new scott foil is a so ince, I want to see in person, but this instance the new trek they removed the isospeed which was very heavy and also put a whole in the frame lol, of course it is going to be lighter, and also to give u an example treks last year madone fully built like this would be heavier then this bike, but this bike added weight in good areas that made sense and made it more aero, for an AERO specific bike. The little bit weight gained means nothing on the flats and the more aero parts on the bikes will be huge for the consumer, also we have not seen any real world weights of the new madone with an ultegra build and also there mid tier wheels, hopefully i can bring that to you guys first but if I had to guess same size bike same depth wheels I would say the new madone would be this heavy
Surprising that this bike is as heavy as 8 kg’s. It’s nearly a kilogram heavier than Canyon Aeroroad for instance. But if you see how Vingegaard and Van Aert are climbing, I mean - it can’t be that bad in the uphills. When you drop Pogacar.. but I wonder if they could have gone even faster in the uphills with a lighter bike. Or what do you think? Can you feel the weight here or is it super fast no matter what gradient?
Looks like a TT bike for me. And a bit heavy. Add on the paddles and the bike is close to 8.5 kg. It would be great if you can interview riders for reviews of such bikes like cervelo or trek as compared to more skinny ones like the sl7 and pinarello
Not a big fan of the s5 seat tube and wish scott foil wasn't going in the same direction. Just looks kind of odd to me when i focus on it but the bike as a whole looks fast af
yea to be honest, I didnt like the way it looked at first but then it kind of grew on me, but honestly kind of funny how scott literally took the exact same look of it, kind of bummed by that, but i guess it is proven to works
great feature! I've liked the R-series from these guys, and was on the fence about the S5 not because of the "enterprise-esque" stem(I actually love it!), but because of the bayonet steerer design's turn limiter. Will there be a durability issue with these? Thanks very much!
I mean with that design there is always a limit but honestly, you will not ever reach that limit while riding the bike on the road, there will never be a turn that you will have to make that will cause that damage, the turn limiter comes into play on bike in work stand out side or windy day and the front wheel is flopping back and forth, or if in an accident then the bike can crack because of it but if you go down on a crash then there is more at risk then just that part of the bike, I mean for example look at the guys in the tour, they are riding on hairpin turns and switch backs and they dont have an issue with the turn limiter
The bike looks cool but it’s too heavy thanks to unnecessary disk brake system. Disk brakes useless on a road bike. Disk brakes are for gravel and mountain bikes but not road bikes.
This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
In the same spec with the same wheels I wonder what the weight difference is between this and a SL7? I've read that 5w makes more of an impact than 1kg. I've also heard the old S5 was 5 watts faster than the SL7 and this new S5 is 8 watts faster than the old S5. So round that down to 10 watts faster than the SL7 I would think this bike would be faster unless there is a 2kg weight difference but I expect its more like 1kg.
5w is from the turbulent wheels (data I dont buy at all) so basically this bike is 3w faster then the old S5. Which is still quite a feat given the old S5 was fast.
yea the new s5 is way more aero then the sl7 I am hoping spesh does something to make a more aero tarmac or they have plans to bring back the venge because they got clapped on the flat stages this year..... but frame for frame the s5 is mroe aero then the tarmac
SL7 for all rounder, S5 for flat. I would still go for SL7. choked riding on S5 for elevation > 1000 and gradient > 6%. That 1kg+ difference is massive!
I mean they had the option last year and they didnt do it, and also they have lighter bikes like the r5 they can ride but chose to ride these bikes for the advantage, even in some hill stages they were riding this bike
Finally I understood why newer groupsets come with bigger gears, because bikes becomes heavier and you need these gears to compensate increased weight 😂

Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
Interesting to see the downtube cutout for the front wheel. I recall a cervelo video from a few years ago in which is was explained that such a design feature was only good for reducing drag in a wind tunnel, since it only 'works' when the wheel is perfectly centered. As soon as the wheel is turned a tiny bit, it's less aero.
okay but how often are you turning in a race? for how long of that corse, usually the wheel stays strait and usually when you are turning you are slowing down to speeds that do not matter about aero because usually that rider stands up out of the saddle to accelerate again
what do you think of the refresh for this bike, I think this is great by the company really being on top of the rules and industry to stay competitive when they are allowed too

