Oh my gosh! All over tik tok and Instagram, so many “clean ingredients” influencers have recommended hello hello and Millie moon. I’m glad I watched this before adding them to my cart 🤯
Thanks for watching! I’ve heard this from many people. That’s why it’s dangerous to listen to unqualified influencers and rely on social media for health related news without researching further. I’m glad you didn’t fall prey to this!
People love to say “oh we LOVEEE Kirkland or store generic “ that’s totally fine. But keep trying to see what’s truly the “BEST “ out there . Because that is what our little BABIES deserve 🎉
Hi Yvonne, thank you for taking the time to do a deep dive on such an important topic. Especially when it comes to the health of our babies. Both my husband and I are research scientists and we thought we did enough research when it came to our baby products. We're so grateful to you for making this video. Thank you so much!
I started buying ecoriginals two and half months ago after watching this video. We started our newborn with coterie. And I LOVE ECORIGINALS. They have contained blowouts something I had issues with coterie and are absorbent. I can only compare sizing to coterie but coterie ran super small my 5 month old wears a 5 in coterie and a 3 in ecoriginals.
Thank you so much for making this video and creating a UA-cam channel to share your expertise with us! You deserve way more subs! As a first time mom that plans to mostly cloth diaper and supplement with disposables, this video has been extremely helpful. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. I am really trying to start to detox our lives as much as I can and this was so helpful. I was searching all over the internet to find information about diaper brands and to have it all in one place was so helpful.
@@dryvonneburkartMay I ask a question? I am trying to switch to cloth diapers and there are so many different kinds of materials that the diapers and the inserts are made of. Some are polyester, some are microfiber, cotton, or bamboo. The expensive brands are 100 percent cotton and I am wanting to go with those. However my husband isn’t sold on the more expensive brands and wants to know why the polyester would be harmful to the baby. Are they actually absorbing it? What chemicals/materials do I really need to avoid even in cloth diapers? How do I know the cotton being used is even a safe product? I know you mentioned polyester at the end of the video so I am just looking for more info or even a video discussing this. Thanks so much!
Before watching this I was using Coterie on my baby. Didn’t love always felt wet. After watching we switched over to ecoriginals and wow! Would of difference In the product. Absolutely love them! And they are better for environment 🙌

Thanks for watching! Great question! EcoPea is also in the "Best" category based on the materials, transparency, and responsiveness. Ive never heard of ecoriginals, ive heard of all kinds of "healthier diapers" as well. Will look into them though so thanks for sharing. We mostly use cloth diapers and for those i use the esembly system. I did use prefolds and covers for several months at first because she was a preemie and the esembly would have been absolutely massive, shes about 7 months now and still only on the second snaps of the size 1 esembly. I dont always use the cover if we are at home but if i need it waterproof i do. Ive tried wool covers before but always had a hard time learning to wash them, my lanolin would clump up or the whole cover would shrink so i think it was figuring out the water temp primarily. I used other cloth diapers on my oldest because esembly wasnt around for my now 13 year old and i tried many kinds but mostly used econobum prefolds and covers and i used seventh generation disposables on him but they didnt have anywhere near the options as now and nobody was transparent about anything whatsoever at that point. They didnt have dyes or colorings on the outside back then like they do now but i dont know much else about the safety of them then or now. For my daughter weve used disposables as we were given them of all different brands . But for both its been primarily cloth because i know its cotton that i wash myself with what i choose.
EC + cloth all the way (ideally organic fabrics) so happy we did this with our 2nd child now 12mo and only wearing cotton training undies with cloth nappies over night. Huge game changer, would love to see EC become normal again in our culture it’s been lost through the generations. Even just having baby poo in a potty saves you so much effort and mess.
Thanks for watching ☺️ Excellent question! I would use the Disana wool outer cover with the Esembly diaper inner, which has plastic snaps. Or for a totally plastic-free option, I would use folded organic cotton inside the Disana wool cover. This is great! I was gon switch from coterie to dyper because that extra 70% absorption really doesn’t mean much to me since my baby girl will scream as she is peeing 😂😂 and I like bamboo for baby’s skin!
Hi there! So thankful for all the great content you create. I’ve been using the Kudos brand diapers and am curious what your thoughts are on the brand.
Amazing and wonderful information, thank you for the great video! I tried looking in the comments, but I was wondering about the brand Freestyle diapers and wipes? We are using HealthyBaby right now because we can get them in store, along with the Freestyle brand diapers. Thank you!
