Great! Thanks! I just got a silk rug that is about 700+ knots per sq inch and has what looks like gold wire woven into parts of it. I was going to sell it, but now I'm going to keep it and hang it!
I too am nervous about putting a needle and thread through my Turkish Kilim rug ... the rug is not densely woven and the thread would show up and look horrible ... suggestions?
I have a quite heavy rug that i would like to hang on the wall can i use this tecnique to hang it or is it a different one for heavy rugs. My rug weight ap. 13 kg. If this is the tecnique that should be used should i put one hanging in the upper and in the bottom space as well? Thank you in advance!
@@TheCrepusculum Plenty of retail dealers use this method. Heck, that's where I got the idea. There is no damage to the rug and they are easy to install or move.
Plesse do not do that to persian rug. The rug in the video perhaps is k, but not a silk persian rug. You can only hang from the roots. Roots themselves need to be protected.
I think ultimately it depends on what the intent with the rug is. If the intent is to preserve it and if it is an expensive rug then maybe don’t hang it. But the design on the wall in the video is very well chosen to be hung on the wall.
Not only they look gorgeous, they have an insulating effect (sound and temperature). It's a big win!
i rlly like ur profile picture, what's the onion guy's name??
Thank you! The graphics/drawings were extremely helpful!!
I would have enjoyed more seeing the other rug hanged up since I liked the colours of it. Thank you for your demonstration.
Excellent how-to video! The cotton fabric sleeves which the pole goes through, great idea.

What is the song playing in the background? It is beautiful.

What if the rug weights 50 kg?

You probably need to fasten your hooks to the studs in your wall to hold the weight securely, like you would mounting your tv to the wall.
Good stuff, thank you!
Thanks
Nice info, thx
Glad it was helpful!
I’m scared to put a needle through my rug and ruin it
My rug is too thick to put a needle through
👌
This is one way... A cheeper way is to use carpet tack strips mounted to a strip of wood and then mounted to the wall.
on a persian rug? NO but you're welcome to do that at your $10 walmart rug

Get Uber cheap rug to use for practice
Looks good but that is a lot of work to hang a rug on a wall.
