    Just finished this project and it is absolutely amazing! It took me about a month working on it on and off, but it was well worth putting the time in to get it right. Thanks!

    Out of all the laptop bags I've seen in my youtube rabbit hole search, this is by far the best one out there. Such masterful work and I hope to make something half as decent when I attempt this as an anniversary gift. Your work is lovely!!!

    The pattern is great for this one Tony. All the holes and cuts line up perfectly and the assembly was very smooth. I upgraded to the post and burr rivets like you recommend on one of your other bags for where the straps and handle attach and that's working out really well. Also, I used some oil tanned leather and that effect is really nice. Thanks for the awesome patterns and videos.

    Hello,
    I like the color and tone of the piece ... it looks like something aged by the edges ... could you tell me what color you have used to dye the leather? Thanks.

    this is EXACTLY what i was looking for for a wheelchair bag, and i can add more straps so i can attach it however i need to!
    … now i just need to find someone to teach me how to work with leather 😅
    or maybe i can convert it to a fabric pattern-

    hey Tony, Is there some reason that the 3 holes for the flap straps and mounts are not on the printed plans? you show then on your video that the holes are punched on the two sides or the handle, however when you print the pattern the hole locations are not on printed.Just wondering if there was a reason for this. Otherwise its a great bag. I did a custom version of this for my oldest son and made the bag 2" deeper front to back. I also lined all the inside of the leather as he had chose some oiled leather and was concerned with any dye coming off on his school books.

    • @DieselpunkRo
      @DieselpunkRo  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, absolutely. You need to lay the strap flat on the closed bag and see exactly where the holes fall so you can mark it precisely yourself. This way you ensure a perfect fit. It is all as intended :p

    I am almost finished with cutting and punching all pieces. At 25:59 in the topmost strap there is a rivet hole that is like 4.5 or 5mm. Is there a reason why it's bigger than the other rivet holes? I don't want to make it too big accidently

    Hiya Tony
    New to all this. Your 1.5 mm hole punch. Is it a round punch as it seems to have more of an oblong shape than a round shape. Any chance of a link where you get them from please?
    Fantastic channel and fantastic work.

    Very nice piece. What are the internal measurements? My laptop is 17"x12"x1.5". Looking at your cutting mat its around 24" so would it be around 18"x16"x3". If so that's another on to the shopping list.

    I am a little disappointed in the pattern. I got it printed but there are no written instructions about how to tape or paste it together so I think I have most of it figured out but there are some places that I am not sure about. I layed it out. taped it together the way i think it goes cut out the leather but now as I look at it I am thinking that I may not have some of the straps and such right and if that is the case I have wasted some leather. There needs to be better instructions on that part. it does look like a nice bag, I am doing it for my daughter.
