Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a co-op commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 e-sports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN.
Though this project is a work in progress, and there are errors that will need to be fixed, so point them out if you spot any! The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy! - Ігри
Hello there, general zergoni
Round 1 ▶ 100 Marines vs 1000 (0/0) Zerglings
Round 2 ▶ 18 Hellbats and 5 Thors vs 15 Zealots and 10 Immortals
Round 3 ▶ 20 Marines and 5 Medivacs vs 25 Zerglings and 10 Roaches
Round 4 ▶ 6 Archons and 5 Carriers vs 30 Marines and 15 Cyclones
When will we see 1 probe versus 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Odins?
What does mean red/blue parameter under the mineral/gas value?
I always forget just how big of a difference upgrades can make until I see stuff like this. That marine vs zergling match was nuts
It's mainly due to marines short damage interval(meaning +1 damage is a lot) and zerglings low damage per shot, meaning that armour is dropping incoming damage like a rock
It matters most to small units, big ones don't care as much
@@rory8182 Also due to them having hit-scan weapons that hit instantly, so not a single shot is wasted.
“HOLD THE LINE, KEEP FIRING!!!”
@@rory8182 yeah that's it. Zergling damage is down to (going by SC1 memory) 2 per hit? Is that at least 20 hits per marine, while a marine needs perhaps 4 to kill a ling?
If there's one lesson totalbiscuit taught me back in the day that I'll never forget, it's that nothing is scarier than 3/3 marines.
wrgg
I've never seen zerglings die so quickly. I don't know if it's the Terran in me or what but it was a work of art that brought a tear to my eye
I wish there was a first person view for that.
Not only did the marines win, but almost a third of them survived.
wrrr
Vote: Marines
Marines handle upgrades practically better than anyone else.
Result: Win
Vote: Protoss
The Terran here always loses, this shouldn't be any different.
Result: Loss
Vote: Terran
Marines and healing? Yes.
Result: Loss
Vote: Protoss
Two of its strongest units vs Marines and Cyclops?
Result: Loss
Total Results: 1/4.
>:(
I go 0 today haha!
I got 4/4 :P
reason is simple
1. was obvious upgrades + marines are mid range units + they have stim packs
2. i gambled that the firebats may tank damage from the immortals before they target the Thors
3. marines and med vac? against zerglings and roaches? I was sure they would just get out dps'ed by the roaches plus there was only 5 med vacs.
4. cyclops are good against Protoss aren't they like anti tank? and marines I would believe be meat shields basically lol I mean they can't really win against archons and carriers but the cyclops was obviously the main point.
these are my opinions and its also a 50/50 and if you apply common sense it can be 100%
@@jakepark1346 weh!
@@jakepark1346 Archon has tremendous shields though. Even Cyclones require a bit of time to take them down. I was really surprised how quickly archon died. Was betting on their shields and let carriers to quickly kill anything in its sight.
wrrr
Finally a Cyclone fight that people can't whine that it's not micro'd
Shoutouts to the Medivacs, someone gets to tell their commander they lost
... I'ma be honest the most shocking thing about that opening fight was "MVP: *25 Kills."*
for me in general making attack/armor upgrades feels kinda lame, when you're pumping out units and u have to spend those resources on a +1 upgrade that take quite some times to research it feels kinda odd.
But then i see those videos and remember why i should allways prioritize to get that +1 upgrade lol
Attack upgrades also help you kill buildings faster since they don't get additional armor, other than terran buildings.
@@crumble1400 Only buildings that don't get affected are Zerg buildings since Protoss buildings get shield upgrades
@@dondaketype8811 Yeah, but shield is always the last thing to be upgraded in competitive play (this is true for the Terran upgrade too though)
@@JWQweqOPDH dunno why people don't do shield upgrades early, just 50 extra gas and minerals upgrades ground/ air and buildings , seems like a good deal.
@@_Wai_Wai_ I think it's because you don't have a lot of air early on, and you have less shields than armor, so it's a waste until later.
3/4
1) 3/3 marines are just too strong in comparison to 0/0 zerglings
2) I went for protoss bc I thought the immortals would dessintegrate all enemy units, but I was surprised at how tanky those hellbats were
3) Too many roaches, too much hp for the marines to chew through
4) carriers suck
It's quite easy, if protoss has less than 2x the ressources vs other races, they lose. TvZ is harder to guess...
You'd think immortals would kill hellbats quickly, but hellbats are light, and immortals only do massive damage to armoured targets.
Also, not only do carriers suck, they would have lost way harder in if the cyclones all used there lock ons. As it was, only 1 cyclone locked on per carriers, because that's how the default cyclone AI works, vastly reducing there potential damage output.
Hellbats are ligth and imortals do a peanuts 20-26 damage agaisnt non-armored, as opposed to their more chunky 50-65 agaisnt armored, making them fold rather harshly agasint any ligth weigth unit.
That whole wave was to see if the hellbats could hold the inmortals back long enough for the thors to carve out a good advantage
Ah yes carriers the sucky unit that requires 300 apm army micro to beat while your opponent a moves.
Carriers suck in this game yeah, especially vs units like Cyclones. In a real game they can be a nightmare to fight against.
