I don't know how many times I've watched this reaction, but it never gets stale. I am convinced that k.d. is the greatest female singer ever. There are many great female singers, but she exists on another plane. Control, power, diction, range, timbre, phrasing, flexibility, artistry-she has it all, and she knows how to pick her songs, something many artists with great voices don't do.

They call it "falling" in love because even when heartbreak is a looming certainty you can't stop yourself...because it's worth it. K.D. captures this mixture of bliss and pain beautifully. Her talent is a gift to the world. Patrick's reaction was such a pleasure to watch.

This is a classic Cole Porter written song from the musical Kiss Me Kate. Her version is gorgeous.
She can sing anything and make it look so easy. I love her. You need to do "Constant Craving" and "Helpless."
Patrick, you should also check out the music video version of this song. k d places the song within the context of the HIV/AIDS crisis, and it is so moving and absolutely heartbreaking.

wow some people must have the light of his holy spurt the one and only true God, or Yeshua in them when they sing because it moves me my soul is connected ❤I can’t even stop crying music is so emotional. I wonder how many people be driving around in the car wipeing their eyespeople that can’t cry to anyone else but when they’re alone music just brings it out.

Here is a treat for you and one of kd's best songs ever, a cover of a Patsy Cline song called "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray". Patsy Cline was, apparently, an artist kd idolized (also happens to be my Mom's favourite singer coincidentally) and kd modelled herself a bit off of Patsy's singing although, in my uneducated opinion, kd took it up a notch. Carson loved her as you will see.
In the video, kd and her band, The Reclines do two songs and the second one is "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray" and kd lang absolutely nails it.

By the way, I am not insulting kd by using lowercase as she always did that on her albums although I don't happen to know the reason why. Something to look up.
Yep, she always put her name in lower case and I also always wondered why. I thought maybe it was a marketing technique to make her name stand out?
I don't know why, but the use of lowercase typically implies humility, and k.d. lang has been frequently described as humble and modest.
