Everyone talks about munna Bhaiya but i think bablu bhaiya ( vikrant Massey) was also backbone of this show.. we surely missed him...
and the yin and yang sibling dynamic worked really well. The brains and brawn situation with Guddu and Bablu. Guddu as a standalone hero is quite bland
He was the moral compass of the show, not Ramakant Pandit, and the relationship between golu and guddu, wasn't even developed properly, and it surely feels weird, when they kiss, even chotte kissing saloni wasn't as weird as guddu kissing golu.

The attempt is essentially a poor imitation of HOTD.
Map Animation is cool for learning geography, but repeatedly it's getting irritating, bhai pata mujhe sab kaha jaa rahe hai.
rhe worsf part of this season for me was GUDDU AND GOLU KISSING. they were in love with esch other's siblings, were avenging their deaths and now THEY'RE IN LOVE?
both lost their yin yang type sibling, they could've filled that void in each others' life perfectly but NO...THEY HAD TO MAKE THIS ROMANTIC. i hated it.
Writer might think that "Saali Aadhi ghar waali" and bring this. I was cringed when kiss happened, What about Sweety?

Exactly..Chote-Saloni scenes were situational as Chote has to play along as Bade but Guddu-Golu love angle made literally ZERO sense..Most forced love angle I have ever seen..Even Sharad-Madhuri love angle in S3 was developed throughout the season and made 10x more sense than Guddu-Golu kiss at the end.
Rather than killing munna they should have killed kaleen and injured munna badly only for him to comeback and go absolutely crazy and guddu who is no less maniac than him will face him both sides madhuri and golu assisting them and sharad playing sides to aim for the throne and the Bihar arc should have been eliminated from the show as it did nothing even in season 2 it would have been really interesting if they created a proper mixture of strategy and violence by focusing on characters with highest usp like munna and guddu sadly a great opportunity has been wasted by makers

No bhai. Killing kaleen bhaiya would be a very bad decision. Tbh kaleen bhaiya is the soul of this show not Munna. In S1 Climax Munna killed guddu's family so definitely guddu will kill Munna first and not leave him. If Munna wasn't killed in S2 then it would have been a disaster show bcos S2 hype was bcos of Guddu's revenge

Kaleen bhaiya is irreplaceable and the main reason why they kept kaleen bhaiya alive bcos he didn't kill PPL unnecessarily like Munna. Even in S1 ending he didn't kill IPS maurya whereas Munna always kills innocent PPL. So that was instant karma for Munna.
The only intense scene in s3 were Robin's death and the action set piece in jail. Just show's how only Ali Fazal carried this season

The original writers used the classical trope in cinematic writing of killing an important character whenever they wanted to increase the stakes in the series. However, they executed it so well and in such an unanticipated manner that we, as an audience, felt emotionally sad when Bablu and Sweety died in season 1, or Munna in season 2. In season 3, however, killing of Sharad and even Golu's supposed death (despite the later twist) did not elicit the same emotional response from us because the storyline was extremely slow and the character arcs were weak throughout the season.
Robin's death was pretty shocking. Golu shouldn've stayed dead.
Sharads death was sad. The look of betrayal in his eyes while dying was good piece of acting.
Yeah but I wasn't shocked by munna's death in S2. For me S1 Climax was the most shocking part were sweety and bablu are killed

Season 1 is a pure treat...
The person playing Golu is trying way too hard to make her look like a female cool bad ass character but her face does not match one of a badass it just come across as phoney and her trying too hard to be a badass remembering how simple she was in season 1 and to now I just don’t buy the arch of her change in character
so she is doing good job then , cause if you see its clear that nobody respected her unless and until guddu comes in scene

The makers took three seasons to develop Sharad's character, only to kill him off like a regular gangster in the last episode of season 3. This felt like poor writing, making season 3 disappointing.

