1953 Chevy Truck Starter Switch Replacement, (ALSO I WANTED TO ADD THAT WHEN PUSHING THE FOOT STARTER DOWN THE LINKAGE IS PUSHING THE BENDIX INTO THE FLYWHEEL)
Thank you so much for taking the time and aggravation of holding a camera while doing the work and then posting the video! It really helps out a ton! Thank you sir!
Thanks so much. I drove a stomp starter truck back in the 1960's, I didn't think any more of them were still around. If I hit the lottery, I'm going to look for one. Thanks, DR2000. Cheers !!***
I’ve never had to pull apart a Chevy stomp starter switch before ..but now I know how . I’m amazed how quite the truck is , not any noticeable squeaks rattles rattles . Thanks for sharing. Shawn
Thank you Shawn, it runs good, although I had a distributor problem I just figured out, I think I did a lot of tuning I didn’t have to, it was binding in the block and throwing everything out of wack , but I think I have a handle on it now, I am in the process of retuning it, think I got it now
Thank you for the video I just purchased a 1954 GMC fire engine supposedly the starter is bad and I need to take it out. It’s on the opposite side of the block. It’s a 426 - 6 cylinder first floor starter I’ve ever messed with.
Thank you Dave, I have been chasing down a lot of things to get it running good like carb jetting and timing, just to find out that the distributor was not functioning correctly i fatten up the main jet from a 56 to a 60 now that the distributor is working rite I don’t know if I should back the main jet back down, even though the plugs are burning gray-tan
@@DesertRatFabrication gray-tan is good. These old engines don't mind running alittle rich. If the plugs get sooty you might go down a size or 2. Good luck

Can you do a diagram on how these foot stompers are wired up from the switch, starter, battery and coil? I can’t find anything online.
Thanks!
