This is why I refer to Western culture as an 'un-culture'. We don't actually live by scruples or values. We live by personal gratification. And in such an environment, it is impossible to shame anyone, less guilt them. You cannot bring back shame until we collectively agree to live by a set of hard and soft values and standards. This ladies and gents, is the lynchpin of culture. Without it, we live in an un-culture.
The shame you talk of is OPINION, it is only your opinion that someone should feel shame. In some cultures a woman showing her face would be deemed shameful, and you think THAT is culture?
Just for those curious, similar to what TPMPR said: Guilt is a feeling you get when you did something wrong, or perceived you did something wrong. Shame is a feeling that your whole self is wrong, and it may not be related to a specific behavior or event.
It doesn't have to be even close to that drastic. 🤣 Shame is the things you try to hide that you feel guilty about, while guilt is the things you couldn't hide. Whether words, actions or anything else. They are both survival instincts
@@cutlascalpurnio1593 they would also feel shame when they were eating the sweets. What? Shame is something you hide, guilt is something you can't hide. Even when you're ashamed of something you don't think you should be ashamed of, ie being molested, the shame still exists for a reason, as a survival instinct to not be cast out of the tribe. The things we're ashamed of we often don't have much control over, but the feeling of shame itself is a survival instinct in our animal brain and will never go away. All social animals have the capability of feeling shame. It most definitely isn't a social construct. It's a part of Universal Law
@@cutlascalpurnio1593 in your example the fat person would feel guilty that they are eating the sweets, and ashamed that they couldn't control themselves and not eat them. They go hand in hand and rarely occur without each other and it's almost a distinction without a difference. It's what the term "nuance" was made for.
@@tenderlungs2065 maybe you're right but I still see shame as something related to the self and guilt as something related to an specific action or event. Shame and stigma are guiderails that many in society need because not everyone can see cause and effect. To have no shame or stigma is moral relativism which means no morality.
@@AntiDecepticonCampaign It's all part of the same process and none of it is bad when applied appropriately. Feeling guilt or shame for actions that will have negative consequences IS NOT a bad thing. When we removed those guide rails because of moral relativism the west got real ugly real fast. And now many folks say the answer to that is more relativism which is nonsense. And stereo typing is a normal human thought process. Everyone does it and its how we learn to handle a number of things in life. It's only bad when you leave it unchecked. The social programming has been going on so long now we have 3 generations of people that think many of the facets of humanity that built society are negatives. Which is why society is now falling apart.
Shame is a tool that is used within society by groups or individuals or governments to undermine another individual to conform to an open or hidden agenda, guilt comes from having a conscience and failing to live up to your own standards or believing that you could do better or making a poor decision, i work in social care so yea, making sure you did your best is the best way to go and not feel guilty because you could not alter a situation that you have no control over.
The modern idea that "shame" is something that needs to be abolished or removed from society is the actual root of societies current ills. The avoidance of "shame" is what actually enforces a moral code or standards in society and removing it allows for hedonistic and immoral behavior that almost never ends well in the long run.
It works like this - You are guilty, so you are ashamed and open to be shamed. Guilt is a normal process, and shame is a step further in the process. Only then can you move onto accepting responsibility and changing your behavior.
Good questions, and pretty good answers. A couple that stood out to me: 1. Yes, I fully beleive that a mans duty should be to protect and provide, especially for the ones he loves. Ao the notion that a man can stand by idely, be disrespected, and simply accept thag when he COULD do something about it, sickens me. 2. Gay men are inherently more feminen. Have you seen the way they move? How they act? How they speak? What masculine men, is interested in taking *in* another man from behind? Now that is not to say that gay men are incapable of being masculine. After all, spartains took younger men all the time. And those guys are as tough as they get. 3. Men are more affected by shame than women. Men hold each other to a high standard. Don't let others see you cry. Don't allow people to walk all over you. Do not allow yourself, or your girl to be disrespected. Protect those you love. Keep yourself in good shape. These are traditional values that society has placed on men. Failure to fufill some of these values makes us lose respect. Women have no such burdens to bear, ESPECIALLY today, other than to be decent, and be chaste, maybe even build a home (optional). Women are not expected to protect. They are allowed to cry freely, they're not expcted to work as hard. They have not taken on masculine roles, they have just been given their benifits, while being relieved of accountability for both roles. The fact that they are allowed to "wear their shame as a badge of honor" shows that shame isn't really working on them at all. But you shame a man for being 300 pounds, and he loses his respect? Best beleive he will make an attempt to better himself.