not my bike this is jsut a video on it
Oh im 178cm just wonder what size should i get?
Cannot wait to get one! Is there a steering stop on the 2023 model?
I have mine for a month now. I can say the steering issue is resolved. There is a soft stop feel to the steer limiter. No issue.
Nice, but they added weight. Trek Madone got lighter and they got heavier. The new Scott Foil is my next project. Again nice.
new scott foil is a so ince, I want to see in person, but this instance the new trek they removed the isospeed which was very heavy and also put a whole in the frame lol, of course it is going to be lighter, and also to give u an example treks last year madone fully built like this would be heavier then this bike, but this bike added weight in good areas that made sense and made it more aero, for an AERO specific bike.
It's an aero bike, not a climbing bike. Save weight with your belly.
As a sprinter this bike sexy!
agreed!!
Jumbo Visma uses the R5, which is a lighter climbing bike for mountain stages
Looks like a TT bike for me. And a bit heavy. Add on the paddles and the bike is close to 8.5 kg. It would be great if you can interview riders for reviews of such bikes like cervelo or trek as compared to more skinny ones like the sl7 and pinarello
It seems that the aero road bikes nowadays have no differences between time trial/ tri bikes.
yea they are making them flat rocket ships
Will that seat tube fit a 2019? 🤔
lmao
@@GCPerformance18 same one fits a S3.
Good luck to all this shops that have to try to sell this. I suppose if the weight goes up the price per pound/kg goes down
what do you mean these bikes are selling like crazy this shop alone got 3 in and they already left the door
So what rim style are they pushing on this bike?
what do u mean? rim style? rim or disc?
@@GCPerformance18 hookless, clincher tubeless, or just a clincher.
@@waynosfotos clincher tubeless.
2 Heavy . They Cervello need a Specialized Carbon Specialist 2 lighten the Frame
:)
my dream bike, how much is the retail for lowest end spec?
Not a big fan of the s5 seat tube and wish scott foil wasn't going in the same direction. Just looks kind of odd to me when i focus on it but the bike as a whole looks fast af
What is wrong with s5 seat tube? Just asking out of curosity.
@@Necromonger69 Fugly
yea to be honest, I didnt like the way it looked at first but then it kind of grew on me, but honestly kind of funny how scott literally took the exact same look of it, kind of bummed by that, but i guess it is proven to works
that bike looks mean!!! that bikes got the devil in it 🤟
Rim Brakes are safer and faster.
It’s an attractive bike.
Nice bike & I like that color
I like it
great feature!
Great review 👌👍
Thanks! 👍
The bike looks cool but it’s too heavy thanks to unnecessary disk brake system. Disk brakes useless on a road bike. Disk brakes are for gravel and mountain bikes but not road bikes.
This is aero gravel bike with 34mm tires
I'm in love !!!
they did a good job
90% will have BB issues. Which will be an improvement over previous model. 😂
just needs a good mechnaic to install them right
@@GCPerformance18 Ah yes, the round peg in a not so round hole method 😂
I put 10k miles on my 2020 S5, never had an issue with the BB. 🤷🏻♂️
Stunning 🤘
It’s really damned heavy. Admittedly won the tour. But how much easier would Jumbo Visma have found the tour if their cervelos were 1kg lighter???
I mean they had the option last year and they didnt do it, and also they have lighter bikes like the r5 they can ride but chose to ride these bikes for the advantage, even in some hill stages they were riding this bike
Sweet TT bike bro
if it had wireless hydraulic rim brakes, then I'd buy it.
hahahha what the fuck
Finally I understood why newer groupsets come with bigger gears, because bikes becomes heavier and you need these gears to compensate increased weight 😂
lmao good one
Nice bike
I like it
2lbs heavier than my TCR with 105 for almost triple the price . Good value .
yea but also u tcr is also rim brake I am guess this bike will blow ur bike away on the flats, it has such much more aero benefits
@@GCPerformance18 rim brake yes .
TCR is not an aero bike though
I think you need to do some arm workout especially Biceps.
this bike or systemsix?
this bike all day I wish I was a cervelo dealer just to own this bike lol
@@GCPerformance18 haha appreciate your honesty and thanks for sharing your opinion! agreed this is a better bike but man i love the looks of systemsix (and cipollini ad one)!
The rival of Pinarello 'Ghost" Dogma F previously huh 😮😧? Cervélo "Ninja's " S5
Wish you could put them side by side 😂, both of them are scary bike right?
That would be badass to own both
Bellezaaaaaa 😍
Bambini had a few choice words about it 😬😎
The white and purple was in stock at my local shop for one day before someone bought BOTH sizes 51 and 54 smh
that color goes so hard, I love it
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1.
One sick bike!
My kind of hub. Quiet!
Dang! 8kg without pedals 🤔

@@GCPerformance18 the wind doesnt come at you directly in front all the time, its always changing directions
For $9,000, that's a good deal. (Instead of $12,000 Specialized bike).
haha, I hear u but specialized has a tarmac sl7 pro for 9000 with same specs as well
i'm literally watching as if i'm buying it.
hahahahha make sure u take notes lol. I do the same thing for trucks i want to buy lol
