  • Dog sledding and winter camping with Kalle and Christine. During four days we headed out along Kungsleden (The King’s Trail) south of Saltoluokta. 19 dogs, Kalle, Christine, and I, Matti. Our goal was the Rapavalley (Rapadalen) and the border to Sarek National Park. Our plan was to do some winter camping, filming, and enjoying life out there.
Kalle Flodin and Christine Kjaer Live in the southern part of Northern Sweden. They have their own two huskies (that they didn’t bring on the tour) but they had never been driving dog sled like this up in the mountains before. Both Kalle and Christine are filmmakers and have their own UA-cam channels (see links down below). We had a great tour with all the classic ’pictures’ from the tourist brochures. Sunshine, northern lights, high mountains, frozen lakes, etc.
In this video, you will be able to see a little bit more of what two persons who follow on a tour are thinking. I could use some of their clips in this video when they in an honest way talk into the camera about feelings from joy to tiredness, their doubts, their limits and how it feels being on an arctic mountain adventure like this for the first time.
The hot tent we use in this video is a pretty new tent for us, Nortent Gamme 6PC. Together with a bigger Winnerwell Fast fold stove with a nested pipe, it’s really comfortable camping out there. We get a warm restaurant where we can sit down and eat dry wet clothes, and just enjoy the breakfast. We also stayed two night in the Sitojaure mountain hut.

Great vid, so much of your pain made it so gooood! Very motivational for Christine. She will be a changed person. Yes, absolutely beautiful. I may have to drive the snowmobile and make some trails. The shots looking down the valley make it all worthwhile. In summer it is beautiful but winter takes it to a whoole different level. Til next time, take care, watch for soft ice. No yellow snow at the water hole!

Thank you for the beautiful video story. I think you could be friends with the role up chimney if you burn both ends red hot (flip the end you attach to the stove) so they have a tempered memory in the correct shape. To each his own.

That is a great tip. I will try that.
I have a better relationship with the shorter pipes that I use for other tents. Maybe it's too long for the Game 6PC tent... and that's the reason why the rolling pipe didn't work fine.
I will use the nested pipe for this tent and then the rolled pipe for my lower tents.

Christine & Kalle are having a baby - something I just learned by watching Kalle's youtube channel. I wonder IF Matti knows that?
2 new youtubers as guests that have never been dogsleding; your guests made the right choice in selecting YOU for their guide/instructor/moral support leader. And your guests speak really good English.
I hope there are links to your guests videos. 4-days, 3 nights?
This is the first time you've passed skiers along the trail, lots of skiers doing it "their way".
It always puts a big smile on my face every time you verbally tell the dogs which way to go.
Your guests definitely have the right tent, a Hilleberg Nammatj which tells me they know a thing or two about winter camping.
I thought I heard them say they are Danes (Denmark) - Otto Walkes sings a great song with André Rieu entitled, "Danes Don't Lie"
29:55; your guests appear to be in grrreat shape
38:40; Nice to hear Christine expressing herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed ever second of this v-e-r-y interesting real-life outdoor adventure.
I now want to take a look at Christine & Kalle's youtube channels.