Freedom is NOT chaos and absence of rules and expectations. Atheism and Satanism both have no moral absolute, everything is subjective in their belief, hence do what thou wilt. You can tell “It’s Complicated” doesn’t have children and a family like that. With moral objectivity, you have to stand by and push (or enforce) standards of morals and expectations.
I love the woman says "If you worded like that" when he literally caught her in a "Gotcha itch!" moment with the religion vs conservative vs feminist question.
Am sick of hearing people Islam is elevating women over men , They can't prove their claims yet they still say this BS. Islam doesn't make men above women nor make them equal. Islam shows that both are different and each one has their purpose and role.
This is one of those situations where understanding historical context changes everything. When people would punish they would do so with the back of their dominant hand and when they would give blessing they would do so with their Palm. Turning the other cheek what is a strategic way of forcing a person to give their blessing and reconsider their actions. By holding firm enforcing the second strike rather than standing your ground and directing your gaze back to the person striking you. You present the other cheek forcing them to try and strike you the opposite direction which would in turn be them giving their blessing.
The POOR MANS PODCASTER JUST DOESN'T MISS.. He is capable of addressing an issue from an objective perspective, as opposed to the majority of people that have a tendency to react based upon their perception, which is driven by their emotions. Case in point, shame is a necessary component in any FUNCTIONAL SOCIETY because it is an effective tool of social control that provides guard rails against immoral and unwanted behavior that can be detrimental to societal longevity and functionality. In short, without shame, society WILL disintegrate into debauchery and immorality. Indeed, this is evident throughout the history of mankind 's civilization and CANNOT BE REFUTED. Keep up with the good work on your podcast and disregard the naysayers who are hell bent on maintaining a worldview predicated upon ignorance and subjective perceptions.
Spot on with the religion stuff. I don't consider myself religious but with the decline and absence of organized religion in the west you can see the sense of community and culture that came along with it was replaced by material-driven social media and people became bankrupt for values. Ties back to lack of shame which you mentioned.. shame was provided by organized religion in the past.
Bruh, when I was young I couldn’t wait to mingle with women and now that I’m growing into being a man (32) I realize time is spent better for the most part from a distance lol. Of course I’ve had great times with women and want more but I’m also aware that very little of your effort must be given to them cause a man can’t afford to grow with women affecting him. The mind doesn’t need that cloudiness
26:50 I've noticed that "It's Complicated" channel has an anti-Christian leaning in a few of these videos. I think due to his location, he rarely finds any religious or Christian person who adequately presents their beliefs in response to his questions.
My last gf was nice looking and a rocking body, worked hard, no addictions, etc. Once we had some conversations about our past, I got a really strong feeling that she had a high body count. We never recovered - mainly bc it made me nauseated. That was 5yr ago and I haven’t dated since even though I have unlimited options. It absolutely makes a difference ladies (and men) - if you’re not selective on who you swap fluids with, don’t complain when someone is turned off by it. 🤷🏼♂️
Shame is good..becouse it acts as a strong Deterrent. To help people do not repeat the same mistakes that other people do. It can also be a strong. motivator to do better and fuel to improve yourself. Having felt the shame of a situation to never, ever wanna go through with that again, you make the hard decisions necessary to make your life better.
Shame is to make you think about your actions before doing them. Guilt is to make you feel bad for something you should have not done. Shame is like the laws, think about the consequences before the actions to prevent harming others.

Yes of course.@@lfcbpro
Just for those curious, similar to what TPMPR said: Guilt is a feeling you get when you did something wrong, or perceived you did something wrong. Shame is a feeling that your whole self is wrong, and it may not be related to a specific behavior or event.
It doesn't have to be even close to that drastic. 🤣 Shame is the things you try to hide that you feel guilty about, while guilt is the things you couldn't hide. Whether words, actions or anything else. They are both survival instincts
@@tenderlungs2065 A good example in my opinion would be a person feels guilty when he eats a lot of sweets and shame when he has obesity.
Interesting point you brought of shame being an evolutionary mechanism to avoid damaging social relationships. I guess it could be similar to pain and physical damage to our own bodies.
Shame is equivalent to Respect.
Once you lose Shame, you lose respect.
Nice
Yep
That's one of the least informed explanations I've ever seen stated. Read my response that I posted regarding the difference between GUILT AND SHAME, please. I'm more than confident that you, along with everyone else who approved of your comment, will be greatly enlightened.
@jamestaggart2955 We said similar things.