Robin's death was necessary to show how much guddu evolved since season 1.From seeking revenge from tripathis for killing bablu and sweety to becoming a worse criminal than the tripathis combined

Robin was such a mysterious and enigmatic character and we had so much speculation about him belonging to an influential family. In season 3 I was expecting him to be more involved but he was teaching maths and "daal mein tarka" laga raha tha. He had no character development and he died allegedly because he wanted to protect his "family".
And why the hell had he not told where Golu was??!???
And even his death was somewhat copied from Game of Thrones.

Just because we didn't had enough Brutality doesn't mean The Show was boring.. I kind of liked the build up and the suspense .

Naa, mate...it was boring af. I couldn't watch more than 1 episode a day. I finally finished the season today, so I came here for Jammy's review. I could have understood this season's intention if it came after a year of season 2 was done. But to make us wait four years and come up with this slogfest? I'm not having it.

Absolutely, Golu's scenes were most annoying in the entire series.. her lover Chotte is even more annoying and both should have been eliminated in this season but we have to endure them in the next season.
Rajpal Yadav as chota Don was way better than her
Her overall look is very soft and we could not just feel that don effect only with heavy dialogues. I think there should have been an effort put on her makeup and costume to make her look more rough for us to feel the overall effect of her being on field most of the time. Just dressing up into shirts and jeans and short hair does not convert one into a don. 😀 though I will agree that most of her dialogues were dragged and cringe too. 😢

I just feel at this point Guddu's sister's character is not even needed. I mean what is she even there for? What is her arc exactly? She gives me vibes of those hero's sister in the 80-90's action films. Just there as a side character. Nothing else.

Most of this season is 80-90s Bollywood. Twins that can’t be differentiated by their family and SPOUSE. A young nimble female who is heading a criminal enterprise, which is clearly a lot about physical strength in reality. A lachar baap who’s always lecturing to no effect. Ma behan of hero who have no role to play in his life. Homophobia, they always end up in the wrong camp. People healing from bullets like magic. People getting attracted just because they’re living close, with no regard to what their original relationship was. It’s an endless list.
But atleast those movies ended in 3 hours.

Well who would cry over Robin’s death. She’s one of the few characters with a moral compass and her arc comes at the end of the series from supporting her brother to actually getting him arrested. In season 4 she will be against Guddu as well, I don’t think she can fight but will definitely do things to get him arrested

I kind of liked this season till the second half.
I did too. I think the problem with this season was as soon as Guddu started doing Cocaine. It felt like a retread of the first season and he just feels stupid when in the beginning of the season they were trying to set him up to become smarter
You forgot about the superb character development each character got ( slow but eerie downward spiral of chote/ bade, guddu , death of morality of vakil sahab, sharad being smart chap but ultimately died at hand of tripathi , each story arch got a meaningful end ( like Madhuri finally realising criminals are criminals even Beena is two faced ), eerie symmetry of guddu becoming Munna just like when it all begin at dining table of pandits, golu becoming hard to kill and sorry but it was devoid of any mindless violence, romance, and cursing. And what are they supposed to be , like punisher remember they don't have any tactical training and it would look so out of place if it did. Earlier series depicted only mindless side of UP almost defaming it but now it finally became tactical like game of thrones ( gaddi ka kalesh) and now you have a problem. The series just shifted it's fan base and genre .
They simply shouldn’t have killed both Munna Bhai and Bauji (Kaleen Bhaiyya’s father) in the same season! Kaleen bhaiyya should have been angry and vengeful as soon as he woke up! Also Golu is a tiny person…this bad ass goon persona doesn’t suit her! What a slog this season was.

Mirzapur was never a show that was on the level of other OTT classics like Paatal Lok and season 3 proved it. It only got popular because of some cool action and gaalis.
Let's not overlook the nocturnal fantasies of Indian men-surely a major reason this Chapri extravaganza is raking in the views. Comparing it to 'Paatal Lok' is like comparing a tabloid to a Pulitzer winner. While one indulges in cheap thrills, the other is a masterstroke of layered storytelling and profound societal insight.

