I would bet that if Tamiya offered those Blue ORV Frames HERE, they would definitely sell. That centered Servo mount is certainly added to my dream list! Carmine 💥 ⛽
Hey! I just ordered the complete double wishbone set up from your shapeways store. Can't wait to get it in a few weeks... But I have a question about the servo saver you use. The standard one that came with my MB 2015 kit is too weak and I find lends to sloppy steering. Can you recommend a good one?
That is some blue upgraded beyond belief Frog! Looks very good. What again, was the problem with the non-centered servo mount? Did you talk about this in a previous video? What are the gains centering it?
Great question. I found that the uneven steering links made the steering geometry inconsistent through the max left to max right. All my ORV's turn more in one way than the other. I really wish I had the threaded rod to finish it!
Thanks for the answer! I will check that on my Monster Beetle. Hope you find a threaded rod till the next video. I also hope to see a demonstration of the steering if possible.
Jeez I hope to see a demonstration of anything on the frog at this point! HAHA! I have only run the thing down the driveway. I need to hit up the track.
Since you seem to know the ORV chassis inside out - can you recommend a good quality servo saver for the Monster Beetle? I have an original from 1986, and the chinesium servo saver i bought for it is both too soft and sometimes binds or the spring pops half way out.
Oh sure, the best receivers I've ever used are by Kimbrough. I'm hoping that company still around but the last one I bought was on eBay. They're fantastic units
Hey do you know what tamiya kit came with a baby blue chassis? My Blackfoot I had as a kid had a baby blue frame, and I think may have started as a buggy
Well the only chassis even close to baby blue are the ones from the Bush Devil (the blue one shown). All bush devils had these. There is also the possibility that it was a frog. Those were a light grey and I have seen images of them where they seem to have a hint of blue. Usually they age and turn rather brown. These bush devil units are getting $$$ though.
@@AMPROEngineering thanks. I’m thinking it started as a frog. It was definitely baby blue but with Gray tinges in the color. I’ve never seen another Blackfoot with that color chassis and I’ve always wondered what it came from.
I know this is kind of late to the game but if you do center the steering would you just buy two of the tiebars kit and then just use the long ones or go out and remove the cup ends or the ball joint ends and just get some threaded rod and make your own?
Well....I do race mine but I would still say no. I never recommend anything but a hot stock motor and you cannot beat the modern cars that are out there now. The frog is just full of compromises and the size of the jumps on tracks to day....holy cow. Way too much for the original plastics and the nylon print.
@@AMPROEngineering do you know how much i could ask for it? Aside from a little scratch on the underside it seems to be almost new. Im considerig selling it since i just bought it for the other bush devil parts.
I'm just wandering is there any reason I can't use this on the king blackfoot? Obviously the chassis is exactly the same. Is the servo held nice and secure, I see the lower mount is held in place by the 2 little notches but how is the upper held in place other than the force of the chassis being held together? With the stock setup the upper servo/speed controll mount is held in place securely, thanks alot man.
I love your passion for the ORV platform. Thanks for another great modification.
Thank you. I am glad you like it.
love that blue orv chassis.can't wait to see what you have plan for sand scorcher so I can add it to my scorcher great video.
Thank you! The SS chassis upgrade is going to be awesome!
great stuff, happy to see you've found a bushdevil chassis, the center servo also makes a great mod for this awesome car :)
Thank you! I am also, I didn't think I would for a lot longer.
Going to look like a BEAUTY!
I cant wait to see it myself!
I would bet that if Tamiya offered those Blue ORV Frames HERE, they would definitely sell. That centered Servo mount is certainly added to my dream list!
Carmine 💥 ⛽
That makes sense so of course tamiya wont do it...
Great mod this one. Simple and effective. Have done it to mine, just not with your parts....yet.
Yes it should make the steering angle consistent .
Nice work again.
More upgrades that are added to a long list. Lol
Jeez tell me about it!
Some more quality work. Love your upgrades 😊
Thanks Chris, glad you like them!
Woo Hoo mentioned in an Ampro video fame at last. Rich
Ahahahahahha! Yes, fame is now in your card and a blue Frog is in mine!
i love the blue
I do too! thanks!
Looks great
Thanks!

Oh yeah the stock one is terrible. I use a Kimbrough unit. Cheap and reliable. You can get them on ebay easily.

"Uneven bump steer", like in a below comment?

i used to cut half tamiya ORV and put on the traxxas chassic...
wow very good...
already in my channel video
I’ll look
Cut and clean your nubs... once trimmed run the shaft of a shinny screwdrive over the edgs and nubs to get a shine.
Usually I use flush cutters but thats about it. ill have to try that out.
dat blue!
I know took forever to find it.

What car is this the rear end swing arms don't match the ones on the frog or Blackfoot. Thank you for your videos .
Those are my design. It is Ampro Engineering Episode 35
I was at your web site. Are you selling these wishbone kits. If so I whant three kits . How do I reach you if so. Thank you again for your time.

Yeah pretty much. I just have threaded rod that I have on hand for applications like this. Worked well!
@@AMPROEngineering Thanks for the ideas.
Another question.... Can you modify an orv chassis car into a competitive race car with your parts?
Well....I do race mine but I would still say no. I never recommend anything but a hot stock motor and you cannot beat the modern cars that are out there now. The frog is just full of compromises and the size of the jumps on tracks to day....holy cow. Way too much for the original plastics and the nylon print.
Great mod man! Is that a bush devil chassis you are using, or a painted one?
Its a NOS Bush Devil. I was amazed I found one!
you should paint the body the same color as the poison dart frog that live in the rain forest
That is the plan. I think the blue and black one is my favorite one at this point.
Do you have the link to the blue chassis?
Ty in advance.
I just got back into vintage stuff and man hoping to try some of your products soon.
Kenny
Sorry man, that was for a bush devil and I got it NOS a few years ago from over seas. Best I can say is just keep an eye on ebay!
@@AMPROEngineering
Thank you for getting back to me.
I just ordered the led lenses for the knock box.
Awesome products.
is the blue ORV chassis still valuable? i got a relatively good one from a used Bush Devil
Extremely!

No...I think you are right. It should fit unless the front bulkhead is somehow in the way? different?
Great mod ! Thanks👍 is it possible to post a link to “thinman” ? Please .
Sure! Thinman? You lost me there.
this upgrade to install different servo tie-rods should also be done on the Wild-One
That is the truth! No good on that one either.
Could you not just put it in the center of the existing mounts?
No the servo mount holes are not spaced correctly.
Note To Self: Pencil in the FROG as my next build.
Haha! Glad you liked it.
got my fix, wewt
AHahahahah!