Mine was in fewer words.
Yours was in more detail.
I don't think I need to explain the meaning of Respect for you to understand what I wrote.
@omeralshuttary1082 Your statement that there is an equivalency between SHAME and RESPECT is ludicrous. Indeed, shaming someone 😒 is demonstrating a LACK OF RESPECT and disapproval for their behavior. I will assume that is what you are attempting to convey; however, you inadvertently did not state it correctly.
Guilt is what you feel when you treat someone poorly. Shame is what you feel when your parents find your only fans
Shame is what you feel when you find out your mom's only fans got you through college.
Saw the time on this video and wondered is this the right channel? 😂
Right? I was like “WHAT?! 54 minutes!? Is this a compilation?” 😂😂
Imagine fellas, were carrying potential geniuses in our sacks rn and half the product of that sack that survives the egg doesn't need us. I love being alive and I only learned that enjoyment thru Christ and I choose to believe women will come around....please? 😂😂
Not gonna happen this late in the story we are towards the end.
@rtruth7002 I don't like this truth buddy 😆😆

33:26 most women were content with not voting as they had other structures in which they participated in society. Community organization usually got rich people to hand over dollars that supported the community more effectively than our government does things today in many ways. Women today have a hard time understanding that yet many of them don't seem to recognize how much a product of propaganda they are.
Always entertained by your content, it's awesome!
Same ! It shows how out of world women really are an educating us men on what to look out for 🙌🙌🙌
@@Cov930 You responded to a bot my boy, they steal real people's comments and like bot their stolen comment to hopefully get people to click the shady link in their bio, an easy way to identify these bots is by their profile picture and bio, their accounts also tend to be recently created, you can report them by selecting the three dots next to their comment and pressing report
What you said between the 29:23 second mark and 30:45 was spot on and some guys don't realize that if you want her to be nasty she's going to come with trauma most good girls don't have much experience based on what you as a man think you want or see in p*** I figured that out you have to be willing to teach her and be patient with her because she's not a freak especially if she's a good girl
Glad to see you back! A longer form video is a nice added bonus. Keep up the good fight.
Remember anyone who celebrates evil by defending it or a B.S. explanation like there in Congress are not the people you want around in your life.......Keep it based PMP!
16:30 not going to lie i thought you said "mines" at first lmfao and thought "yup that would work" 😂
Guilt is realization or acknowledgment of that you ha e done or doing something wrong.
Shame is the feeling that something you may have done wrong is being or going to be judged.
need more of these man dont hold back
i was that weird lookin emo kid in the video 🙏🏽 your views on everything i completely respect man, you changed the way i looked at things a lot , i answered these questions with the pressure of friends being around em and not wanting to come off rude so i really came off as a snowflake 😭 soemthing i definitely have to work on
Perfect explanation of guilt n shame
Brother, thanks for the "trn the other cheek" clarification. Big W pro max on this one.
I loved this video! Please make more long form content 🤍.
Outstanding video man, well worth the wait!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 keep bringing that fuego 🔥 because possibly it’ll be these videos that bring back morals shame pride in one’s culture and other things vital to society such as religion.
Your explanation of shame vs guilt was SO GOOD and SO spot on!! I will definitely be locking that one in my mental databank lol 🙌💯🔥
You don't need shaming you need shunning.
Self discipline and real education.
And above all the government keeping its nose out !
PMP, thank you. Your videos helped me out and made me a better man that I knew I could be. Thank you so much and I appreciate you and your content. I hope you and your family have many blessings.
I really appreciate the journey you’re on, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
The lil rant was great, alot of people don't realize how difficult and how much discipline truly being Christian comes with
I have watched a few of your videos and you always bring thought provoking content, thank you! On another note, I stopped dating women because of their very silly, confusing and illogical ideas, superiority complex, victim clamming, "I can do no wrong and I don't need to grow, I'm perfect how I am, and you have to be okay with it!" These type of women and men refuse to grow and better themselves and take responsibility for all they do and say and what they don't do and say.
shaming is a traditional social norm, a normative stabilizer/good
Don’t even need to watch to know it’s a banger
Wasn't a banger. He's not smart enough and doesn't understand what guilt and shame are himself
Shame and stigma are guiderails that many in society need because not everyone can see cause and effect. To have no shame or stigma is moral relativism which means no morality.
Stigma is the bad side of shame not a guardrail. Stigma is more close to stereotyping.
Tolerance is not a virtue!
Back from Kenya with more fire! Great content and inputs!