Mirzapur season 1 was not that good. Even the budget was not on point.
Season 2 was good. But the problem is that they killed Munna bhaiya whereas they should have killed kaaleen bhaiya.
Munna bhaiya was a loose canon. And take unpredictable decisions. And kaleen was a more on brains side. Just like guddu and bablu.
Killing bablu was a good decisions. They should have repeated it in season 2.
But i agree with you that this show is no where near Patal lok. The story is very basic and many times they cope up with irrelevant action and sex to keep people engaging.
But the characters are interesting of this show.
But the problem is that everyone likes violent characters in these type of shows but they killed the most violent one.
I sometimes wonder what would have happened if they released Godfather 1 or 2, today. What about Sopranos? What about Band of Brothers, especially last few episodes? I think, and no disrespect to you, Jammy, this generation of Insta reels doesn't understand the value of slow burners. You have to enjoy the simmering tensions between 4 clans in the Mirzapur universe, the Pandits, Tripathis, Shuklas and Tyagis... They can't and won't go chopping heads like Munna did, and OFC this is why Munna died, because he had no sense to listen to all those around him.
I absolutely loved every bit of first 6 episodes that I saw, it was like a pressure cooker which is on a verge of a blast, but it just isn't blowing up, and that's fun as well... the anticipation of a train wreck... The final overs of a T20 WC finals, it can go anywhere, but the match has to be played ball by ball. All stakeholders are continuously planning, because prize is big, but the cost can be bigger.
I agree with everything you said and one more point: for a show called "Mirzapur", most of this show was happening outside Mirzapur. What was interesting in Season 1 was how contained the universe was. There were limited number of players so when they introduced an outside party or a new character, it was exciting and interesting but this season they were all over the place and frankly I was reminded of KGF 1 (in a bad way). Who's the big bad? Someone who's the boss of the bad guy but no, he too has another boss who's even bigger and he too has another boss... it became boring after a while.
They were doing some world building with the council of bahubalis which was interesting for a while but then the council turned out to be very one dimensional. Kaleen Bhayya has a line about how his dad set up this underground government and that one line really really intrigued me. I wish this season was about THAT instead and then somehow you can also relate it back to present and how Guddu is learning to rule.
And last but not the least, maybe it was just me but I hate that they made Guddu and Golu a couple. It was too Bollywood. Couldn't they remain like a big brother/ younger sister duo? Why does a man and a woman on screen HAVE to be a couple?
Honestly speaking I think after season 1 story become sort of disappointing ,for me watching mirzapur without munna is like watching boys without homelander

One idea.. they could have started with Kaleen bhaiya back in the throne and Guddu in jail.. shocked audience..

Kaleen said sharad is the last king of mirzapur, and now madhuri is in control of bhay mukt uttar pradesh, I won't be surprised if kaleen bhaiya joins hands with her in next season to eradicate fear from up cause these things snatched away his father and son 😂 also he is a minister now so it doesn't matter much and the post credit scene showed maqbool, i guess now beena and maqbool angle will be seen in season 4 in capturing mirzapur.

Maybe conclude with CM and Police become the bahubali and take out others.. UP current CM situation and encounters could be mirrored.
@@rahulbosebose1 they are actually taking many references the bahubalis actually represent real life bahubalis of uttar pradesh and the lok swaraj party and yadav family is literally a reference of samajwaadi party and mulayam yadav family, now they have tried to mimick the life of mayawati by making madhuri as the CM they are following a timeline, lets see what happens next, even they mimicked the marriage of madhuri and munna as an inter caste power based marriage just like real life couple dimple rawat and akhilesh yadav, many things can be predicted if we actually go through the actual events of uttar pradesh, we might see an actual encounters in the later seasons who knows, like the current government does it, police lately has been getting the upper hand now in the series on the orders of madhuri yadav.

