Not a phone to be seen - those were the days......
Ive seen them at least 15-20 times-have taken my children and all different people -their shows are an experience and heartfelt ❤️
Lucky !! I have seen them 3 times. I am 64 now and I really hope I get to see them 1 more time.
Is it a competition?
U2 (like no other band) take me to somewhere that I’d imagine being religious must be like. The absolute energy, shared right through a venue, whether it’s an indoor arena or a stadium
Dude... I was 18. Jesus had just saved me and I now knew the Truth. I was watching my Lakers playing/winning the NBA Finals and they played this at halftime. Was a glorious surreal moment. God reigns forever. And 💘 Kobe
Saved by jesus? 😂 mygod why cant you think straight man tf... weird americans
Amen brother, this is music
Michael you are so right God does reign forever. Love from down under
Did they make the super ball? Where's it at this year? Good luck 👍 💓
My friend, Kobe forever
When Larry hits that first bass note on Streets, it sends shivers down my spine. Sublime moment.
Except, of course, that it's Adam on bass. Duh.🙄
Larry's the drummer.
Yes
in my opnion this is the best song ever made. top 1 of all. Huge thanks to my dad, cause he was the one who introduced me this amazing band
Home is where the heart is . My heart is still decking shattered .
Welcome to the club 🎵
Hearing this song in concert is in my bucket list. Gives me chills 🤟
Love this song ..bad in my opinion is there best song
This was how concerts were.....no phones recording.... just the band , the crowd and awesome music. The memories still there in your mind like it was yesterday.
I totally agree! I thought the same now i listening to! Greetings from Brazil!
And your phone helps you to experience it again!

U2_ best band on the planet. Whether it's a 20,000 capacity arena or a 80,000 stadium, they make it like they're playing in your living room. Nothing beats one of their gigs. These tracks embody their sheer intensity on stage. Just brilliant. Saw this tour the day after Bono had to bury his father. Slane Castle August 25 2001. He told us to make as much noise as possible because he didn't want to let his dad down. What a day that was. Happy times. Little did we all know what lay ahead for New York the following month.
Peter Green U2 is the best band ever!!!!!!!
Yes,they are the best band since the 1970s. Best band ever remains the Beatles.
@@llfaxon5841... always magic !!! Tanks a lot
yes of course, and the carism of Bono is unbelievable
Wow, tempest fugit as the Romans would of said
If I had a time machine I would go this concert...repeatedly.
Joey Gonzalez So would I!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at these shows and I can honestly say this really was their peak. After the bombastic neon sensory overload of the mid to late 90's and Popmart, U2 stripped it down and bared their soul on this tour. Bonos Dad's death, among other events and just the time in history when it took place, they captured their artistry so brilliantly and with amazing tenacity. These Boston shows in 2001 were nothing short of a religious experience. Never again will a band hit this height and hit it with such emotion blindingly beautiful pathos.
Apposite comparison! Bono labeled these shows as a "spiritual" experience too. Hard to say what the difference to a merely aesthetic experience is exactly (beyond the conviction that "there's a God") . I guess it is the conviction that you witness an authentic expression of life itself not only of four individual musicians and some listeners. You get carried away by something much bigger than yourself, something we are all part of. Something fascinating, full of power and beauty. Maybe something divine.
In terms of vocal performance, the Elevation era is very much worse than 8 years before and much worse than 8 years after.
Well said 👏
@@SaiAbitathaDUCIC Have to disagree. At least for the "Live at Slane Castle" performances, Bono seemed freed by his grief over the recent loss of his father. He never sang better than during those shows, and the band never sounded tighter. Easily among the most brilliant live performances ever filmed.
@@antman8887 i mentioned vocal performance, that includes vocal power, range, smoothness of the voice, etc.
During elevation era, Bono had more emotion, but his voice was not as good, it would crack while singing the higher registers, thanks to smoking. After that, he drastically improved and accordingly to my observation, was really good from 2006 to 2014, peaking once in late 2016 and again from 2011 to 2014.
