Good morning Nina, been feeding the houseplants and garden. Already fed the very hungry Catasetum types. I'm finding them easy to grow. 550 ppm now. Thanks for the video. God bless
HI Richard 😍💐 so good to see you!! I hope you are having a wonderful day, amigo 🫶🏼 my catasetinae got their big glugg 2 days ago,... tomorrow I check again to see if its all gone, because today there was still something left in the reservoir. Isn't it fun to be able to go gung ho with fertilizer on some orchids? I love it 😆 thank you so much for watching this video, for your time while busy doing your planty things and for the continued support here 🫶🏼 truly appreciate you! ❤️🌸
Thank You Nina. Nicely done. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Seven big Catts to uppot and 11 large Phals to repot. The final tally will be just over 200 pots.

@@NinjaOrchids, consider getting pots with UV protection. My dad bought huge outside pots in the 1970s and they are still going strong. I know they were very expensive but well worth it as they are still going strong, you wonderful human being! 💖🌞🌵😷
@@suzisaintjames the sad thing, Suzi, is, that they do not make things like they used to back in the day! These pots are UV protected and for inner pots that could have been bought a little cheaper, one would think, I considered them expensive because of their status. Early in my repotting days, when I did not have a channel, I treated them with bleach to sterilize them, and those pots broke quicker than the one you see with the vandaceous orchid. Which was never repotted since it arrived in 2018. This pot only lost the rim last year. So, not treated with bleach, it did last longer than the pots that I sterilized with bleach. But yeah, I even bought expensive inner pots for my cymbidium and phaius with UV protection, but their rims broke earlier this year, after only 3 years of use exposed to all the elements of my patio. It really sucks that we are now having to pay for products that actually do not perform the way they should, or used to. I always compare that to bubble gum. When I was little, I love juicy fruit, and I remember the flavor lasting so long! But, now, on the rare occasion I treat myself to a stick of juicy fruit, within 15 minutes I feel as though I am chewing on flavorless rubber. Its so nice to hear that those pots your dad bought, back in the 70s are still going strong! That is the way it should be, and those were the days when you bought something and it was quality! Thank you for your input and for the time watching the video, you wonderful human being 🥰😍 hope your day is going beautifully for you 🫶🏼❤🌸
When you mentioned evaporative cooling, something clicked in my brain 🤯. I've been keeping my mini phal in a bud vase (water culture) to keep her roots moist, but she needs a wide mouth setup so she can take advantage of the evaporated water in her leaves as well! They are still dehydrated 6-weeks in my home. She is in the window sill for maximum indirect light, but it is very warm so close to the glass. Evaporated cooling may just be the solution! Thank you! You are a wonderful human being for sharing so much of yourself with us. 💖🌞🌵😷
😍HI Suzie! 💐 woohooo!!! That is a nugget that will be so helpful for you moving forward, I am so glad that you made the connection and thank YOU so much for letting me know, you wonderful human being YOU! 🥰😅
😍Shirely!! Hello, lovely lady 💐 thank you for watching another repot video! I am hard pressed getting to the orchids that need it asap... broken pots just won't do 🥴 I hope that YOU have yourself a fabYOUlous rest of your weekend as well 🫶🏼 Thank you so much for your support ❤️🌸
I was shocked when I watched a guy re-pot some orchids, and he was breaking roots and not real careful at all the way he handled them... And they run a retail business in orchids!! 😬 Enjoyed your vid Ms. Ninja... 😊 🦋
🦤🦅😍 Wingman!! 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥳 yes, they handle their orchids as a commodity, totally forgetting that if they don't grow well, they can loose dinero... seeing as they have so many to do, they do not take any consideration when it comes to the detail of protecting root systems. Just like I have seen many youtubers be diligent about cleaning a root system of dead roots, keeping as much of a viable root system without damage, and then proceed to press the media into the pot with such force, that all the diligent work of protecting the root system is for naught. Instead, the roots they cared for during the clean up, now is a crushed mess in the pot. But, as long as you can lift the orchid by the structures and the pot comes along with it, means the repot was well done and the orchid is secure! Ok Jan! 🫣🤭 but, to each their own! Not on my patio! Not on my orchids! Not on my watch!...thank you for not mentioning the channel 😘 and thank you so much for watching, Robert! I hope that you are staying cool, hydrated and indoors 🙏🏼 and that you are having a fabYOUlous day 🫶🏼❤️🌸
🌸🥷🏼 Director Jose San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 so good to see you on this Friday night 🫶🏼 thank you so much for being here and for your comment, which I totally agree with and I would do IF I had the right climate. Also, I keep thinking that, if I had the climate and my orchids were in the landscape, I would become very clever at climbing trees while filming videos AND adding commentary 🤣🐒🙈 thoughts of me having my garden in Kenya WITH a UA-cam channel have been a thing, and they make me chuckle, because with my pain issues, me climbing trees would be a laugh for everyone! Comedy gold 😂 it saves money as well! As my orchids grow, they need bigger pots and well, I have soooo many small white masks piling up that I do not need anymore. 😱 money is being stored in the shed 🙄 oh well, ce la vie mon ami! I hope you had a great Friday, are already relaxing and I wish you a wonderful weekend 🌸🥷🏼Amigo San 🫶🏼❤️🌸
Heh, it's frustrating but also part of the charm, right? I've gotten some hardware-store seedlings all at least 2-4 years out from blooming size, and I love them to death and can't wait (but also kind of really enjoy waiting) for the eventual payoff.
