Just picked up mine for 75 bucks (harbor freight) from offer up…. LOVE IT thing is stout handles the LS 6.0 like it’s not even there

Mine just got in today. Thanks for the heads up in the small support bars. And I will also be checking for the loose bolts on the crank head. How has it been holding up?
I have another video showing me trying to tighten up the head with no luck. It turns engines easy. I haven't used it a lot but it should last my lifetime easy. Just wish it didn't have that slop.
@@mossman381 Just by looking at it I can tell the 2 further bolts on the two legs are gonna be interesting. May need to get a magnetic wrench or socket.

Saving $100 on a geared head stand I don't mind the scratches. That is probably why they have reduced the price on them. I have wanted one since they come out, but they were always to expensive. I have an excuse to custom paint it now.

When I bought mine it was the cheapest I have ever seen a geared head engine stand. There are some things that have gone up in price but not everything.
The cranks are pretty suspect. There is back lash in the rotation. Not sure how long it would last under routine use.
Looks like a decent stand. Too bad you have to modify stuff to get it to work properly. I've been asking for one of those Dewalt grease guns for Christmas for 3 years and still haven't got one :(
I think all the engine stands are pretty cheaply made. I really had trouble turning my big block upside down on my other stand. I have wanted one of these geared heads for a long time. Saving $100 the scratches don't really bother me. I have an excuse to custom paint it. The Dewalt grease gun is awesome. Dad has had one for years but it's always in his truck. Finally got one for the shop.
Have you used it, what's your thoughts about it?

I had problems with bb chevies
I llike Jegs. I do not think there prices are bad at all for what you get. But to be honest, not sure I would ever need the 1500lb one, I think the 1K one should be fine. But maybe I should get the 1500 as a precaution. I would like to see if there Gantry crane is good, I really need one of those pretty bad.
Last time I checked you can buy this one for less than the 1000lbs one.
you want clean welds from China? Lotsa luck.
I have seen some pretty bad American welds.

For the money a person could make their own stand. The hard part is the geared head.

Looks like junk not worth the money you paid for it
Scratches don't really bother me and that doesn't effect how it works. I will be using this so it will get dirty and probably more scratches. It's a tool not a piece of art. For a geared headed engine stand you will pay $400 plus no matter what brand you go with and they are all made pretty much the same. Gool luck finding a better one at this price.