My son is in the army and he knows streets is my favourite u2 song while in Iraq he wrote to me and said dad in this town in Iraq guess there r streets with no name so when I play it I think of him
Hope your son is safe. Had the same feeling in Afghanistan. Greetings from France.
@@scottmacduff9613 why did you say that
That's so rude
Brave lad. I hope he's ok.x
Awesome
There are many of them but I think this is U2’s finest moment ❤️
@@Campingfreunde-Speyer - Gonna go with Camping guy, here. The transition from “All I Want…” to “Streets” at Slane Castle is beyond magic.
@timdake I'd agree but the guy chucking water at bono slightly ruins it 😂
@@noradosmithmy buddy threw a lighter at him later in show. The booze was flowing that day/night in Boston
Just phenomenal...words fail me! I wish the guys would return to this era of their music-making.
Yes!! There is absolutely no words , They are just the best!! I've been listening to them since 1983, there music has helped me through so so much, Thank you U2
Age, takes us all...
@@lisaforte4347 Totally agree...me too!!
How would that be possible?
What a POWERFUL Performance!!! I LOVE U2 so MUCH!!!!!
Yes! Nothing like them, They are the best!
Just here before I walk into work! This performance is my motivation to start my day off right. Nearly 2 decades since this performance and I have watched it and listened to it (NOT KIDDING) over 200 times! It still hits me like it did the first time I watched it. The GOOSEBUMPS, the chills, my eyes start to water and I just get lost in greatness!! Larry Mullen Jr. is such the General on those drums!!! God Bless the greatest band I have ever had the pleasure of listening and seeing perform music!!! Thank you, U2!!
Well said. I couldn't agree more. This is legendary & inspiring
Totally agree mate.
The base intro to WTSHNN is epic! Most iconic rock song. My motivation song! Bad is most underrated song!
The bass was created with a piece of equipment, called a Moog Taurus bass Pedal.
That moment at 7:38 when everything explodes over that long vocal note... damn. Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. What a way to end a show!
6:30 does it for me when the crowd realises, hey, it's on here!
10:40 love this part.
Yup, those floodlights get me every time! I never get tired of hearing them play WTSHNN live.
It doesn’t matter what version of WTSHNM I hear/view just moves every fibre in me. Makes me cry, feel a sense of joy there is no greater sense of all emotions when this song is played❤❤❤❤
My best friend died in 2000 at 27 yrs old and I still ain't over it- he used to come pick me up to go to the beach and would blast "streets" intro to let me know he's downstairs-crying as I write this
I remember going to U2 concerts and having these outer body experiences - Totally high on the U2 musical experience - No drugs required.
I saw these guys first in the War tour, but the Joshua Tree tour was life altering. Streets was the closest thing to being in church for me. Saw this for the first time in JFK stadium in Philly with 100,000 people, in 1987. I was buzzing for the whole show. Saw them again in 2017.
Saw them in Boston on the Joshua Tree Tour. Was driving near the Garden when WBCN announced the two shows. Parked wherever I could( got a ticket) and jumped in line. Back then pretty much cash only and had just enough for two tix. If I remember correctly they were probably $12 each! That show was one of the best I’ve been to.
Sin duda uno de los tres mejores conciertos de U2. Vivan los U2 y la ciudad de Boston
The inspired moment when Bono is running around the heart shaped stage is brilliant and really touching.
Whoever filmed this did an outstanding job. The atmosphere of the transition from one song to the next is the intimate atmosphere of a club, not an arena.
Best u2 concert ever. TO BE PLAYED FULL BLAST LET ALL THE NEIGHBOURS ENJOY IT TO.
music is my drug und U2 is my dealer
Yoy need to listen to Live in the city of light Stephan.