Actually there is one perspective of the series..it's showing in and around Sharad and guddu bhaiya..who don't know to run the mirzapur ...and that's why you took a power from someone but you don't know how to rule .. it's just a glimpse of power that a person sees but after getting power we get to know what issue is been there...soo I think with coming season of mirzapur as kaleen bhaiya would come into power you will again seee the things changing...

Definitely the fatigue does set in. But the way they have built the world and how the writing matures, definitely should have had more elements of fun and play like that of season 1 but I still kinda liked this season, a few episodes at least

When you kill all your major characters and you don't have new characters to establish then this is going to happen.
but we know game of thrones is adapted from book till season 5, and everytime a great character die, there is another character which writer so well, it become great, Great character die and we feel for him, and that's what Mirzapur s3 lack, Character dies but it doesn't make feel for long, it was just for shock value.
I always wished rivalry of Bablu and Guddu Pandit after Season 1 if they kept Bablu alive. Bablu being a don using intelligence and manipulation while Guddu being just violent don. Even Munna could have been saved in S2 instead of Kaleen.
No killing Munna was the best decision. Nobody can replace kaleen bhaiya
see the thing is people are missing munna now after watching s3, but at the time of s2, everyone wanted Munna to die and if the makers kept him alive then that could have been a huge drag and most people would be disappointed

My favorite part of the entire third season was the opening sequence of episode 2.
I liked this season a lot... maybe i forgot the previous seasons as i have watched it years ago. But this season gripped me.

Choti bachhi golu ko bahubali dikhana hi mazaak hai, ya toh uska character bohot strong hota tab thik tha. Sharad ko maarna nhi tha, aur golu mar hi jaati toh thik rehta, faltu mein tyagi iske peeche pada hai. Munna hot toh ab tak golu mar gayi hoti. Worst thing about this season is golu.

You said it yourself in the panchayat s3 review. Every show needs to go through an evolution and that’s what it did over here.
Expanding the world of mirzapur to explore the “West Side” is what it did here. One of my favorite shows of all time was and is “The Wire” every season was like an onion peel exploring more and more.
Sure the makers took a risk by limited screen time with Kaleen Bhaiya.
Golu tried to act badass due to the frustration that stands with her of being a side kick and nit being capable to pull shit off from an action stand point.

I also feel this season wasn’t meant to be binged a limited episode roll out would’ve been better for this one.
There were character arcs everywhere, from ramakand pandit realizing he’s being on his BS of faith in the system, seeing that crumble in real time with his own trial! Madhuri to manning the fuck up, JP to taking a spiritual path (i kinda found it funny), kaleen bhaiya to knowing he’s growing old and taking up a mentorship approach.
This season have evolution written all over it.
The new OTT censorship laws yes you have to be vigilant with the gore sequences and Mirzapur S3 still had it.
Having those seatings and exploring that world had to be done to take this forward.
Sure everyone misses munna bhaiya, and bablu, and now they’ll miss Robin.
Those side plots were necessary, to show new strategies and allies being built it kind of gave us an unrestricted bts look at the politics in play.
Im beyond excited to see what unfolds next in this tale of UP baahubalis!

This season was definitely more than just a surface level mirzapur violence tale. This was a crucial point season to set up whats next (Did you need 4 years for it) ABSOLUTELY NO, but we’re all mature enough to know how long it takes to meticulously exploring all horizons before actually executing an experiment like this!
Sucks that the majority didn’t see it and everywhere I go or all the reviews I see are just str8 up Munna Bhaiya nahi the toh kuch nahi tha type shit!
How unrealistic would it be not giving kaleen bhaiya his healing period and him getting into the action, it was a slow burn and a much needed realistic one!

Yeah that scene literally finished the series for me ....I thought maybe they will end the chapter of guddu showing he got mirzapur but could not take control of purvanchal and fell from grace quickly by imploding but no badass don golu rescued him and started cooking for s4 😂...They killed the series hype..the first 5-6 episode were only good imo.

