Thanks for sharing! Truly inspirational! I’m coming at it kinda from the other end…we had our moving bz for over 30 years..I kinda “dabbled “ with reselling, but last summer, our big rig caught on fire, while my husband was sleeping in it! Thank God (truly) some officers had just happened to drive by & saw the flames…we’re able to wake him up & rescue him. We were “planning “ on 5 more years till his retirement, but Gosh had different plans! Now, I’m diving in, head first…making this my full time PASSION! I LOVE seeing stories like yours ❤
Wow! What a story to share! Thank you!
I'm a driver, and I remember hearing something like this happen. I'm glad he was rescued.
I myself quit trucking for a "break" to resell. Good luck on your journey.
You guys are such an inspiration!!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
Thank you both so much for this video! I wish more resellers would do such a deep dive with such honesty and candor!
Just found your channel and have been binge watching all morning. Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you for binging! Glad you’ve been enjoying the videos 😊
Thank you both very much for sharing your story. Very inspirational for us that are just starting out on the reseller journey!
Thank you for watching!
I love your success, but what I love even more is seeing the most selfless, humble and genuine supportive relationship you and your husband have! (I hope that sentence made sense)!!!!! Huge Congratulations, and I'm grateful you are sharing with all of us!!!!
Awwww that’s amazing to share with me! Thank you!
Congratulations! 🎉 you guys are doing beyond awesome! 🎉 What an awesome team! Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey!
Thank you! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your story! I just discovered your channel. I’ve been reselling on the side for 4 years, but just starting to ramp up . Thanks for your inspo!
That is awesome!
Fun and inspiring to watch. Thanks guys! I love reselling and miss it after having 2 kids. Definitely harder to fit it in now.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am now trying to get my stores to a full time income and your story has definitely inspired me. ❤
You got this!
Wow!! Way to go and I can't wait to see you hit your goal! First time running across your channel and am subscribing now and watching your older videos! I have always sold (20+ years) part-time but made a leap of faith last March, quit my job and am reselling full-time... never regretted my decision!
Welcome aboard!
Truly inspiring. I am just getting started. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you for sharing! It is so refreshing to hear someone say they made mistakes, but they kept learning, and this is where they are today, successful! May God continue to bless your business❤️
Thank you!
Great story well done for your hard work. I am from the UK & found you & subscribed through Tech but will continue to follow your UA-cam journey & wish you every success going forward.
Loved the story time, Carrie, I actually teared up at one point! I love how you and your husband have such a great relationship too. I’m all in on your journey! 🥰
Thank you for sharing that with me 🥰 and thank you for watching!
Congrats, very happy for you both, thanks for providing an abundance of inspiration. 😃
Thank you for being transparent ❤ I needed to hear this today.
So glad!
Love hearing these fun stories. Congratulations on your success!
Re watching this today and sharing with my husband because it’s soooo relatable. Our construction business is in the same place and we’ve also always dabbled as resellers. You have encouraged and inspired us so much with everything you share ❤ thank you!
Love that!
You guys are our inspiration ! We can look back and tell everybody that Carrie at home inspired us to go FULL TIME !😊
Wow! Let’s go! 💪
Very Inspirational!! Got my wheels turning! I’ll be tuned in for future videos.👏🏻💪🏻
Let’s goooo! Thanks for watching 😊
My 90 day total was 7000 One time i would love to see 10,000
You can do it. I just hit 25k last month for the first time (I crosspost). Just keep listing!
I loved this video! Thanks for sharing guys. -Bethany (from techs group)
Great Story and you Both have earned the success through very hard physical and mental work. Much respect.
Thank you! ❤️
Great story! I love selling jeans, too -- I've been a full-time reseller for 12 years and have a similar business to yours. It's pretty incredible but it does work! I do quite a bit of women's stuff because in my area it's quite a bit cheaper than men's items, but I'm selling about 1k pairs a month (I do have 8-10k listed). Great work! The biggest jump for me was when I started doing File Exchange for creating listings in a spreadsheet and uploading batches. Really speeds up the process, but is a pain in the rear to get started!
Amazing, congratulations guys! 🎉 You made it!!!!!!! 🥳
Thank you for a great video! I also love Daily Refinement and Tech and Sports. Rally Roots are another favorite of mine.
I started selling on eBay in 2000. I sold everything I could in my mobile home. I even sold my mobile home, haha. I took all the money I made and went to truck driving school.