So sorry to bother you again. We’ve been using Ecoriginals and Eco Pea Co per your recommendations. The Ecoriginals are a bit softer and better for us with less blowouts, thankfully. Any chance you can give a review of the new Dyper charcoal diapers? Thank you again for what you do.
Hi Rob! It's never a bother. It's my joy to answer questions to help parents navigate the jungle. I've been hearing a lot about Dyper charcoal diapers and have to look into them! Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi! I just purchased a few Dyper X ... it their larger diaper. But I just notice it seems to be different material. Is there anything here I should be overly concerned about? I copied and pasted the content of the diaper below. Textile Content: Outside Cover: 30-50% PLA and 50-70% Viscose From Bamboo Fibers, Inside Cover and Legcuffs: 100% PP, Inner Film: 100% PLA, Elastics: 100% PU, Others. Thank you--this was super informative. Would love a video on baby wipes as well! What do you think of the Honest Company baby wipes? I'm torn between those and Eco Wave Wipes. Also, what about the Bambo Nature Wipes? They seem to have a good ingredient list, and we will be going for their diapers based on your review!
Thanks for watching! A baby wipes video is in the queue. I would consider Eco Wave since their ingredients list is simple and the wipes material is biodegradable.
Try Libero diapers from Scandinavia... Bambo is Abena from Denmark but they Are beaten by Libero.. wich is Essity ownership and they make Libero and Tena diapers
I’m so happy I found your channel! I just subscribed. Can you make a video of nontoxic cleaners? I recently made the switch to Force of Nature. Wondering if this is the safest option.
If you could not buy eco originals which one would you buy if you needed to? I’m having to stick to healthy baby for now but just wondering if that’s the next best option in your opinion
Pura advertises lots of great features that one would want in a diaper, but several questions come to mind. The first is whether they have test reports to validate their claims of "No Nasties. Parabens, phthalates, fragrances, optical brighteners, chlorine, latex, lotions." The process of manufacturing can create and introduce contaminants and toxins not intentionally added. Second, they say "The outer layer is "enhanced with organic cotton" but we need to see GOTS certification to prove it's truly organically grown. I'd also like to see the percentage of plant-derived and biodegradable materials. Without these, I can't make a judgement call. I would not use Parasol diapers since they're primarily made of petroleum-derived plastics.
@@dryvonneburkart last question, is parasol and coterie basically the same thing or would recommend one over the other? I also saw heathlybaby will now be available in target. Is that a clearer option?
Thanks for the great info! I just picked up some Dyper brand at Walmart, but realized they now say elemental chlorine free. Yet they still hold the OEKO TEX standard certification. Would this keep them at the same rating in your opinion?
Hi Jamie! The problem with TCF is that I have yet to see any companies that can back up this claim with testing reports, so at best, it seems to be just a claim. The OEKO-TEX seal does provide some assurance that some of the chlorinated chemicals of concern associated with ECF are below safe levels.
Great info thanks for making this video. I had a question regarding Dyper, and their change in ingredients. Would like to know what is your take on this?
You’re doing really important work. Thanks so very much for this. I’ve been using Millie Moon for my 3 yr olds entire life… I had no idea, I thought it was a safe choice… He has a speech delay, and I wonder every day which of my bad choices contributed, in terms of chemicals, etc:( Switching diaper brands immediately.
I’m so thankful to have discovered your Channel! Just wondering if you ever used Joonya nappies? I love using them and was founded here in Australia but pretty sure they are now available in US.
Thanks for watching! I’ve used Joonya diapers and wipes in the past but have not requested test reports for them. Great idea to include this brand in the next diaper video!
The best way to know is by contacting them. The hope is that the more people who ask these questions the more transparent and forthcoming they will be. Strength in numbers 💪🏽
i really want to go with the ecoriginals diapers but theyre super expensive, difficult to find at common registry sites, and ive seen a ton of reviews about their inability to contain blowouts
Do what works for you 🙌🏽 The issue with blowouts could be if the diaper is too small. We found that bigger diaper = less blowout because there’s more absorbent material to catch 💩. Everyone is different and you’ve got to experiment to find the best option for you. Ecoriginals is there best option for safety based on my extensive research and this review isn’t on efficacy. That’s for each person to figure out for themselves.