Stephan Menke Mine too
Love it
Oh so true for myself as well
Stephan , sai apprezzare chi trasmette valori, sentimenti, stati d'animo supremi. Rimani così! Grazie.
Wow......this brought back some much needed good memories for me....used to play drums on cover versions of both these tunes in a band when I was much younger than I am now. Getting much older now, ok my time isn't up just yet, but I'm definitely getting older, the bones are creaking and my youth is a distant memory. But.....for a few minutes at least, listening to this, for a moment I feel young once again! ☺
Stuart Jeffries wow is right .. Amazing
I hear you u buddy but still give it loads when u2 are playing on tv kids think I am nuts and say sit down old man
I agree completely. I remember this tour. I saw them twice, they were and still remain amazing. I cannot get enough of them. And yes it does send me back to my youth. I feel old, when I especially watch videos from zoo and Joshua tree tour.
Cobra wise, u2 is my drug and therapy. When I listen or watch them. I get eyerolls from my kids.
StuartJefferies Young at heart and keeping moving, playing etc...this is medicine💖🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵
Streets have no name reaction is proof that the human soul is hungry to connect with it's creator...knowingly or unknowingly! Bono gives a beautiful dedication of song to His God! ❤🙏🦋
Bad_40_ Streets. It simply doesn't get better than this.
The generosity & uncelebrity kindness this man has! He honestly loves the fans. The ultimate human being!
Yo pienso que la gente que le gusta U2 son buenas personas, como ellos!!!!
Hay un dicho que dice: Eres lo que lees y escuchas.
Dear U2 thank you for writing Bad. Such a beautiful song.
+Dena Morehouse Untouchable
That song has gotten me through hard times and inspired me for decades. A reminder to be awake.
This is my favorite u2 song. Hits deep. My brother feels the same way.

I've watched this performance so many times on the Boston DVD. It is one of the most epic and legendary performances I have ever seen. Truly inspiring, Goosebumps all over and nothing even comes close to this. This is Rock's finest hour. U2 is the greatest band of all time, especially live. I've seen them 21 times. No other concert that I have been to comes close. I would say the Elevation & Vertigo tours are their finest. I have to say that Innocence and Experience was very good too. My first U2 concert was Joshua Tree. Bono was amazing and so was the rest of the band and I instantly became a lifelong fan.
Agreed. For decades I've always come back to this. Something completely perfect and spiritual about that transition between the songs.
It plunges into darkness and comes back into light. The crowd almost seems to push it themselves.
Of course it was all staged to feel that way, but man, what a feeling.
Best Version Of Where The Streets Have No Name Best Show Elevation Live From Boston 2001
I'll never find the right words to describe my feelings towards the best ever existing music band in the world ( and I'm quite eclectic on music taste,) but this Boston concert was " the concert". Long live U2
Flying Dutchman I agree with you 100 percent!!!!!!!!! U2 is the BEST BAND ever!!!!!!!!
Best live ever . BOSTON 2001
Watching this to lift my spirit today. I need it. Thanks U2
This is, as always, a perfect performance of this profesional musicians: Adam, Larry Jr, Bono and The Edge... outstanding!!!...
When I was little I used to listen to u2 love from Boston and run around the living room pretending I was bono, that was 15 years ago
Me too I made all the chairs disappeared from the living room and made the stage.
Captain Carl
I still do that, age 35.
It seems like yesterday ..
I'm a wide awake now awesome
Remote control as the mic
Was at this show …. They announced that Where the Streets would be aired live during NBA Finals…crowd was electric all night but those first few chords of Where The Streets started and the place just EXPLODED. Goosebumps every time I see it.
No phone camera, the crowd just enjoying the moment.
Now : 65% of the crowd had phone camera :(
I notice the same shit bro. Lol
I was at the show in Albany a week before this one and can't find any videos of it on UA-cam. No phones then like now. They recorded this video as part of the official tour video for the DVD which I purchased (in a store, not Amazon!!) Times have changed and not necessarily for the better.
