When Outlook says it is spelled incorrectly, I right-click and Add to Dictionary. It doesn't always work but most of the time it will. I had to do it with my last name "Menard" was always wrong.

I know the software isn't perfect, but you'd think one of the more common interrogative phrases ("are you") would be coded as a question in their script

How do you get such good results?! I'm (not by choice) in Windows 11 and don't have the "best" voice buy have spoken professionally on and off for years, so do speak clearly. I said: "While dictating, press Enter on keyboard to quickly move results from buffer to text editor." and it typed: "What big painting, antoron quick remove results from beverage Mr." After seeing your video I'll review settings and everything and give it another shot. Question: how does one instruct or command the dictate function to allow you to spell a word; If I dictate this word: frimpflix for instance how do I tell 'dictate' how to spell that? I am a blind Microsoft 365 and Office user using screen reading software. I love your videos and training. You cut right to the chase. However, Please try to include hot keys, like Windows H to launch dictation. I have a client hat would love it if there were any way to dictate numbers into Excel.
I am also a blind, Microsoft, 365 user. I finally realize the alt key and growth would bring up the dictation feature. However, trying to make it stop spelling out the words. new line was so problematic. I finally just shut everything down and went to bed. I think I’m going to play around with it today.

Change the AutoCorrect in Word. That should work. AutoCorrect is under Options. Other than that, finish the entire document, and do a Find and Replace. Find and Replace will definitely work.

Since you had it and now you don't, I'm betting it is number 3 below. 1 Dictate requires an Microsoft 365 subscription. I'm assuming you have an Microsoft 365 subscription. 2. Currently, it's an English-only features and is limited to US markets. If you're a subscriber and don't see Dictate, it might not be available in your location or your application's proofing language is not English. 3. Dictate is one of the Office Intelligent Services. Make sure that the "Enable services" option under File > Options > General > Office intelligent services is enable. Otherwise, the Dictate button will not display.
Hi Chris. The Microsoft outlook dictation feature is not capitalizing the first letter of the sentence any longer. Additionally, if I say period or question mark, it T ypes of the word, rather than the symbol. It does whether for the auto punctuation feature is on or off. The same thing occurs when using word or PowerPoint. It just started doing this a couple of days ago. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Second question: What if i want to dictate some text into a more traditional application, like Notepad or even Emacs? Does the application have to know how to use some special API, or can the speech recognition just feed a stream of bytes into stdin for an arbitrary process? Thanks for any info!
I have a Dell with an i7, six generation and 32 GB of RAM, but you don't have to have a high-end computer for this to work It even works with Word for the web. This is only for Microsoft's main apps right now. It will not work in Notepad.

Shouldn't the punctuation feature capitalize a person's name?
Autocorrect the person's name and it will. It doesn't know what is a person's name.

I'm not getting capitalization at the start of a new sentence nor double space between sentences.
It happened to me today, just all of a sudden would not start any sentence with capital letter. Do you remember what the solution was?
