The prices of the X440 have been increased and the changes will take effect from August 4, 2023.
The roadster is powered by an all-new 440cc, 2-valve, air-oil-cooled single pot motor. It produces 28PS at 6000rpm and 38Nm at 4000rpm. In fact, the company claims 90 percent of the torque comes in at as low as 2000rpm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip and assist clutch. In terms of rider aid, you get traction control and dual-channel ABS. That said, in motion the bike does let out a sweet thump. The new engine rests in a trellis frame which is suspended on an 43mm upside down fork (USD) at the front, and gas-charged, preload-adjustable dual shocks at the back. The X440 runs on 18-/17-inch alloy wheels (spoke rims in base variant) shod in new MRF Zapper Hyke tyres - 100/80-18 (front) and 140/70-17 (rear). Braking is managed by a 320mm disc with axially-mounted ByBre caliper at the front and 240mm disc at the back. Dual channel ABS is offered as standard. It weighs 190.5kg kerb, has a seat height of 805mm and a decent 170mm of ground clearance.

I had been a faithful loyalist to Hero Honda .My first bike which my mother bought me in year 1990 was Hero Honda CD 100 at a price of @ Rs 24,,000/-which had a really good average of around 80 Km/ litre and stainless steel mudguards and the maintenance was nearly free and compared to Bajaj Chetak scooter which was owned by my father
My second bike was Hero Honda Splendor at a price @ Rs 50,000/- by my own salary in 1997 which had an average of around 65-70 Km/ litre but it was really sturdy and masculine look but mostly made of fibre glass.
Next in 2019 I bought Hero Splendor I-smart BS 6 model in
@ Rs 76,000/- ,much sturdier than Splendor but Honda engine was gone and average is around 45- 50 and the clutch , electric coil and head light switch had problems ,mostly made of fibreglass and PVC.
Now Hero has come with Harley ,looks out be much sturdier than rest of the models above but I don't know what will be the average of this Harley bike . Body Logo of Hero and Engine of Honda are both gone .
Can somebody tell me till what extent the old generation( around 50's) will have to adjust ?
I had expected the price in the range of @Rs 1,50,000/- but they have kept the price of Premium price of Rs 2,29,000/- which is lit bit on higher side for middle service class salaried person like me .
I will have to be convinced with my I-Smart BS6 till my monthly salary reaches there price range and hopefully by then people might have tested with the average part .
It is my humble request to Hero company to please drop the price so that faithful loyal riders of Hero company bike can one day own this model of there's.

Yesterday I visited one of Triumph showroom to take test ride of Speed 400, it was rush as it was weekend, I filled form submitted my driving license and waited around 1 hour for my turn. I thought let us utilise my time to watch other models of Triumph, but when I observed a behaviour which I heard multiple times for special treatment to cheap versions of big brands like Triumph, Harley ... And I strongly felt it was not a welcome but just a liability for staff. I could not manage to take test drive as it was taking much time and I hand another responsibility to attend so I took my back my license and came out from showroom without test ride, but one thing was very clear that you will not get treated as premium even if you are with premium brand but non premium models, it was in discussion from long time but I strongly felt it , by the bike feedback from other riders were amazing.
Well pointed out bro... People rushing for the name Harley, because just a push in budget can buy them a big named bike, but customer service is what all matters after the purchase..
In india, it is not like that.. even though you take a 1200 cc no one cares you.. there is nothing wrong in our culture.. india saw everything. Right from

No one talks about accessories. I need to know about the wider leg guard, Ladies footrest. Also, I don't like up/down gear shifter which makes my shoe dirty. Any option to replace it with heel and toe gear shifter? clips to carry the grocery bags?

Bike, Headlamp view is awesome and dipper light + Harley Badging on Headlamp is one of the best look i have ever seen. I got amazed.
But, Seat comfort is not nice. Switches and other accessories on Handle bar doesn't look premium. No option for changing the Leg Guard, Foot peg. Ladies foot rest is available but doesn't look good and felt of cheap quality.
Overall, I am amazed by the front side which is better than any other bike But Back side is not good. This is making me go in dilemma weather I should take the delivery or cancel my booking.
FYI, I already own Activa and RE Mateor 350 at Home and Happy with both. But not getting the confirm of buying this in a different city. Confused if it will serve my comfort.

No bro HD X440 might create problem for bypassing traffic you should better opt for triump 400 speedster..

As a mechanical engineer my opinion 👇
Harley x440 x is 2 valve engine.
latter triump Speed is 4 valve.
2 valve engine are used in cheap motorcycle, while 4 valve are used in expensive bikes.
But in India harley is expensive than triump.
This is not Harley , it's a hero bike with just a sticker of harley
As another mechanical engineer, I must share my opinion. Harley is a long stroke motor and it is targetted towards RE bikes. All RE bikes have 2 valves as 2 valves help in low to mid range, long stroke motors are all about low to mid end.
Following tradition 🤣. As a Software engineer, I would say If Something works, Don't touch it until it's broken. Most importantly, It should fulfil the needs of customer.