They replied to my inquiries for contaminant test reports but their response was insufficient for me to formulate a conclusion, so I can't fully recommend them.
Thank you again for your videos! They are so informative. What are your thoughts on Kudos (My apologies if you have already responded to this question in the chat and I missed it). They claim to be 100% unbleached cotton on their inner layer that touches the baby.
Great question! TinkyPoo claims to have "no harmful chemicals" but we'd have to see if they can provide any test reports to back this up. They also mention organic cotton inner lining, which is great. I recommend avoiding are bright prints and wetness indicators since we don't know what chemicals they're made of making them red flags.
They didn’t reply to my inquiries for test reports and it appears they’re made from petroleum. I can’t recommend them since they didn’t respond, so the only information we have is their website, which isn’t clear.
did you look at Attitude brand diapers? I think they tick a lot of boxes, but unfortunately we had a lot of blow outs with them! the fit just wasn't great.
Could you do a review on the best cloth diapers and the pros and cons of them? I know some cloth diaper inserts are made primarily out of polyester anyway, so is this even any better for their bodies?
some of the major disposable diaper brands have been around for decades such as Pampers/Luvs and working middle class parents can't always go the all natural route my parents didn't have that luxury in the 80s when they had their children who are now grown
Thanks for watching! Pura seems like a better choice, but it’s unclear from their website what the topsheet that’s in direct contact with Baby is made of. We also need to see a contaminant test report to know if there are plasticizers etc.
Hi! What are your opinions on Joonya diapers? Their site says they are TCF and FSC certified Baby girl due end of this month and im on a rabbit hole for diapers! Greatly appreciate all of the information youve been sharing 🙏
Hi Yvonne, I’m a little bit concerned about bamboo diapers since they use bamboo viscose that it’s like using rayon. I read that when bamboo is processed into fabric, it has likely been turned into rayon or viscose using toxic chemicals. Please let me know why do you recommend those diapers since I’m a little bit confused.
I understand your concern. Let’s consider the landscape of disposable diapers. There is no completely “no risk” or perfect disposable diaper. The alternative is petroleum derived plastic, which is much more high risk than bamboo. Another option is cloth diapers like I mentioned in the video. The least risky option is no diapers at all and using the Elimination Communication Method.
Thank you for researching so many different brands. It would have been great if you had included more about cloth diapers too as an environmentally friendly and safer choice. I used them for three kids and it worked out just fine. It seems like there is less support for that now than there was even a generation ago, and it was not the norm then. Now, most people just get Costco and call it good. = (
Thank you so much for this information!! I never even heard of the ECORIGINALS. I do have a question do you think the wipes out chemical free I was thinking or ordering there wipes in the bundle? Thank you I was thinking the goat milk wipes?
Parasol appears to use petroleum-derived plastics for their diapers, which already prevents them from being in the "Best" category unfortunately. If they're able to provide test reports to back up their "Clean Natural Diapers Without: Chlorine, alcohol, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, lotion, parabens, phthalates, preservatives, latex, heavy metals." claim, then they can potentially be in the "Better" category, but just based on the info on their website they're not there yet.
This was so helpful! I've been using honest diapers and am so sad I didnt do research before I chose them. 😔 do you do a video on cloth diapers? I have some from ella bella bum I've been trying to get into using but you mentioned there are bad things in cloth diapers too! Would love to learn more from you and how to navigate cloth diapers. I dont know if my budget can do dyper but I'd love if it did!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad it was helpful. I haven't made a video on cloth diapers, but that's a great idea. My kids are out of diapers, but if I were to diaper I would look for GOTS organic cotton liners and a wool outer cover like Disana.
Hi! first, well thanks for your hard work and informations you gathered! I was wondering if you have the chance to look theses diapers : Eco Pea co I wonder how they compare to the Ecoriginals!? If possible, let me know! From a grateful soon to be mother^^
In a previous video you recommended also EcopeasCo and handyPandy. I'm curious to know why they didn't make this chart and if you still recommend them! Thank you so much for these videos!!
They did make the cut initially, but didn't reply with contaminant test reports so lost points for lack of transparency and responsiveness. If I were in a pinch or out of options I would still use them temporarily.