Without a doubt the greatest live band of all time. No one does it like them
U2 is my religion !!!!!!! They are such an amazing band!!!!!!! I love them so much I have seen them in concert 3 times and every time was awesome!!!!!! I hope I get to see them 1 more time at least!!!!!!!!!
and that was 14 years after rattle was recorded. they still got it
These guys are fantastic in concert...I saw them on their Joshua Tree tour in '87 and they played "One Tree Hill" I can still hear and see it in my mind's eye; I've had a few dreams about that night as well. It remains my all-time favorite U2 track, without question.
I have seen U2 seven times and this song live, is a religious experience.
Bad or streets have no name???
@@Dave-om4pg Streets
Saw them that same tour, a cpuple months before 9/11, at the Meadowlands in NJ and it was a similar performance, i remember just crying cheering n singing.
In 1985 I heard them for the first time since then became one of my favorite and I listen Bad hundreds of times and never get tired of it is a piece of art. Forever and ever.
Oh my goodness, How I enjoy their music. The most talented group I have ever heard. Each one of them is so ery talented in what they do. All together they are wonderful. Si ng and play on U2. You are just the greatest!!!!
Long live U2. The gr8est band ever. Peace love & justice. Peace will win the war. Peace.
This song relates to everyone's life out there in the mean Streets of the city I love this song.
7:30 - 7:40 is my favourite music filmmaking moment ever
Of all the shows I've seen, this is my single most favorite experience. It's not often I'm in a place where that many people are joyous at the same time.
it was the same in Sao Paulo in 2017. Thirty years later 78000 people all lost in music. Electrifying, goose pimples each and every time I hear these tracks. So blessed to have experienced them live. Thank you U2.
U2 best band ever seen in the world 🌎 God bless them 💖
I want to run, I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside
I wanna reach out and touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel sunlight on my face
I see that dust cloud disappear without a trace
I wanna take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name, oh oh
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there, I go there with you
It's all I can do
The city's a flood
And our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled into dust
I'll show you a place
High on the desert plain
Where the streets have no name, oh oh
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there, I go there with you
It's all I can do
Our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh and I see love
See our love turn to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do
Tribal dance with their feathered headwear when I hear this song especially your vocals the Lord's Indigenous people in North America

Bono always says something before really singing the song. Is it just an improvise song coz damn, the guy's a genius oh man.. Love U2 😘
Emily Weirdnez So do I sooooooo much!!!!!!!!!
It was after Live Aid they awake, to become a giant of a band.
LOVE THESE SONGS ,🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤
What a powerful song!!!. Thanks U2!!
Hello,I have liked U2 for a several years now.I always find new meaning in their songs, whenever I listen .
The Edge is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. There are a lot of great players out there... But he is a guitar magician!!!
He does a little too much chugging and arpeggio!! Still great!@
@@jenniferdow5733 Maybe... But that's what I like about his style. Simple arpeggios and percussion. Not a lot of warp speed fret board fingering, string bending, or whammy bar diving. Just amazing tone and rhythm. GOAT? Maybe not. But definitely unique.
@azcharlie2009 Grand my friend, you know your stuff. I think he does have his own style indeed! I think David Gilmour, may be his idol?? He Mr.Howell "Edge" has grand talent, no doubt. He may not use all the gear which is cool! I love ❤️ their very old stuff from the early 80's!!
How does it get any better than this???? Amazing

Goose bumps and tears each and every time *sniff*
the most beautiful song of u2
All these years later and this still moves me to tears. My late brother and I both loved this version. If only I'd made the effort to go to their show in 2019 interstate with him. . . too late now but will always have the shared joy this sequence brought us.
I saw the show in Albany a week or so earlier. During the Boston show he gives a shutout to Albany because he was sick during our show. You would have never known it and I didn't until I watched the tour video they made at this show in Boston.
larry's got the timing of a lovely swiss watch!!!! the man"s got rhythm
