    Just found your channel and this is a lovely stitch! I make blankets to donate to Project Linus, and since they have specific requirements on size, I love to do square blankets that start from the middle. This is so similar to the moss stitch in the round I've been doing, but with a nice twist, so it was easy for me to pick up the rhythm.

    What a wonderful stitch pattern! I worked a quick swatch along with your video. I used a 6.5mm hook, 4 weight acryllic yarn. I just proved to myself that I'm a tight crocheter! I could have gone up another hook size for drape. This stitch would make wonderful washclothes. Thanks for sharing.

      Yes, that tripped me up too and I had to keep starting over - seven times! I kept at it though and used a stitch marker for the first few rounds. It's going much better now and I'm well on my way. The stitch really is addictive once you get the hang of it. I'm going to try to adapt the stitch for C2C for rectangular blankets, plus they work up faster.

    • @Lythanda
      @Lythanda  Місяць тому +2

      I will consider making one. Until then you can try this: Make a chain and work the single crochet stitches (even number). At the end of the chain make a corner, 2 single crochet and a corner. Then work single crochets on the othe side of the chain back to the beginning of he chain. Another corner, 2 single crochets and a corner. Close, turn and work the pattern. I am not sure if this will not be wavy, It's just what I would try.

    Beautiful pattern, thank you for sharing. Just so you know for future videos, using a solid mid-color yarn in your tutorial makes it easier to see the stitches..the variegated yarn you used in this tutorial made it very difficult to see them…also, you had your camera too close to your work…at times very difficult to see, your hands blocking your work. Just want you to be successful.

  • @hillbillyheavenWV
    @hillbillyheavenWV Місяць тому

    I like this pattern & it seems easy enough but because I cannot see where you are “pulling up” from because of the way your hands are tilted forward, I’m not sure exactly where you are pulling up from around the chain one spaces & where the single crochet two together stitches are?
    Sorry, I am not a very experienced crocheter & I am older so maybe I’m just missing the obvious?
    But I do truly want to learn this because it is beautiful & easy & relaxing stitch❣️

    • @Lythanda
      @Lythanda  Місяць тому +2

      Thank you! 💖
      I understand that it was hard to see with that specific yarn. You pull up the loops like this: First insert your hook into the single crochet 2 together from the previous round and pull up a loop. Then insirt your hook UNDER the chain one made in the previous round and pull up a loop. Now you have 3 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops. Chain 1.
      In the very first round you don't have the chain 1 spaces so you just single crochet 2 together and chain 1. The same happens at the very end of every side. Just do a single crochet 2 together and chain 1, then work the corner.
      And don't forget to turn your work after every round, otherwise the pattern does not work

    I don't care for a highly texture stitch cooked with highly corrugated yarn. I think a highly textured stitch should be fine with a solid colored yarn so that the texture of the stitch shows. A corrugated or mixed colored yarn should have just a plain stitch to frame the colir of the yarn and the way it changes in the project.