The second battle, problem is zealots, they die too quickly against hellbats.
They have to envelope the hellbats. If they do the lots win. otherwise the damage cone is enough to take them out.
I think the fact that they are light also made the immortals deal like 1 damage to them
2/4. Heavy calculations on Marines and Hellbats paid off. Didn't understand medevac healing and was shocked that 3 cyclones can take down a carrier at equal upgrades.
I want to see the barbecue of 200 non-upgraded marines vs 5 fully upgraded battlecruisers now :) Maybe giving the marines stimpacks to make the fight go quicker.
4/4!!! Starting to learn a lot about how units really handle themselves absent good micro. And how good Terran can really be
Finally my first 4/4, took me long enough!
2/4 this time.
Upgraded marines were a given for me. The upgraded armor and combat shield meant that the un-upgraded zerglings were basically doing tickle damage. But wow, I was not expecting Hellbat/Thor to win based on past performances. Good job! Thought marine/medivac would be able to handle the wave of zergs until I remembered how resilient roaches were >.
That one marine: GET SOME!
beautiful rounds
Welcome to "how shit is pathing" where some how half the zergling army is on one side of the fight and doing nothing
I got all but Nr. 3. I guess that was the one time to bet against Marines :)
can we see like raven + unupgraded reaper vs. unupgraded roach + queen or something? i feel like anti armor could work really well for reapers given they attack rapidly.
Aaaand the winning Marines form up into a T-shape. Perfect!
Didn't we have the exact same Battle 1 Month ago in the Video "Can 100 Upgraded Marines survive 1000 unupgraded Zerglings?" or am I missing something?
Yeah idk I remembered that video too, Tya getting lazy I guess
I think this video was about 1000 unupgraded zerglings vs 100 zerglings with full upgrades
You are right, I'm so sorry. I lost track of what I've done and what I haven't, and so I took a day off to work on keeping better records because honestly I'm embarrassed that this happened.
@@Tya. No worries, mistakes happen. I was just a bit confused. Keep up the good work. Love your videos. Take care :)
Hey, what mod or arcade game mode do you use? This seems fun to mess with
damn those carriers got bodied by thomas the siege engines
But medevacs didn’t die, so technically it’s a draw.
how do you use the unit text to speech?
This was beautiful especially immortal stomping.
P.S. I hate immortals and extremely biased about it, so everytime I see them lose it puts a smile on my face :-)
Care to explain your hatred towards the beautiful unit that is the immortal?
@@Rappenem I don't feel it's well balanced (or was well balanced) :-/ (IMO)
between its affordable cost, incredible native tankiness, outrageous damage potential against anything with high cost and infuriating synergy with prism I feel it is too much. Sure it has no anti-air capabilities (thank God), but protoss has enough anti-air to largely ignore it.
I have never felt it's fair to play with immortals on my side or against them. Of course it was before void rays became new poison, but thankfully I moved on other games long ago. Still watching sc2 content and still biased against immortals though.
Does the marine/ling fight always break down like that? I feel like the Lings all bunched up on one side which really limited their damage potential.
What does mean red/blue parameter under the mineral/gas value?
These fights are usually closer
Tya what do I need to do to get you back to Hero Line Wars Starling? This is the best mode
I had no faith in the marines, that was crazy
How many marine + medivac would it take in this similar scenario?
1/4
Tough day at the office
Holy shit! The Cyclone actually won something
Bro i suck at these, incredible
When the Zerglings made contact with the Marines I honestly thought it was over. Figured the marines would not be able to kill the zerglings before they lost too much firepower.
Instead they won.
Oh yes, finally one where I guessed everything correctly. It was about time.
1 - 3/3 marines should melt through the lings, that should be a slaughter.
2 - Hellbats will melt the zealots, but immortals are going to melt the Thors. But the hellbats are probably going to tank a few shots from the immortals.
3 - I don't think 5 medivacs are enough to heal 20 marines against this
4 - No idea, but cyclones always surprise me with their DPS. Maybe they will hammer through.
2/4
Terran×Protoss vs. Zerg battles soon? :3
MARINES RULE. I wonder when will be the time, when even I would get annoyed doing that
do more co-op unit vs co-op unit battles
How a squad of 100 held off an army of 1000
I thought the Marines would stim themselves to death fighting the onslaught on Zerglings. Boy was I wrong.
Got the hellbat+thor right,
but the rest were fiery misses🙃!
2/4 never trust every time in immortals and when cyclones can make damage before dying, they can be powerful!
Wow they finally won, but with support
3/3! I missed one completely so I didnt vote (probably wouldve missed round 3 tho XD)
32 marines will go back to the barracks.
I think.
4/4 boys
+Upgrades matter a lot for fast attacking units
+ Hellbats are light units so it will take them for the immortals to kill them
+ Not enough fire power
+ Lock on vs big units? Easy
This should be good
Never forget upgrades. They matter :) Also, those Zealots melted way too fast. The Immortals wasted too many shots killing Hellbats (non-armored) and the Thors just wasted them.