Waiting period for cattleyas is 7 years, I suppose.I waited and waited with my only cattleya and finally on the seventh year it bloomed.I was very generous with my only cattleya also. I did the big mistake of dividing the plant and giving it as a present to some of my friends. My lesson I learnt in cattleya growing- if you want blooming cattleyas, go for a mature plant, do not divide, provide enough sunlight, mount it as cattleyas require occasional dry out, the queen of orchids will definitely bloom for you. Good luck.
😍 Hi! 💐 it is so good to see you!! I hope you are doing well 🫶🏼 you are right about the process of growing them on being part of the joy of growing. I still have seedlings from 6 years ago that have not bloomed for me... what helps is, to have a collection that otherwise keeps me super busy and suddenly, a once upon a time seedling comes into bloom! When that happens, you will think 'how time flies!' The satisfaction is immense! Happy growing and thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼 wishing you a wonderful rest of your day ❤️🌸
I used to divide my orchids because I knew someone was looking to have a division and I wanted to get the orchid to them as soon as possible because I knew that would make that person happy. Well, ... now, I wait... my 'chiddos need to be strong because of the winters ahead, so the divisions are super rare! In 2020, I divided approx 20 orchids and many had to build up strength again to bloom again. BUT, I know the people were happy, even though I had to wait for blooms all over again 🫣
🦒👌💐 Nice repots, a double pleasure. Your Dimophorchis has amazing roots. Too bad such an amazing orchids takes so long to get to maturity but surely is trying 😊
FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 good morning, meine liebe Freundin! We are getting somewhere with these 2 orchids ... I am hopeful to have some lobata blooms in a few years 🤞🏼 the lowii.... its an ego project for me because I have been told over and over again, that this orchid cannot be grown in leca and semi hydro... *cough! Just proving a point 😬😆 really pleased to see the roots on that one and well... now we can just ignore this orchid for another 5 years! 😂 thank you so very much for taking a moment out of your weekend with your wonderful family there, to watch this video, I truly appreciate your support and friendship, amiga mia!! Have yourself a wonderful Sunday... overcast? 🥺 it felt really chilly this morning here, but the sun is out and its time to go and deal with the 'mess' inside and outside. Meh!! 🫶🏼❤️🌸
Hi Matt 😍💐 they are slower than slipper orchids 😂 I have to say, though, that I am glad mine is still around, considering.... and I love that the leaves are stronger and larger than what she came with 6 years ago. Its an ego orchid for me. Many have told me so much about leca, and while some of it is true when conditions change, I have to say, where are they now? I would like to hear from all those that dinged me about leca and orchids over the years. But, crickets ... probably for the best because I am in THAT mood 🫣😂 if mine happens to be bigger than your's when I go over the rainbow bridge and join my loved ones, I shall have it sent to you! Then you may not need to wait that long 🥰 thank you so much for watching the video, Matt! I hope you are doing well and wish you a great start to the new week 🫶🏼❤️🌸
@@NinjaOrchids hahaha. Yeah, sometimes the critics can be very bold when no proof against their point has been delivered. Thank you so much though! It means a lot to me that you’d even consider this kind of inheritance. Let me take and post a picture of mine. I’m not sure about the size. But I’d like to hear your opinion about when I can expect mine to bloom.
I've been trying to get a lobata coerulea for a while, the price on them is ridiculous (and if I am saying that, believe it). You Dimorphorchis has a way better root system than mine. I feel like I potted it in a medium that is too dry, thinking about changing it up while we have the heat and humidity.
Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I have seen some, here, that had an eye watering price tag for a non blooming size and that was several years ago, so, I believe you!! 🫣 very pleased with the roots on the lowii! I could see the affected roots around the perimeter of the pot, but as the leaves were showing a size jump the past 12 months, I was not concerned, but, so glad that it has done what it has done up to this point. Now, I am not aware of ... does lowii dump it's roots once disturbed. I have no idea and there is no information out there to give me a heads up. Time will tell when I watch and see what mine does 😬 makes me mad that I have the cold winters because this orchid would look so much nicer with the leaves not curling. I should be grateful that it is, in actual fact, alive, so I better not jinx things! Hope your day is going beautifully for you! I am 'beat' 'done' 'dunzo'! I can't believe that I am about to go get ready for bed this time of the day, but... its either I go up the stairs under my own steam or I am going to have to call Walter to carry me up. 😵💫 one more go around with the mister (my sprayer not the Mr. 🤣) pups are having their dinner and .... peace out! ✌🏼 have a great rest of your day, my friend!