I was a trucker until Nov 2022.
At one point,I sold on Amazon as a side hustle.
I got sick with the big C and decided to take a break. Now, in 2024, I am reselling again.
Watching your journey has me pumped. Thanks for sharing your story.
That’s awesome! Welcome!
Just wanted to say I love your channel, so inspiring and you seem like a really nice couple. I started my ebay reselling business last week (UK) and you've helped so much :)
🤩
That is awesome!
You guys are killing it! Rooting for you in 2024. 300k on the way
Let’s go 💪
That is very inspiring! I been trying to go full time on eBay but is taking for me more than I thought, the is one aspect not many youyubers talk that is reinvesting your profits, my bills take most of my money and then no money to source 😅😅, I been in this situation for 2 year or more , but I know I can make this works full time.
The beginning is a struggle, especially if you have to live off of your profits. I’d say focus on items that can produce higher profit margins. That’ll give you more breathing room. ❤️
I didn't tell my girlfriend (now my wife) that I had 25k of credit card debt. But I did tell her i'm gonna sell used shoes on the internet instead of looking for a science job that I went to college for. She was not on board but tolerated it. She's fully on board now that I paid off all that debt and bought us our first house. So I know exactly how it feels to pay off debt with used shoes from the thrift lol. Great video guys, thank you for sharing!
That’s amazing! We have goals to pay off our house with used clothing money!
I started seriously this year I also binged watched daily refinement as well lol. The only difference is I can’t get my husband into it too he likes going to work I guess but that ok I like doing our own things. I sell anything but still finding my niche in clothing. Enjoying your channel!!
Thank you for watching!
Great stories! Love hearing the 'war stories' of growth, pivots, grit and the grind. Usually people who had parents in business, go into business and do well. We run a family biz with all my family so I'd love to hear more people talk about how they make it work because people who don't do it think it doesn't work. I don't think people in YT land really talk about it.
You learn a lot when starting and operating a family business! I definitely enjoyed our time and experience we gained from it.
Very nice thank you for sharing I watched you and tech’s podcast loved it and your homeschool on
So glad!
Thank you for sharing your story. It truly is inspirational.
LOL i didn't realize how literal that Pirates gif was. I can, and enthusiastically, verify your engagement in that group - not just as a tireless learner though, but as a mentor and helper as well. I joined, i think, 4 months after you, and it was definitely a catapult like you said. 2023 was my first year doing resale full time, with jeans being about 60% of my sales (roughly $165k solo - a number i have not publicly posted anywhere else). i continue to learn big lessons, and quote Tech-isms to my girlfriend, who is transitioning more into resale in other categories. It was great to hear your story. $300k would be... oof... to accomplish solo. Love your guys' partnership!
Yes, quite literal! lol thank you for sharing and watching ☺️
What an awesome journey. Change can be scary and stressful. I resell part time, still work full time, the biggest issue I have is keeping down the COG to make a profit. My closest bins location is in St Louis, but that's an hour and a half away, so it's not feasible to go there often to get inventory, so I'm at the mercy of my local thrift stores. I have definitely started being more selective on what I'll buy since I know I'll have to pay up. Wishing you continued success 🙌
You’re in the right track! Got to work with what you’ve got 😊
Just Great. Thank you very much for sharing . Keep hustling 💪🏽
Thank you! Will do!
I so needed this today. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing was great to have story time I could listen on the way to daycare pickup haha u guys r crushing it x
Amazing! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Such A Phenomenal Story‼️..Congratulations 🎉
Nice video. Reseller myself at the side hustle stage. currently only listing weekends. Your business model ha given me a push to try and niche out my store. you should include your eBay store link in your vids though so people can go visit your store. keep it up and good luck on hitting that $300K mark
Thank you! 💪
Very inspirational, you both are great storytellers! Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing your story ! Very inspirational. I too am a homeschool mom who is a reseller . I would love to have my husband at home with us and be able to join the business . Thank you again for sharing . I am excited for more videos from you guys in the future
Thank you for listening! I’m glad you like it ❤️
Thank you for this video!
How many a day were you listing before your husband joined you full time?
@@rosemaryhamilton2257 I can't remember exactly but I know it was between 15-20/day by myself. :)
Great story, great story telling! 300k! Go get it!!!🎉
Let’s get it!!
