Revisiting your channel after 7 years and hearing that intro music piece made me cry . I was a clueless teenager from a remote village in India who wanted to play the piano so badly that i drew a replica of keyboard and stick it to my table and my only saviour at that time was you . I used to proudly boast to my mom and dad that you are my teacher and you are such a gem of a person . Thanks for everything Andrew . I sincerely hope we will meet in future . I will one day . Stay safe . God bless

7 years later and this video series is still incredibly helpful and kind of you to share to aspiring musicians around the world !! It's so hard finding music theory lessons on UA-cam that start straight from the beginning of music theory and explain everything in a simple and easy way to understand AND while not having a complete serious/dull mood but instead having an exciting mood, making is so much easier to keep attention and interest in learning about music in your videos !!! You have such a kind heart and soul thank you so so much !!!!!! :D ^-^

started watching these videos during my quarantined senior year of high school in Turkey, now I came across the playlist and got emotional a bit. I was always passionate for music but did not have a conservatory background so was not sure where to start but this channel helped me learn most of what i needed on my own. I am currently in a jazz school in Paris and was even able to skip a year because I had studied a lot of theory with your channel.. so thank you and for anyone seeing this in the comments who is starting their journey today I hope this could be some motivation :)

The best way to look at this is that for every person who dislikes this video there are 19 who like it (ball park estimate) . I think that some people want to believe that music is some sort of "pure" art that can exist outside the boundries of rules . But what makes music so beautiful is that it lives within a beautifuly complex set of rules which are based upon the natural vibrations and motions of the universe.

I've been learning this dudes stuff for a good few months (had to come back here to learn how to draw clefs again). He's awesome. If you're just starting this stick with it. He'll take you through everything to get you to understand theory. I used a few books alongside his videos and I'm now learning to play some pretty complex pieces. I'm an electronic producer, but through learning theory you appreciate classical and Jazz and you'll end up wanting to play that sort of stuff. Thanks Lypur

    Hi Andrew.
Before of everything you're a wonderful person for doing this for free. It's very kind.
For a year i wanted to start learning music theory but there's no teacher where i live and i don't have enough money to pay private lessons. Plus, i'm a very shy person so i don't lead very well with strangers.
But for someway i really want to meet you one day.
Continuing, i had music lessons when i was in 5th and 6th grade. And i came to the conclusion that i know nothing about what i love in my life.
I had drawing the treble clef in the wrong way all this years.
In this video i learnt more than i learnt in 2 years. Thank you so much.
P.S: I'm portuguese. If you don't know where Portugal is, Portugal is that tiny country next to Spain. So you're getting famous around the world.
You're a amazing pianist with a amazing heart.

I just want to say how amazing your videos have been for me. I have ADHD and it's really difficult for me to focus on something or consistently practice something. I learned basic piano when I was young but I've wanted to really learn more about piano and music for the longest time, but ADHD makes that very difficult. Your videos have helped me not only find new things to learn, but have also allowed me to both practice practically with your piano videos, but learn music theory while doing other things like playing video games or cooking or whatever (I need multiple things happening at once in order to stay engaged and learn). Being able to learn about the music then inspires me to actually go practice more, and it creates an amazing positive feedback loop.
Thank you so incredibly much for being just a genuine person using your time and abilities to help others learn at no cost.

Have a grandson who plays by ear, doesn't want lessons, I told him God gave him a gift it is his responsibility to sharpen that gift not ignore it. whenever he comes over he plays for me. He is in fifth grade, and starting band, hopefully he will learn to read music. Thank you so much for this. Makes life easier for me as a vocalist. There are tons of talented artist who are restricted in gigs and writing their own material b/c they simply cannot read music or understand theory. I'm watching your videos before I decide to make music a Minor @ my local Community College. Take care --- Dani in Nashville

I found this just today. The lesson was great and exactly what I was looking for. I homeschool and know the basics of Music Theory and wanted my kids have the opportunity to go further in music. You've provided that along with giving me more instruction. Fantastic.

I remember having to diagram sentences when I was in 3rd and 4th grade. Fifty -plus years later, I can correctly write a sentence without batting an eyelash. You're doing the same thing for music, and the result will be the same for everyone who watches and learns from you. Thank you so much!!

I am so happy that I found this site and the piano lesson site. You referred to a 'grandma' who taught you. Well, I am a 68 year old grandma who can't play guitar anymore because of arthritis, so I bought myself a keyboard! I am happy to say that I have no problem with my fingers on the keyboard. Thank you so much for the effort you are putting into these lessons, I am enjoying this to no end! I plan on being able to write some songs in my future (I have two brothers who are musicians as well), and am working everyday on this. I will not give up and you are NEVER to old to learn! I hope you read these comments to know that there are those who value and appreciate you.

I just thought if you had over 300,000 subscribers no one has ever invited you to do a concert? With all those hits I thought a promoter would offer you something, I used to have a cable access show on T.V and it lead to so many things, I'm a pro Pianist and thought If I had that many subscribers and hits , I would be super busy preforming all over the place. Do you get anything from it?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
I was thinking of doing a free lesson channel as well for people. And also get internet exposer.
      Thanks again

just want to thank you Andrew for this Free Music Theory site. It is very helpful. Some of us wouldn't be able to afford it. I can do it at anytime and can rewind if needed. I always wanted to play the piano, and I'm learning it from you as well.
There is reward in giving. May God bless you.