Can you please update when info is received? Andy pandy is the most cost effective between the three top you had recommended and I’m anxious to know if they’re safe to use. Otherwise because of cost we’ll end up in coterie, eco boom or bambo naturals
In regards to baby’s health, how safe are the newer Freestyle Diapers? They seem to be very transparent on their website. Do they have any red flags? (Environmental impact aside.) I found them to be TCF. They do have water soluble inks for designs along with a wetness indicator. Since the inks are water-soluble, are the inks non-toxic? Is the wetness indicator made out of water-soluble ink as well?
I can’t recommend this brand because they’re likely using petroleum-derived plastic to make their diapers. It’s challenging to uncover their material sources.
What about similar products for adults? Like menstrual pads, incontinence pads and panties, and incontinence pads for laying on in the bed and adult wipes?
Thanks for watching! Eco by Naty is a brand we were using, but they have not been able to provide any contaminant testing reports, so they're in the "Better" category just based on the information on their website. If a brand can provide test reports that are clean, then they can potentially reach the "Best" category.
Thanks so much for this video. I was wondering if you could take a look at presidents choice green super absorbent disposable diapers. I’ve been trying to do my own research, but with my limited knowledge it’s hard to get a real result..
Do you not recommend the Ecoriginals wipes? I would assume that their wipes are just as good as their diapers but maybe I’m wrong. Thank you so much for these videos and research. 😊
I think they’re really trying to make a better diaper, but there’s some greenwashing. The best way to know if their diapers are releasing toxicants is by asking them for test reports.
@@dryvonneburkart hi! Can I ask a question. I emailed dyper and asked them if they are total chlorine free. This was the response. " Our diapers are chlorine free. We currently use an elemental chlorine free (ECF) bleached, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood fluff pulp in our absorbent core. ECF bleaching is a chlorine-free process in that no elemental (molecular) chlorine is used in the bleaching sequences, and has been shown to result in an end product that is free of dioxins and toxic chemicals. In addition to this, ECF fluff pulp has been found to produce more fluff pulp using less resources, making it a more sustainable option when compared to totally chlorine free (TCF) bleached fluff pulp. " I'm a little confused does this mean they aren't TCF? Are you able to tell me if you still recommend this brand?

What do you think about Thrive Market Baby Diapers?
I'll make an updated diaper review video!
Thank you for sharing this information video, I respect your opinion and I learn many new things about this product
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Great info thanks for making this video. I had a question regarding Dyper, and their change in ingredients. Would like to know what is your take on this?
Thanks for watching! Which ingredients changed?
@@dryvonneburkartThey are not TCF anymore.
You’re doing really important work. Thanks so very much for this.
I’ve been using Millie Moon for my 3 yr olds entire life…
I had no idea, I thought it was a safe choice…
He has a speech delay, and I wonder every day which of my bad choices contributed, in terms of chemicals, etc:(
Switching diaper brands immediately.
I’m glad I could help. I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself as a mom 💜. You’re doing the best you can and these companies need to do better by consumers.
Have you heard of every life diapers and wipes? Would you recommend?
I’m so thankful to have discovered your Channel! Just wondering if you ever used Joonya nappies? I love using them and was founded here in Australia but pretty sure they are now available in US.
Thanks for watching! I’ve used Joonya diapers and wipes in the past but have not requested test reports for them. Great idea to include this brand in the next diaper video!
What are your thoughts on cloth diapers?
Can you do a follow up to Coterie? I see now they are saying it’s 25% plant based, so maybe they’d indicate what’s in the wetness indicator?
The best way to know is by contacting them. The hope is that the more people who ask these questions the more transparent and forthcoming they will be. Strength in numbers 💪🏽
@@dryvonneburkarthey! What do you know about Pura diapers??
i really want to go with the ecoriginals diapers but theyre super expensive, difficult to find at common registry sites, and ive seen a ton of reviews about their inability to contain blowouts
Hello! I was wondering if you’ve researched Nest Diapers? I’ve read them but I want to make sure it’s good!
They replied to my inquiries for contaminant test reports but their response was insufficient for me to formulate a conclusion, so I can't fully recommend them.
Can you please do one for shampoo for hair & body + lotions and oils?!!!
Yes it's coming!
Very informative video. Could you please do an analysis on the pura brand wipes and diapers.
Thank you again for your videos! They are so informative. What are your thoughts on Kudos (My apologies if you have already responded to this question in the chat and I missed it). They claim to be 100% unbleached cotton on their inner layer that touches the baby.