I am glad you did not listen to the nay sayers about selling jeans. Great Job.
Same here!
Great video. Paying the bills is certainly super important but saving and investing in the future is as well. Make sure you're focused on investing because, being so young, it can really add up for you down the road.
Yup! We’ve been investing, saving, and throwing a little extra on the house every month :)
Awesome story! Thanks for sharing.
I'm hoping to go full time next year, here in the UK. Good luck.
A beautiful video. Thank you!
Just came across your channel. Love the content! Subscribed. ❤
Yay! Thank you!
This is amazing, my goal by summer is to be doing $2,000 a month on Ebay. You are such a good inspiration guys, your rockin it!
Let’s get it! 💪
Thank you. We are just starting our reselling journey.
Best of luck!
I love your success story!
Great team! I loved your story! Wishing you continued success. New subscriber following along. I retired early to spend more time with my grandkids. eBay pays for my health insurance.
Amazing! Thank you for subscribing 😄
do a vid on your break down cost of what you buy jeans for and sale jeans for
Im proud of yall. Keep it up.
Congrats! Inspirational!!
Congrats on taking the leap that paid off well. Disclosing net profit would be better as gross profit means nothing if net is low.
Great video. When you purchase jeans do you choose a certain size to are your sizes go to plus? Which size sell best for you? What jean brands do well for you? Thank you.
Awesome couple!! Love your videos
New around here! Love this video! I love Chris and Tech too! I drink that kool aid! Haha ❤
So inspirational! ❤
you two are very motivational keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
@@carrieathome very welcome i am also a ebay reseller but i sell everything sometimes i need a motivational videos and i came across yours thanks for the videos
Wonderful work guys
Great team work ❤❤
Thank you for sharing! Such an inspirational story. I just found your channel a few days ago and atarted picking up alot of jeans a few months ago. I was mostly collectible hard goods before that. Do your sales slow alot in the summer selling jeans?
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! And yes, sales do slow down for me in the summer. But I just view it as bulking season.
Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great video 😊 thanks !!
Thank you for sharing!
I'm on the same growth pace as you were. (except i'm a year ahead of you.) Your're hoping for $300k this year, don't worry, you will hit $350k. Just wait until the next year though... $500k
That’s amazing! Thank you for sharing that 😄
This is really inspiring and I love your videos. I was wondering if anyone has been able to do something similar to this in the uk? There aren't huge thrift shops over here and most charity shops and vintage shops sell clothing at quite a high price
I’m not super sure of what UK has to offer but the reselling Facebook/Patreon group that I’m in has a UK call with a bunch of UK sellers every week. Check out Technsport’s UA-cam channel or Instagram to find out more about it!
I only sale jeans 👖 congratulations on making it this big
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm a single mom and I want to resale on ebay full-time
You are so welcome! Best of luck!
@@carrieathome Thank you
carrie was just bound to be successful, she just needed to find her calling....which is jeans. great story guys, very inspiring.
Lol this made me laugh 😂 thank you! Im glad it’s inspiring 😊
Did I understand her correctly that "her" 1st year she did over $134k? If thats true, DANG is that inspiring!!
You understood correctly!
Great story. I sell mostly anything but clothes but, I still pickup jeans at yard sales. Do you promote your listings, to get all of those sales?
If so, what kind of percentage do you use?
They average out to about 6%
What sell thru rate do you look for when sourcing? Thanks! Your story is inspiring.
We strive for a 50% sell thru or higher. Sometimes if the item is worth more but has a slower sell thru then we’ll pick it up and list it lower to get it moving faster.
Thanks for sharing the story !
How do you factor the shipping material cost ? It's just a tax write off as a business expense ?
Yea, any materials or tools you use to operate the business is a tax write off!
Amazing and inspiring
I had never heard of mudjacking before. A valuable specialty business.
It really is!
So, I’m a thousand years older than you two, and have been both reselling and involved in UA-cam for many, many years. There is a channel from several years ago, called Prof Sales. He has rebooted his sales model a few times through the years, but his channel began with his “jeans only” eBay business. Also, if you like Chris, there is a channel called Hustlin’ Hooks, who have very much the same style and inventory control as Chris, but are a little more “fun” too. Their channel has been quiet for a while, but they have tons of videos uploaded. Not sure if you had ever viewed either of those channels, so I thought I would point you in their direction, you may glean some valuable information. Just found your channel last week, and are enjoying your stories.
