How Dark Is Too Dark? - SMP Ink Results

  • We do our best to educate consumers and especially potential consumers of SMP or Scalp Micropigmentation.
    Because our methods and understanding is so different compared to most artists in SMP, we call our process Subtle Pigmentation. The main difference is the size of each impression or simulated hair follicle. We use a single needle, which takes much more time, patience, and skill.
    With the use of pictures we point out what a consumer can look for in hopes to choose the best treatment for them!

    I've watched your channel for years. I admire your willingness to give info and pass on knowledge without anything in return. I got SMP done in London and the first two sessions looked really awful. The dots were to big and sparse. Even after the third session, it looked really dark and dots looked huge. Then after about a month, my treatment faded into this nice looking head. I mean, even now after 3 years it looks great. I think your one needle treatment and other franchises' three point needle treatment are different. It would have been a really big mistake for me to ask for a refund after the first session and left London. I am not trying to put your video down, I just thought I would share my experience so if there are people who were in my shoe, you don't have to go all crazy

      Thank you for putting real information out there as it helps others :)
      First, it’s all about how YOU feel wearing it, so that’s perfect you feel it looks great!
      I’m hearing the difference between good and great.
      The difference between Subtle P and SMP is huge like I always repeat. I loved my original smp treatment I got in 2009. I loved it up until I removed it and saw the difference between the two styles.
      I get so excited about the Subtle P process that perhaps I don’t give enough love to the smp process, which can still look amazing.
      Lastly, how would/do you feel in a “spotlight challenge” situation? If a stranger is up close at a gym or grocery store or outside, will they see ink or be completely fooled?

    My SMP looks good. Just when you look at my head closely, it's very light, and there are patches where the artist did not fill in with ink uniformly, so it is like light patches. I'm going in to hopefully have those areas more dense.

    First, your videos are most impressive and informative. Here’s my dilemma. I am a black man I live in Ohio and have hyperpigmentation on my scalp. I’m doing some chemical treatments to lighten my dark areas with Cyspera and it’s a long process. When I shave my head (whether with Pitbull razor or Omnishaver) my head is smooth but, I have huge dark areas that almost look like I still have hair. Now that I’m starting to research this, I’m thinking about doing this procedure instead. Will I be able to do this even though I have hyperpigmentation? Lastly, I’m 59 and don’t want jet black shadow. My beard is white as nanowire and to me that would look crazy!🤣 I just want a nice, even light shadow because I am comfortable being bald. Thanking you in advance if you’re able to answer. MB - Columbus, Ohio

    I think a place that says all you need is one session is frightening.i know a barber who got this done and you can see it’s bad Smp from pretty far away . The dots are gigantic and look almost green . He also Had a fade fleshed in it almost turned me away from getting this until I saw REAL results from other stuff guys.

      Not Subtle P...because we leave impressions that are same size as real hair follicles.

    How long does SMP last?

    • @scalp_logic
      @scalp_logic  2 роки тому

      It’s permanent. Also, many individuals will require or desire a touchup within 2-7 years to keep or enhance the vibrancy.
      Mostly preference and the many variables that play a part such as sun exposure, health of skin, etc. that dictate how a result remains.

  • @johnthree1611
    @johnthree1611 Рік тому +1

    I question the artists statement that he can tell that the artist who botched this SMP has skills. The botched SMP was not done by a skilled artist, as there is major bleeding, and the person couldn't even get the color right.

      @@ScalpEstetic We don’t train too many folks last few years, but yes I have “trained” hundreds of artists.
      The problem is that most artists want certificates more than being a bad ass artist.
      The Subtle P art form takes months and years to master.
      The SMP industry is dominated by companies offering 4 day crash courses for $5k and a shiny certificate. There are incompetent artists everywhere.
