I thought EA doesn't have the rights for Dune 2000 anymore But it would be very nice they were allowed to remaster that game and maybe even make a modern C&C sequel of it

For the first time in ages I actually did a pre-order yesterday, went with Steam for the convenience of the Workshop. Can we get a Mod that makes the Gunboats actually good?
It's odd saying this given their reputation, but good on you EA for this announcement. Mod support ensures longevity (look at classic Doom) and LAN support is not being axed but rather delayed. These are good moves on EA's part. Good on them
I think I read that mod-support only was limited to singleplayer skirmishes & campaigns, so no online on private servers or LAN-support (when LAN support arrives) with mods activated.

Just the turn capability ? The other the strategic use of mines to disable the mobility of the tank .Perhaps a stealth mine layer for NOD ? The other mod .A global conquest mod .Different to Kane's Wrath in that there would be three stages of securing a zone .An initial stage of combatants only .This to secure an area .Second stage a mobile deployment unit .Third stage an MCV and base capacity .Super weapons would be exclusively a grand map function .Deployed from a specialised ,CALL IN ,unit that would function at every seventh turn of the grand map game .
Noticed on the screenshot's sidebar that they're open to doing a little bit of retcon, Nod Light Tank is no longer a Bradley IFV. Not entirely against that, I think Red Alert especially could benefit from this kind of retconning. Alternate reality or not, it's a bit of a stretch that the Allies would have Bradley's and Abrams tanks and then have these still in service almost half a century later. Just hope they'll redo the FMVs to make it consistent, specially to replace the Humvees in the RA FMVs with rangers
Command and Conquer being the first RTS to go open source? I must have been playing so much WarZone 2100 I missed that news... Seriously though, this is AMAZING news. I absolutely love C&C! Easily among my top 5 favourite games ever.
Can't wait to get my hands on it, looking forward to the nostalgia of my N64 days. Hopefully EA will realize the support of CnC fans and maybe, just maybe reconsider getting Generals 2 back up and running. As for mods, that's something I've never concisered with the original and looking forward to see the crazy things people make, definitely expecting someone to make the Scrin and as a map maker myself, expect so awesome maps being pumped out later this year. Something I will like - but probably not get - is being able to build more units simultaneously if I have multiple buildings for it. Like if you have two weapons factories then you can build two vehicles at once. Another would be stronger super weapons. It's been some times since I played the game but I recall both the ion canon and the nuke both being pretty weak.
Okay the way you have that contest set up is really fascinating to me! And very good for things like follow counts and subscriber counts. It's not a super invasive ad, it just peaks people's interest while watching the video, and then suddenly you have several random people who may have just found your channel, subscribing and following you to get as many entries as possible. Did you take a class in college on marketing?! Because this is both fascinating and genius!
You should check out and make a video about the Openra mod for command and conquer called Medieval Warfare. It changes C&C into a medieval RTS game with two cool factions. Its a great mod and i hope it gets converted into the remastered edition.

It really bugs me that particle effects seem to have the same frame rate as they used to, why can't those animations be updated to something at least like 60fps? It looks like they've just reskinned those rocket smoke trails which are about 10 to 15fps.
In many ways, I am so happy about this. However, I am also so used to being pissed off the bullshit EA pulls that I am also mad that they seem to be doing everything right here because it's making me hate them less and I've viewed EA as pretty much the antithesis of everything I love about gaming for so long now that it somewhat hurts to want to give them money
find me 1 person thar has a valid reason to prefer Origin over Steam for CnC remastered or in general... and i am willing to buy him a steam CnC game as a gift (on Steam) 🙄🤣😎
Lol well if you put it like that orogin has had the entire red alert series for years and steam only supported red alert 3. If anything I got to play a lot more your is revenge because origin had the option and well.. Steam didn't. (I admit steam has a lot of games that are way better than origin.)

@@johnnyxp64 I much prefer Origin. Just an overall better experience for me. I have a ton of games on there, battlefields, mass effects, c&c's. I also find their interface more eye catching and I like seeing all the videogame covers. It's more of a Netflix of videogames which is awesome and you can't forget the Sims.

Really? That sucks I thought with the delay in the CE releases they were going to email you your CD Key instead :(. Oh well at least the game is not that pricey by itself, but when you've already paid a crap-tonne for the CE, that's real unfortunate. Wanted to CE too but sadly just couldn't justify it on my budget.
The IDea with best Mods sounds good. Some of the Games have Thousands of mods and to find a good one is most of the Time a horrible Adventure of Crap. So if you can bring up some good mods, that would be awesome
Oh Blizzard how you have fallen: LAN support in 2020 for C&C. No support for Warcraft 3... So glad I refunded the w3:remastered and already pre-ordered C&C. Looking forward to C&C Generals. And red alert 2.

I've been doing that for my network admin classes, and that's at a small local college. EA has more money than god, and this is something they could easily set up. This is EA laziness and/or greed at its worst. No doubt they'll try to sell us LAN gaming functionality further on down the road.