I personally liked this season as well. There is a story development. When we talk about series running for multiple seasons there are portions which might be slow (GoT, Breaking Bad, The Boys, Better call Saul etc.)
Nevertheless the political game presented here is interesting!
Moreover Sharad who was always 2 steps ahead, was vulnerable this time.
Guddu & Golu who were merely 2 helpless people trying to avenge their loved ones are now bigshot goons.
Kaleen bhaiya had a very small yet impactful role. But it gave the story a chance to move ahead.
The role of women in the story is remarkable.
The story lacks twists and turns when comparing with earlier seasons. But I think that's how a realistic story should be.
The major issue I have with Mirzapur is the time they take to make a season.
If this was a seperate Series and not a season of the OG Mirzapur, we would have still appreciated it.
But the bar was set high
Characters like Bablu Munna carried the show with great acting and dialogues
But now this show has become a cash grab for it's makers...
And why the hell Golu doesn't die? No disrespect to the actor playing it but she doesn't fit in and she only has 2-3 expressions that's it enlarging the eye...
Banraakas gave the verdict of mirzapur 3 before the release we just couldn't get it

It was a gud season though as they gave more attention to the psychic of characters....mental violence was brutal if you try to put your self in the characters and try to think different perceptions....they made it more political than physically violent n dark..may be people wanted it to be physical violent and dark humour...

I for one liked this season. Never was a fan of season 1. Now it evolved to have a good storyline. But it needed to end here with guddu dying as he became a monster. It should have gone to breaking bad route.

Everyone is talking about guddu & Kaalen bhaiya but when shatrughan will be new hero of next season.
Man I got goosebumps in last episode when he fully transformed himself into bade and shoots warning bullet to gollu, one should watch his expression. That is total the beast mode of him.

I personally liked the season, I like how the pieces are being played by golu to gain power and against sharad but the end was just a simple death to sharad i wanted to see all their pieces standing in front of each other face to face but still i liked the season because the next season kaleen bhaiya will be back against guddu

Ok, I have thought of an alternate possibility(first of all I havent watched season 3 yet): Lets scrap out season 2 and 3 and lets go back to season 1 finale Munna is about to sh00t Bablu but Guddu in an Adrenaline rush, ignores his pain and pounches at Munna only to get shot and k¡lled.. this creates a chaos and Dimpy escapes with an injured Bablu and Golu..
Season 2 be all about Sharad and Munna's rivalry and how smart Sharad is compared to his Father and that makes him more dangerous and has become a big problem for Tripathis... Bablu is ignored since he is traumatized and always gets flashbacks of Guddu and how he fell in this life of crime. Even Kaleen bhaiya and Munna don't take him seriously because of his mental condition. Only in the last episode the rage in Bablu oozes out and Bablu becomes a carnage hungry vengeful person who proves his mettle by burning down their factory and almost k¡lls Munna only to be saved by maqbool.
Season 3: Sharhad and Munna join forces because Bablu turns out to be deadlier than expected.. He is now cold, vengeful, bloodthirsty, ruthless and remorseless psychopath who just wants to destroy Tripathis with no intention to ascend the throne..Also, Bablu is intelligent thats why Kaleen Bhaiya and Sharhad both being the brains see Bablu as a threat.. season 3 will be all about how Bablu fell into madness and became crazier than Guddu.. the only people he care about is his mother father dimpy and Golu, who doesn't turn violent but loves Bablu and hopes that he'll be ok one day..
I really wanted Charecters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Bauji and Munna bhaiya to be the main antagonists and d¡e in the finale season.

To be honest. Mirzapur 3 is in NO WAY DULL. It actually has multiple complex threads of storylines simultaneously taking place and interconnected with each other, which can sometimes make it complicated to understand. Other than that, the deaths of Sharad Shukla, the bahubalis, Lala and Robin were extremely satisfying.
People genuinely expected some "masala" from series after waiting for 3 whole years, so it definitely didn't deliver on it, but other than that, the series was indeed WELL WRITTEN and MATURE.
