@@ESC2023 I'll be picking up the Prometheus expansion before long. It really looks good. My group is going to run all the Olympus missions first then move on to that. With the improvements to taming since I last tried it I'm guessing it's actually worth the effort now.
Thanks for this. I moved my base across the map using a Moa and 20 times back and forward to move my whole base. I wish I had known this before I decided to move location, lol.
Thanks for walking through this for newer players. I knew you could do it but I can't remember if I've seen anyone actually walk through the process step by step. Also, thanks for the tip of putting fish traps through the floor. Never occurred to me to even try that! I'm looking forward to checking out more of your videos.🙂
Thanks for the feedback! Glad I could help. If there's anything in particular you have questions about let me know, I'm totally open to new video suggestions.
Great informative video. I use this method all the time. I even use it in the null sector. (You have to keep throwing the beacon until you find a spot that accepts it , as I don’t think they are supposed to work in the null sector)
Yeah, I realized it later. I had too many games going when I recorded that. Controls get confusing. Lol Thanks for reminding everyone, it's a good tip, appreciate it!
It's sort of a game changer now that we have operations on open worlds. You can put together a really decent away base kit for each of those harsher environments.
I didn't know that was a thing, I've been playing this game since the beta weekends, I'll make sure for when I make new bases on the map, to have this set up ready
>.< already knew the dropship trucking but still learned something new ... the hammer having a deconstruct mode on pressing Y =D up until now i hacked everything to pieces with a pickaxe or axe 🥵😂 P.S.: by the way, you can transfer items to and from containers or your quickbar quickly if you strg+click them
Yeah, I knew I could do that but the muscle memory was failing me. I was playing a couple other games at the time and kept forgetting that was an option. Lol. Glad you learned something there! Saves a ton of resources!
To move items to or from your storage, hold CTRL and click on the desired item with your mouse. To tear down, the walls, roofs, and beams...click the Y when you have your mouse pointed at the item you want to tear down.
I know about holding CTRL but I'd been switching back and forth with other games at the time and couldn't seem to remember to do it. lol I used to think you had to have the hammer in hand to tear down walls (with Y by default as you said). You don't, but the prompt is only there while holding the hammer. Thanks for clarifying that, there's a lot of little control shortcuts in this game and most aren't well documented.
My group used two of them on an exotics run to transfer all the other ore we mined while waiting for the extractors to finish up. The only thing that limits it a bit is that only you can access your own drop pod. So when in a group you need to hand off the cargo using a container or something then have the pod owner load it. But still, each group member adds that much more cargo space.
I know right, why would you ever even think of trying it? Everyone knows you can't take planet side stuff with you in the pod... Now I use this for dropping an away base down when doing a remote mission it establishing a forward basecamp in another biome.
man.... i just finished moving my entire base... for the second time in a week 😅and NOW i see this.. i had loaded up a bunch of horses... but the AI for them following you in garbage, they got stuck on every rock and tree on the way
That you can't do. Every time you drop from the station (or respawn after death without a set spawn point) you'll drop back down into the same general vicinity. But with open world games, after you have the orbital exchange interface, the only time you should need to go back up and drop back down is to change your space suite. Just make a bedroll and hold F (or whatever let you have bound) to set your spawn point. When you die you'll spawn on your bed.
Game Changer bro. I never thought of this. 300+ Hours in, and been doing everything with buffalos LOL
Thanks
I found out after about 150 hours. Lol I thought it was just me.
I'm at 500 and I never thought of it, buffalo ridding through the Prometheus lava caves is the way.

@farmerrabbit been there, back before I figured this out. Gets old real quick. Lol
I just bought Icarus, found your channel while eating breakfast and this video made me sub. Now to go see some of your other videos, thank you Benny!
Appreciate the sub and glad I could help! If you run into something you think needs a tutorial let me know!
Shell wit. Wish I had known this before spending game days for moving camp hahaha.

Interesting! I haven't ventured in there yet. If it doesn't work do you get the beacon back?
@ yes. As long as you see where it landed, and it has not clipped into the ground.
@Ssasquatching Nice. Great tip!
You can ctrl + click to quick move the items from inventory to container.

Thanks! Always wanted to move workstations with me, now I know how. FYI, gave you a thumbs-up but, didn't see it register.

Yeah, using mounts is a pain. I've never used them for a major move. I hardly trust them just to carry some camping gear. Lol
how can we move our drop spot though. so we dont drop in way back when we first spawned in with the original drop point.?