She covers Kudos @15:08
Thanks! I need to figure out the timestamps 😁
Would love your thoughts on TinkyPoo diaper brand. Claims to be harsh chemical free.
Thank you so much for making this video! So helpful👏👍
Glad it was helpful!
You mention the “Dyper” brand however, how do the Charcoal Enhanced version of these diapers measure up on your toxicology review?
I'm not convinced of any actual need for charcoal in a disposable diaper. I think it's a marketing thing.
What about rascal and friends?
They didn’t reply to my inquiries for test reports and it appears they’re made from petroleum. I can’t recommend them since they didn’t respond, so the only information we have is their website, which isn’t clear.
So I still don’t know what to get lol are reusable the best for baby, since it’s just cotton?
Yes I would do reusable organic cotton if my kids were still in diapers.
did you look at Attitude brand diapers? I think they tick a lot of boxes, but unfortunately we had a lot of blow outs with them! the fit just wasn't great.
Could you do a review on the best cloth diapers and the pros and cons of them? I know some cloth diaper inserts are made primarily out of polyester anyway, so is this even any better for their bodies?
Great idea
some of the major disposable diaper brands have been around for decades such as Pampers/Luvs and working middle class parents can't always go the all natural route my parents didn't have that luxury in the 80s when they had their children who are now grown
Thanks for making this! Helps FTMs make the right decision on diapers. What is your take on pura diapers?
Thanks for watching! Pura seems like a better choice, but it’s unclear from their website what the topsheet that’s in direct contact with Baby is made of. We also need to see a contaminant test report to know if there are plasticizers etc.
Hello! Thank you for this video. Have you heard of Terra Diapers? If so, any thoughts?
Thanks for watching! I've reached out to the company for contaminant test reports and they didn't reply, so I can't say they're good, sadly.
Have you checked out the attitude brand diapers at all? Are they “safe and clean”
Based on their website, they appear to be in the better category, but we need to see a full contaminant report to know for certain.
Hi! What are your opinions on Joonya diapers? Their site says they are TCF and FSC certified
Baby girl due end of this month and im on a rabbit hole for diapers!
Great suggestion!
Thank you so much for this information!! I never even heard of the ECORIGINALS. I do have a question do you think the wipes out chemical free I was thinking or ordering there wipes in the bundle? Thank you I was thinking the goat milk wipes?
The wipes are also low tox in my opinion.
Thank you so much for this review! What are your thoughts on Terra diapers?
The materials look decent, but they never replied to my email inquiries for contaminant test reports, so I can't recommend them.
@@dryvonneburkart thank you!
Any updates from the responses since the video?
No unfortunately no responses
What about Parasol?
What did you use when they were in diapers? @@dryvonneburkart
Hi!
first, well thanks for your hard work and informations you gathered!
I was wondering if you have the chance to look theses diapers : Eco Pea co
I wonder how they compare to the Ecoriginals!?
If possible, let me know!
From a grateful soon to be mother^^
Thanks for your support! EcoPea is also a better option based on my research
Damn 😂 she’s eating these brands up! Keep it up, gotta keep them accountable
What about Pureborn or Cottony? We would be happy to know more
In a previous video you recommended also EcopeasCo and handyPandy.
What about rascals & friends diapers . Please and thank you
I can’t recommend this brand because they’re likely using petroleum-derived plastic to make their diapers. It’s challenging to uncover their material sources.
Thank you so much !
What about the Terra brand? I heard they are great. They have wipes and diapers.
What about similar products for adults? Like menstrual pads, incontinence pads and panties, and incontinence pads for laying on in the bed and adult wipes?
Unfortunately, they have similar issues. Check out my video about period underwear.
Also what do you think about eco by Naty?
Thanks for watching! The Ecoriginals wipes are also low tox. 👍🏽 The ingredients list is simple and the wipes are biodegradable.
Thank you! Do you consider them one of the best? Any other recommendations? 😊
What are nest diapers?
I saw Nest Baby Diapers on Amazon. Is that what you're asking about?
Can you please review the brand Terra diapers? They claim to be 100% biodegradable and plant based other than the snaps.
What about happy little campers?
I'm a little confused does this mean they aren't TCF? Are you able to tell me if you still recommend this brand?
Hi, such great information provided, thank you. What about Costco diapers? What is your review. And also what about Nest baby diapers? Thanks.
Hi what do you think about the brand pura ?
I'll make an updated diaper review video!