Thank you for the longer video 🙏🏽
The modern idea that "shame" is something that needs to be abolished or removed from society is the actual root of societies current ills. The avoidance of "shame" is what actually enforces a moral code or standards in society and removing it allows for hedonistic and immoral behavior that almost never ends well in the long run.
It works like this - You are guilty, so you are ashamed and open to be shamed. Guilt is a normal process, and shame is a step further in the process. Only then can you move onto accepting responsibility and changing your behavior.
When your in a position to influence young minds that's when your actions should be judged and potentially shamed.
Would like some clarification on the whole gay conversion thing early in the video? No judgment, no pettiness. Just looking for sources
Glad to hear from you PMP. Hope it's all been good.
Missed your vids bro, good to see. Much love from Amsterdam and keep up the great work. God bless and wishing well to the family.
Guilt is when you think you did something wrong. Shame is when you think you are a bad person
Yeah, I feel like the individuals are using the word shame as a verb but real shame is an internal feeling that you are inherently wrong
0:29 She doesn't make any SENSE & thinks low value as far as patriarchy & men
Good questions, and pretty good answers. A couple that stood out to me:
With moral objectivity, you have to stand by and push (or enforce) standards of morals and expectations.
great video and commentary. glad you had fun on the trip as well... you were missed...
Guilt is you holding yourself accountable, and shame is a way for others to hold you accountable.
I love the woman says "If you worded like that" when he literally caught her in a "Gotcha itch!" moment with the religion vs conservative vs feminist question.
Thanks to the algorithm that make me found you man, this post make me follow you.
A good choice and an amazing words from you commenting it. 👏👏👏
Am sick of hearing people Islam is elevating women over men , They can't prove their claims yet they still say this BS. Islam doesn't make men above women nor make them equal. Islam shows that both are different and each one has their purpose and role.
Shame and judgment are 2 separate things. Shame is supposed to keep u from judgment.
Back to the basics I see 💪🏾. Great content brother
40:50 wow. Spot on man. That’s wild. So glad I watched this. Great video
I listen to these young people and my fathers best quote comes to mind. "Shut up!"
Guilt is knowing you did something wrong, shame is getting caught at something you did that was wrong
It's generally incels shaming other incels. It's people who are incels trying to project it on others as a means to demean them.
An EXCELLENT video, my brother! Nice work and thank you!
I've missed your content, welcome back
I missed your vids so damn much keep it up🔥
Aye... You always have thoughtful and insightful videos. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Reasonable introspective, OG.

Shame is born from from Pride
Guilt is born from Principle
I've watched many of your videos. This is the Best one that I've seen so far. Do more in depth videos like this.
Love the long-format VIDEO keep it up Gang
Someone can't make you feel guilt but someone can make you feel shamed
wrong
guilt: you are factually wrong
shame: your conscience is accusing you
The POOR MANS PODCASTER JUST DOESN'T MISS..
Hit or miss I guess he never miss
@@danielcain8136 Stating the obvious, eh??? It's all good 👍
Spot on with the religion stuff. I don't consider myself religious but with the decline and absence of organized religion in the west you can see the sense of community and culture that came along with it was replaced by material-driven social media and people became bankrupt for values. Ties back to lack of shame which you mentioned.. shame was provided by organized religion in the past.
As a guy that has done street interviews in sooo afraid to let anyone hold my mic lol
Shame is to guilt as anxiety is to stress. One is justified- the other is self-made
26:50 I've noticed that "It's Complicated" channel has an anti-Christian leaning in a few of these videos.
Love the long form video!!! Think we could maybe get one or 2 of these a month???
Shame is good..becouse it acts as a strong Deterrent.
To help people do not repeat the same mistakes that other people do.
It can also be a strong.
motivator to do better and fuel to improve yourself.
Having felt the shame of a situation to never, ever wanna go through with that again, you make the hard decisions necessary to make your life better.
Shame is to make you think about your actions before doing them.
Guilt is to make you feel bad for something you should have not done.
Shame is like the laws, think about the consequences before the actions to prevent harming others.
0:45, you nailed it like a Boss
Boundaries and standards where does that line appear it's different for everyone isn't it?
Shame can be internal. When you think people are always judging you
Shame needs to make a comeback.
Yes shame and guilt are different but shame can also be used as a positive critique
Shame is the public enforcement of cultural norms. Guilt is the internal struggle you feel when you violate your own personal morals.
Man. The logo on the bottom right is so nice. I love how It PMP but can also be seen as MVP.
