How cool is this!!! You’re taking film of passing WRC cars in transit and one (Sebastien Ogier!!! ) pulls up next to you for a tyre change: BRILLIANT!

Ozier could very easily pick another parking spot down the road if he didnt want any people look or bother him...
the fact that he selected that specific spot says a lot.
he might as well stopped there BECAUSE there were fans there and wanted to give them a little something to remember...great driver, great guy

This is why I love rally, because you can get up this close to the drivers and everyone is so casual about it! As long as fans don't interrupt while drivers are working on the cars, I'm happy to see this!
It’s so cool how these cars have to be road legal and drive between stages to compete, I hope this never changes...
Just about every rally driver/co-driver that i've been able to meet has been absolute quality. No egos or bs, just lovely people, out there enjoying their sport. Cheers!

You : naah.. just chillin' on the roadside. Watching some rally driver dude who's name is Sebastien Ogier... it turns out he is WRC Champion tho... 6 times WRC Champs.. no big deal... i don't even need his autograph... I should just keep filming..
Back in my college days they used to park up in the college grounds on the open evening as a little attraction in between stages.
There is one person ogier has not managed to get past last year and that was my mum on the road section!

Easy to forget these cars have to be road legal to compete.
Was just looking at the illegal reg thinking the same.
Yeah not a 100% road legal though, but more or less indeed. They have some exclusions from regular road law afaik

Ripuli Perse I know in Belgium they have a special kind of MOT and are only allowed to drive from and to rally events with the car (and on private test sessions for instance).
For example, steel brake lines are not allowed unless stock on road legal cars in Belgium, but rally cars are exempt from that.

I volunteered working for the event. Spent the morning at Dolwen Garage and Cafe organising the cars to get washed before the Newtown Regroup on Saturday. Was chaos but enjoyed every minute. Been working for Rally GB for 4 years now and enjoy every minute of it! Although it is hard work!
It's good to be in the right place at the right time!

@@h18pdwphotography Can be more interesting than actual stages. The action may well be slower....but certainly a lot different and who knows who might pull in as you found yourself?!!

Ohhh man on the real world they just slow and steady, car engine sound casual like other car, drive like others. But in the track, my god is that a car or something else. Thats why rally is the best, they can drive on the road, long distance, the most importantly they have signal lamp that works 😂😂😂

What are they doing exactly? Also I’m starting fall in love with WRC more than F1, drivers seems like a very passionate car enthusiast.
yeah same, but I can't watch the event I broke so can't afford a subscription. I have to watch parts of onboards or juste the shakedowns, it's great but... I'll have to wait a few more years before being able to really watch.
probably rotating tyres. putting fresh tyres on the front axle, and cleaning the rear wheels and brake system from mud

Only the driver/pilot can Change tires?
josepaulo1993 this is an unscheduled stop, for major maintenance there is proper servicing with mechanics but in between stages when only a minor tire change/repair is needed it’s much easier just to get the driver and codriver to do it. Sometimes during a stage they may get a puncture and will also be forced to change tires during the stage.
No one else is allowed to work on the car if its not in a service.
@@interpassivity thanks for your explanation bud, im aware of the improvised stop and the parc ferme. About these stops, it wss always the pilot who changed the tire. Is there a rule that disallows the copilot to change it?

This cars arent much different from group be rally cars,they have almost 400hp and weight less than 1100kg,and they have extreme aero packages the only thing that separates this from group b is the manual gearbox and the tube chassis(which is gonna come back in 2022)
