Holy testicle Friday indeed! This is such an interesting subject to create a song about and I think a lyric video is perfect for this one. Can one man's good outdo his bad?
I love how deep and haunting this song is. The guitars and the absolute shadowy depths of Joakim's voice in this truly evokes the creeping, strangling terror of poison gas. It almost flows like green mist out of blackened cauldron like witchcraft while clearly being staunchly about the horrors of a scientific breakthrough. It muddles the two together in the fog of war. I feel that the asking about "where will your breakthroughs lead?" is more an allusion that chemical warfare is the first in an arsenal of weapons put into the category of mass destruction as well as the fact that chemical engineering built off Haber's works to murder millions intentionally in the Holocaust. And to answer your question, Haber did, in fact, create both chlorine and phosogene gas as well as the methods in which to deliver them on the battlefield. Before the war, he created the fertilizer ammonia nitrate (that we still use today) to increase food yields to feed billions. And then during the War, he created the first weapons of mass destruction. So yes, he knew. He was well aware. He made the weapons knowing full well what it would do to living tissue. He fled Germany when the Nazis rose to power because of his Jewish ancestry. And he died long before his work was built upon to murder millions. But since we use his fertilizers to this day, he also still feeds billions from beyond the grave as well.
not only that. he even taught them on how to use the gas properly in order to prevent accidents. the gas was originally created to end the war faster. the purpose was to strike fear into the enemy so they would surrender thus having no more need for the gas. but that didn't happen.
😲 Gudars skymning vilken " skrämmande " bra låt ! Älskar Pianot och gitarrsolot 🤘 Sabaton är totalgrymma på att ge oss historielektioner , det känns som om man lär sig något nytt var gång man hör dom👍 🥰
The day this song came out after hearing it I did what I usually do nerd out and google. For some reason watching your reaction made me wonder how many many watch lists I'm on 🤣 another Damn good one man
Joakim does the arrangement, orchestration etc additionally to the composition. And he wrote the lyrics alone, at least for this. As for the solo, it sounds like Tommy for me. But I could be wrong, ofc. I'm really, really impressed by this song. Plus, it's too deep for me to properly sing it which means that Jocke's vocals get to me really badly... He's singing nearly bass range, doesn't he... As for your reaction, I really love it. Emotional, authentic and I notice again that you put your everything in it.
The fact i can sing even lower than joakim is singing in this insane masterpiece is funny. It is very low though which means its hard to sing it for most people. This song and the story is insanely good
The first time i saw the notif, i didnt know what was about, it starded and i felt something, something that sabaton already gave me by the past, these creepy vibe, i got the same when hearing the attack of the dead men, and thats when u know that sabaton's compositions are great, they know how to create the atmosphere who will fit perfectly on what they're saying, like The Final Solution! Absolutly love them!
@@GivenToe you're welcome and what make me love sabaton even more is that they sing about all aspects of war, the glory, the sadness, the fear or like Father this madness or creepy atmosphere I love how they dont choose any side For exemple the fields of Paschendale They sang the sadness in The price of a mile and the glory of an native who fought in Paschendale, i love that
I love the deeper and darker songs from them, some of my favorites come from Carolus Rex(Ruina Imperii, Poltava, long live the king) and Metalizer(title song, Hail to the king, Shadows), despite on average disliking the newer songs, a great few if not all the TWTEAW album's songs, and this one, have met and surpassed my expectations greatly. In short, Sabaton seems unable to disappoint!
Åh min skapare! Nu har Sabaton gjort det igen!! Musik och text passar så fantastiskt bra ihop. Hoppas den kommer med på setlistan på kommande turnéer, vill verkligen höra den live! Tack David😊
I listened to the song yesterday. It is a typical Sabaton song, which means that it is very good. I agree with you that Sabaton tells stories with their songs. It is so much better than the typical silly lyrics most songs have. This is almost like classical music - very serious.
dunno if someone else already answered this, but iirc here's how his participation in the war went first, he repurposed the fertilizer manufacture to instead produce gunpowder then, he started working on things like chlorine gas, the goal of which was to scare germany's enemies into not wanting to fight anymore like the gatling gun, the result was the opposite, as it only cause more deaths
@@GivenToe another factoid I remembered the place where he worked made a potent pesticide that was initially odorless, so they added an odor to it as a sort of deterrent so people wouldn't breathe it in when the *[ww2 german party]* came to power, they requested a variant of the pesticide without the odor this was Zyklon B, the gas used during the holocaust
6:28 nope. The purpose of the chemicals was to make crops grow. Which it still does to this day. Unfortunately the creator had to be a scientist and note down that it just so happened to be toxic if mixed with other things. Because a scientists job to write that down. The German army found out and…. You know the rest. Edit: found out after watching Sabaton’s lore videos on the subject that he was in fact a supporter of using chemical weapons and was in fact the person to weaponise the gas and come to the military with it.
Actually Haber was a supporter of the war effort, made the poison gas as a weapon for use to break the stalemate on the western front. He was a patriot and believed the gas was to be used to break the morale of the enemy securing a swift victory for Germany.

Fritz Haber is also invented modern pestisides and fertilizers and won a Nobel Price for this amazing invention which made our agriculture as good and efficient as it is then came The gases....that is why they used the saying sinner or saint
love your reaction to their new song Father it was Perfect. You were right. Yes, he created chemical weapons and way to deliver them but he also in times of Peace found a way to make special fertilizers for crops to feed the World. Sometimes you have to something bad to save alot more. if there is no other way
and the really eerie part is that this sounds to me like a mix of "attack of the dead men", "inmate 4859" and "the final solution". which just fits; but is scary!
The true purpose of the chemical weapons he created was to break the stalemate on the front lines and he even visited the western front to show the troops how to use them chlorine & mustard gas just to name a few
