NYC hotels don't have to be expensive. If you know what you're doing, you can get a nice room in the city for $150 or less per night pretty regularly. The worst thing you can do is book through a hotel brand's website. Use Hotwire and book a hot rate.

wow 74 USD, I scored the Four Seasons here in Florence, for 167 EUR/night and thought that was a DEAL! You outdid me! Great video...Staycations are the new normal! I hear you though, if we cannot travel my mind just STAGNATES and festers.
I’m a minute and a half in and right off the bat knew it was arlo nomad.. sucks the rooftop bar is only open seasonal to people who aren’t guest there. The see through floor is cool and nice view of the Empire State Building
I was there for a shoot last year (from LA) and stayed at the standard in meatpacking - prob my favorite stay just for the view of Ellis Island and the history of that area. Kind of similar to Arlo, you should check it out! PS liking the new channel!

Brett Conti you son of a gun, that's the same hotel I stayed in when I went to NYC back in late October, word of advice, don't buy the chocolate eggs. American chocolate already tastes like depression, those eggs in Arlo Nomad. They are so bad they will make a child cry.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden midtown in Jan 2019 and had a much nicer room with coffee machine, fridge and microwave for $70 odd a night.

Under $100 a night? There’s a ton of options. The best imo is the Holiday Inn in the Financial District. Insane views of the Hudson and the 1WTC.
