Thanks for convincing me that my faded emblem looks fantastic 😀
😂
😂
😁😆EXACTLY lol
😂 True that!
AGREED !! Not worth it !!
I think I’m just going to keep my faded jawn 🤣🤣 great video!
Me too, 🤣
Hats off to you sir, for doing the work nobody else wants to do. I think I will just paint mine all black with a clear coat.
Okay, after watching this. I love my emblem faded! 😁
Man, in my opinion I think you did awesome, you went above what others would do to keep the airbag function safe and improvised when you didn’t have the right tools to finish the job, fantastic work and video
I have so much respect for these emblem videos!! I wonder the time involved doing just the plasti dip. Vs this method?!? Lol. I’ll stick with the dip!!!! Lol
What a nightmare glad you made the video I would just buy a new air bad for 300 bucks than do all that work , I hope that air bag deploys when you need it someday
Excelent video. I recently changed the emblem I did it without removing anything, I just ripped off the old emblem, pushed the remaining pieces in and just put the new one on with a little glue. the result the same
Then if you get into an accident and the airbag deploys you’ll have a nice plastic shrapnel grenade
Yea if you're gonna do that then you should try to remove any pieces you can with tweezers or needle nose pliers just in case
Repeat process every 1-3 years to have a shiny emblem also yell at the wife and kids every time they put their grimy hands on the emblem make them watch the video 5 times each time also for best results!!! 😂 Joking good video very informative.
That's an absurd amount of work just for an emblem wow
Ik this is an old video but where did you buy your plastic side covers to hide the screws?
I think I am going with the painting route. :) Interesting video though.
Yep! My conclusion precisely!
Great video. Can you advise what size rivets should be ordered?
Thanks for the video so I dont get my face punched by the bag.
But Im just gonna sand the rest of the paint off. Cover the wheel, use tape and cut around the emblem while covered. apply a base primer, spray it a couple times then add a couple clear top coats. Then ride off into the sunset.
I did the painting thing too but I went the easy way and used plastidip. Thanks for watching!😎

might have been easier if you heated a nail or something over the stove burner, then melted to plastic rivits. with that, using plyers ofcourse
Nice video! Any chance you could measure that chrome emblem in millimeters, widest from left-right and top-bottom?
Yea um after watching this I think my emblem looks great just the way it is 😆
Too much work. Especially under doing the air bag safety.
Peace of cake! thx!
thats tooo much effort for just an emblem revitalizatio, why not just cover it in vinyl, much easier and less hassle
I need an eblom where it will get?
Link in the video description
Great job!
Has anyone tried just heat gun to release the glue and undo it?
Your Pilot seems to have all of the same problems ours does. LOL
Haha. All minor stuff fortunately.
Airbag systems operate under extreme pressure. Every part and assembly process is rigorously tested in the design phase and continuously sample tested during manufacturing. Disconnecting the circuit and removing the whole module is one thing. Disassembling the module itself is basically playing Russian roulette. Anything done differently than the same way it gets manufactured may result in any part of the module and even the whole module becoming a projectile at your face vs the proper bag deployment designed to minimize injury in a crash. Is it worth taking that chance over a cosmetic issue? It’s up to you.
That's a lot of work just to replace a badge. No thanks.
@@michaelh2198 you are correct sir! I done lots of calibration in air bag manufacturing facilities and watched the production process of many models. And witnessed the R&D and testing. This guy is creating major liability and playing with fire in event of crash where the AB will deploy. No way.
Honda should think of a better method of replacing this emblem. This part of the steering assembly is just too sensitive and this process too rigorous. For the safety of the driver, pure silver emblem cannot be considered because of the risk of sustaining injury if the air-bag should go off.
Wow I think I'll get some chrome paint
Good gawd
Geat❤
Good job but long video
Mine was good till i tried to wipe off the "debris" . Now its off white.......after watching this, off white is good.
has that "white" started to yellow yet. cause it will
I don't think I would have ever noticed had it not bee pointed out. lol
I'll just use a sharpie
I'll paint mine in place. Too much to take off and replace for looks.
well shit, i guess if you want to be really thorough you can do it that way. Ive seen others that just put glue on a new one and poke it in with no melting tabs. using the old rivet as a washer is a is a pretty smart idea lol. Not that hard of a job if you know what you're doing
Nooo! 😵💫
This is some OCD stuff right here 😂
…I think I’ll just keep painting mine. 😅
Those rivets man😅
Great walk thru but way too much work! I'll just tape it off and paint it
You can try this if you don’t mind the black. Thanks for watching.😎

Too much trouble. Much easier to mask it, sand it, and spray whatever color you want.
Too many work man. I would rather just cutt off with a knife and glue the new one with gorilla glue. Pretty stronger
Zero reason to pull that emblem off from the front and potentially mangle the air bag cover. Dumb.
Or just plastidip it
Just buy a cool aftermarket steering wheel lol
Edit: Better idea. Just take out the center with the emblem and cover and tape anything u don't want painted and paint the emblem any color u like. Seems like it would be way easier than this
Education ❤❤

"alright guys ...."
one more and a 30odd6 is coming you way
"rice 'n curry"
Just wanted to paint mine off the car. You had me untill you started drilling rivets on the bag.
Same, lol, I've removed my airbag before, and it's not that hard. Had to do it to replace my cruise control switch when it broke. But actually drilling the bag is a step too far for my comfort level, I think.
Did you end up painting or doing anything with the emblem?
