What an extraordinary interview with Brian with Ms. Cornelia Foss, Eliza Foss, and Christopher and especially the memories of Glenn Gould and Lukas Foss. Many blessings and continued success.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, WK! I found the Foss family warm and absolutely delightful - and such a wealth of creativity, sensitivity and great stories. BTW, there is a truly beauiful book of Cornelia's paintings published by Rizzoli. I highly recommend it. She is a true and wondrous artist in her own right!
@@BrianLevine-ku1xf You did a good job bringing out their personalities and stories. I learned several things about Gould and also all of them. Thanks for the tip on the Foss book as well. BTW, I sent the Foundation a small donation yesterday; more will be coming.
@@westernkentucky5956 Dear Western Kentucky, That is extremely kind (and also generous) of you. I would be interested to learn how you became interested in Glenn Gould - please feel free to drop me a note at the Glenn Gould Foundation (GGF) information address: info@glenngould.ca. I really appreciate your donation and your kind interest!
Thank you so much for the excellent job everyone does at the Glen Gould! I am enchanted with the depth of knowledge, professionalism and respect, attributed to this important Canadian treasure. Bravo, and Brava - well done everyone! Elizabeth
Thank you so much, Elizabeth. We work hard with the goal of making each episode of The Gould Standard interesting and memorable, and I'm lucky enough to work with a truly fantastic team, Michael Berec and Maurizio Ortolani. They are the best of the best! I hope you'll subscribe and keep watching! Tell your friends, too. We have FANTASTIC new episodes coming up!
What fascinating stories! Decades ago, before a Lukas Foss performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, I went to a nearby cafe. LF was at another table, and, just for a moment, he looked in my direction. I don't know what was in his expression, but he had the most intelligent face I'd ever seen.
Lukas Foss is one of the great figures in 20th century American music, and his oeuvre of compositions is formidable. His symphonies and operas should be performed far more often. It's time for a revival!!!