Cyclones always suck unless I pick against them
4/4
Always remember Helion/Hellbat is not an armored type unit. Immortal would not have an easy time against them. That made enough time for Thors to do their job.
4/4 today. :D
Marines 3/3 meaning unupgraded zerglings do basically no damage. Easy marine pick.
Thors + Hellbats vs Immortals + Zealots was sketch but I guessed the Hellbats would win and do enough tanking for the Thors to win.
Marine + Medivac vs Roach + Zergling Easy Zerg vote. Roaches shielded by lings for big burst damage.
Archon + Carrier vs Marine + Cyclone would be harder if there wasn't focus fire but there is so easy Terran pick.
3/4 Zerglings just plain suck without speed upgrade. Im also very suprised how long it took for immortals to kill the hellbats. it was very disappointing
Hellbats are still considered light despite being so chunky, so the immortals don’t actually counter them at all.
@@NewLegacy93 Really? A light armored mech? who would'a thought
@@bleh491 Ravagers are also not armoured despite evolving from and being basically identical to the roach. Game balance can be really unintuitive.
3/4, first time I have overestimated Immortals. Turns out, Hellbats can tank their shots pretty well!
Hellbats but yeah
Hellbats, not Firebats. Firebats probably would've lost horribly.
@@gimmethegepgun undoubtedly. Hellbats are light, firebats are armoured.
Hellbats were actually useful? Shocking!
If i remember archons attacks are strong vs organic and weak vs armored.
>Terran: upgrades op, marines op, unupgraded lings crap
win
>Terrain: the zealots should insta die to hellbats, and then it's just immortals vs everything
win
>Zerg: this is tricky, but if roaches manage to focus marines down they win
win
>Terran: archons are rly scary, but unupgrade carriers should do no damage to upgraded units
win
4/4
First fight: how Dominion propaganda shows it. Second and third fights: what actually happens.
2/4, as Always, do your upgrades, kids.
4/4 nice
Marines assuming the glorious T for Terran formation again.
part of me just really like seeing protoss army getting owned for some reason...
When I see people saying that Zergs are OP lmao!
Got every single prediction wrong lol
0:27 (T)erran Pose
haven't we seen these before?
Roaches and medivacs vs stalkers?
Lol stim prob took a good chuck of the damage
100 vs 1000 --
I thought the 5:1 resource differential would win out
Didn't battle with Medivacs end in a tie? In the end both sides retained units which cannot affect each other.
If I were to choose medivacs or roaches to attack someone with, I'd go with the roaches
@@kingscab3634 but for sending as reinforcements, this amount of Medivacs could perhaps be more useful than the remaining Roaches
So I got 3/4. If it's Terran, they'll usually win.
I got all of them wrong!
/4
Remember your upgrades, people.
...... What? There were more Hellbats than Zealots, and Immortals do pitiful damage to non-armored. This one feels almost rigged for the Terran.
Medivacs are good, but they ain't THAT good.
Nah, that numbers advantage is too big. Archons and Carriers are amazing units, but that's a whole-ass 30 Marines with Cyclone backup.
im such a fool to vote against big daddy thor
3/4
This proves how important it is to upgrade your units. 3/3 Marines stomp on anything not upgraded.
Only one I got wrong. I thought Immortals could kill the Hellbats faster.
The Roaches and Zerglings only had to kill the Marines, so the Medivac's healing wasn't gonna matter a hill of beans.
The Marine and Cyclone combo was just enough DPS to pound through the Archons and get to the Carriers, which the Cyclones excell at taking down with that many.
Yeah, that third fight was kinda a mismatch.
i'm fucking crying why do the zerglings have rocket boosters
Those roaches didn’t kill all the enemies.
Sadly they can't jump
1/4 Was only sure about the marines.
Damn chadmortal lost to Thor 😥
1. It was an easy 4/4, the only troublesome one could be the Immortal one but the hellbats bought enough time for Thors to deal with them.
2. Didn't we already have this 100 upgraded marines vs 1000 zerglings or am I just crazy?
I think we did. A month back. The marines even formed a 'T' like last time as well.
Marine op
P cost and supply ineffective.
3/4
1/4 wow I suck at this
3/4.
3/3 Marines shit on...anything without upgrades, really.
Hellbats are unarmored, thus they take less damage from the immortals and melt zealots, who are Light. Nice tanking vs Immortals until the Thors get going on the damage they would need to not actually be too threatened by the Immortal ball.
Roaches are too tanky for marines, medivacs are not as effective at healing.
I thought the cyclones would be shit at the anti-air....welp, carriers are more shit at the cyclone killing I guess.
STIM2WIN!
In other words, Terran is OP
2/4
2/4.
The asslings are useless against space marines so of course the first round would be so one sided
TERRRRRRRRAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!
*explosion*
medevac didn't die, should be a draw
terran op
In conclusion Protoss is so fuckin weak.
wrr
Oof Thor's are good..
4/4 Woohoo!
3/3 upgrades are massive. Zerglings can barely scratch them.
Both are scary, but thors win that slugging match of giants.
How would the Marines even start?
Cyclone damage gets high fast once they can sustain fire. Those carriers never stood a chance.
프로토스는 이기는게 없네;;;
