shots for longer and with more frequency setting him up for a knock out but instead he gassed out in the second half of the fight and then let Usyk gain ground.

    • @kevinmurphy2562
      @kevinmurphy2562 19 днів тому +1

      Also Ali had about 19 defences in two reigns interrupted by an enforced layoff of 3 years and 8 months. He also defeated many top contenders before he regained the title from foreman. Ali still number 1 in my opinion.

    5:50 Duke is spot on about everything but actually Fury has made 3 defenses in his career…not 2. WBC against Wilder, Whyte and Chisora. Still not in the bracket of all time great though regardless. Or, “irregardless” as Simone Jordan would redundantly say.

    Fury looked timid, too worried about getting hit, seemed strange to me that he didn't believe in his size advantage at all when the fight was on. Twitching away but never letting his hands go, as if he thought he was going to be heavily countered if he did....I think he's down the road from his best now!....Usyk needs to fight Bekole who is the most dangerous if he really wants a challenge.

    One of the most sensible and decent conversations from a pundit.
    Fury acted like he was the champion and never once showed the tenacity and respect of someone that wanted to win the belt from a wordclass champion.
    Usyk always comes with a challengers mentality.
    Usyk fully deserves to be no1, to beat the champion you need to do so convincingly
