Nice job.. as a painter I'm gonna make a video for you on the softedge tape you were doing on the top of the door.. I think it would help. I started using a light like yours after watching you...Thanks

About the light on spray gun very nice I used to hold a drop light when I painted a complete could never see down below the sides or the rear bumpers that light on the spray gun is a great idea.
I have a problem!! I recently applied base /clear. I had a bad spot about the size of a fifty cent piece. I’ve sanded everything back but applying the base causes the clear around the edges to go crazy with spider cracks. Do I need to repaint the entire panel?
I’ve been in that position many times myself, it would almost never fail that everything would lay out beautifully-only to witness a moth land in the paint, & fluttering 😑! My blood pressure can jump simply thinking about it 😅. With things like that- I’ve tried many different things -sometimes I would get lucky but more often than not I would end up re-prepping, sealing, and respraying the whole panel. I’ve also had problems trying to melt away (blend) clears to prevent a noticeable crazed edge. Other guys would do it all day long but if there’s a possible way to mess it up…I will find that way! Especially with pewter or silver, I try one touch up and if it doesn’t take-I just go straight to the process of respraying the panel. However, I have never even considered trying what you just suggested here…🤯! I’ve automatically programmed myself to think…(🤔keep chemicals in their families, this ain’t the old lacquer days where you could get away with your tricks🫤… 😬mixing things now is a gamble, makes more work for you everytime🙄) …but after thinking about it for a few minutes… it really makes a lot of sense, I’ll have to write that down somewhere near my mixing area or I will forget and be searching through your videos and comments like a crazy person 😂! I trust you brother, I will take your advice and use it! Thank you Billy! 😊
Green is the best, cost a lot but worth it even the good masking paper super expensive I remember in the old days we use that green mask and paper. That’s all they had either that or newspaper😂😂😂😂😂😂

Billy, they say silver metallic is the most difficult to spray, and I have panel to paint when the weather gets a little warmer. Do you have any tips for spraying that paint before I start ?
Why us the fender gold ? Repaint fender & blend door & w/s post might as well throw in the hood too . Nothing matches . Better yet redue entire Job 😅 . TROLLLL 🍻
Wise and all-knowing Bondo Billy! Please tell me what settings you use on your YesWelder MiG-205 with fluxcore for 22 gauge sheet metal. Amps, volts, roller tension, and stick out. I’m blowin holes like a truckstop bathroom stall over here!! “I came. I saw. I SUBSCRIBED DAMMIT!” - Julius Caesar
I don’t have a MiG-205, but if I did I would set amps at 80 for 22ga. The flux core wire needs to be .030 for 22ga. If you’re blowing holes, you’re holding the trigger too long, and/or your stickout is too short. For 22ga, my stickout is about an inch and a half. Take a practice piece of 22ga and see how long it takes to blow a hole, then practice releasing the trigger before the blowout 😉😉
Your videos have helped me a lot I’m no body man just messing with old cars and trucks is a hobby of mine

The sign of a true professional, making it look easy 👍💪
It would’ve been easier if I’d had that cheap paint gun light the first time😉😉

Smooth it out and spray a couple coats of waterborne primer over it

90% overlap, not too wet
@@OldBondoBilly Thanks Billy.
Runs oh dear
It happens when Mr Magoo paints
If you ain't getting runs you and putting the paint on wet enough!
I try not to get them but it happens!
I rarely ever got runs back when I had depth perception 😗😗
They make special tape for this it’s called transition tape
I don’t trust people whose pronouns are “they” and “them”🤣🤣🤣
Lol ok the company is called 3M you might’ve heard of them
@kenanderson1509 I’m already using an expensive roll of 3M tape, plus I’m not a whiny little snot-nose who can’t fold a piece of tape🤣🤣🤣
