Didn't play City of Heroes back in the day but I did end up playing Homecoming. Still, this absurdly low video quality makes it feel weirdly nostalgic.
Very Nice. I will truly miss this game. It was my favorite game. Hell, I'd even call it MY game, period. I've played on different MMOs and different web games and different console games, and I didn't really have a favorite. Until this one. And with that, I silently hope for the day that it returns, if it ever does.
Fans brought it back in 2019, there's multiple fan developer teams running their versions, and at least one group is in ongoing negotiations with NCSoft hoping to make it an official return. What NCSoft ultimately does with it is anyone's guess at this point, but for the last 9 months or so, people have been rediscovering what it means to be a hero.
@MW2DUDE98 There's music at the login screen and carries over to character selection/creation. Its rather unremarkable, I'm not surprised you didn't notice it. What I did is took that rather bland music an rearranged it into something grander. The video is simply the E3 CoH/V trailers.
It's funny. While CoX was still around I considered this video epic. After the shutdown, I was too depressed to even watch it. Now, after the successful Kickstarter for City of Titans, this video fills me with HOPE.

I came back here today once I heard the Phoenix Project reached not only its goal but its first stretch goal. So happy that I'm listening on loop :). Love that moment when Statesman clobbers Scirocco
If the devs put half as much effort into the ingame music and sound effects as you've put into this theme, my number one complaint for the game would become a thing of the past.

The problem with the in-game theme is that it spends too long being haunting and generic in the opening, and you have to wait too long to get to the truly inspiring percussion/brass march. Of course, I have a highly developed case of altitis, so I often get to the horns when trying to decide who to play...

I miss this game. It weird i yet to speak to someone who didnt rate it higher than the DC universe & only a few that would say that other super hero mmo (i forget the name) was better. many would say they both had benifits.

NC soft did not want to sell. its so easy to sell the rights to run it to some one else. why did they not do it? why dose NC soft haveto be so fucking greedy? WHY? Till now I cannot help butt ask why and how.
This makes me happy every time I hear it. Even more so now that the game is revived and thriving.