Thanks for the links! I'm collecting UA-cam reseller subscriptions so that I can try to get up and running fast while learning from others.
Thanks for sharing! I’ll check them out!
@@carrieathome Hustlin Hooks is a shadow of its former self as Edin the husband had to return to the workforce. Their model was to buy in bulk from liquidators etc and ended up with mediocre clothing with poor sell-through rates. They should be watching you! lol
@@YourNaplesRealtorI had no idea. How did you find that out?
I truly believe that I could go full time too, but insurance at my husband’s job is astronomical. What do full timers do for health insurance for their family? I know that’s a bit off topic, but it’s my main concern. Thank you!
We use the healthcare marketplace ever since we’ve been self employed many many years ago. 😊
We curse Obama.
Awesome content congrats on 300k Do you share your eBay store? Also how much inventory would you say you usually have to hit your numbers
We’re on track for $300k sales so haven’t hit it yet! I have to maintain at least an 1800 item store (I sell my store over about 4 times a year).
Stay Blessed❤
I subscribed!!
Hi,
Congrats on your success. What kind of business model(sole proprietor, s-corp etc.) do u have and how do you do your bookkeeping? I'm just staring out but I'm a little confused. Also, out of 200K that you made in sales how much did you make net after paying income tax. Thanks
We run it as sole prop, but I definitely recommend finding a good tax person to help give advice and find many non-utilized tax write offs and deductions you may miss. When I feel ready, I'll share my numbers. :)
Curious… why not more platforms for reselling? Was or is there a reason why you didn’t sell in others places 😊 thank you
I just like selling on ebay! I have considered trying depop for some cooler items that may not sell as well on ebay. :)
Quiting jobs sounds nice! I will buy whatever you guys sell.
Would you share where you get your bag supplies from please? Thanks for the inspiring video!
We purchase them off of Amazon!
@@carrieathome Thank you!
So inspiring. I cant imagine how many hours you studied to learn more. While learning, can u estimate how many hours you put in daily or weekly?
I spent at least an hour a day every day attending calls and researching until I felt like I was getting the hang of it. By month 3, I was feeling pretty good!
How did you get the capital to buy the inventory? I have been building up for a few years, but the amount of capital to sell $100k is pretty significant.
We started with a little and then used the profits from the sales to confine buying more inventory. We didn’t have to do a large lump sum to get started. 👍
Every time I watch a successful reseller on UA-cam who tells us/brags about being able to list so many items per hour, I see that they are selling clothing. Easy to fold and stuff into a bag. No searching for the right size box, assembling the box, weighing the item, researching what the item is or will sell for, etc. All of these things take time! That’s what I have to do as I am a reseller who specializes in selling vintage collectibles and many of them are fragile and breakable. So I guess I’m coming to realize that it’s What you are selling that matters more than anything to be able to list 40 items a day, which is what is required to be a successful full time seller, I guess. With what I sell, there’s no way I can source 35 pieces of Vintage glassware etc a day and list that many or more per day.
you have more of a chance at finding items worth hundreds or thousands compared to clothing sellers. I am a clothing seller and we have to list X per day because our profit is lower as well as our ASP.
My theory is that there are a lot of clothing sellers because we’re swimming in them in America. Lol
Very inspiring
Question, you sell mostly jeans it seems. Do they sell good in the summer also?
They still sell in the summer but not as much as spring, fall, and winter 😊
Do you add in some other clothing items in summertime to account for lower Jean sales?
@@paulburns3165 that's the plan! We'll add some shorts and probably shirts too but still mainly adding jeans and pants to bulk for the fall/winter season.
@carrieathome Could you guys do a video on what specific Brands and styles of jeans you buy?
How much did you save in emergency funds before you switched to both being full time?
We had 3 months of an e fund, which may be risky to some!
Congrats! Do you promote your ebay listings?
Yup! I promote all my items except for the items that I know will fly off the shelf
Do you do 2% usually?@@carrieathome
I have been thinking about reselling on ebay. You said your total sales may exceed $300k this year. How many dollars of profit per hour of work does that translate into?
It can vary from $50-$200/hour when we’ve run rough math from time to time. It’s the sourcing that takes the longest (for us).
Please get on Techs podcast!
It’s happening this Friday!
