My 4-year-old granddaughter loves this song....a week after hearing it for the first time, she says "I want to hear Love Alive...Gary Wright!" Five years later, she requests it all the time! Timeless!

@jerrycox4435 that is awesome. I share a similar story. I saw Gary Wright in Toledo in 1976, a few months later I had a last minute blind date to an Aerosmith concert at the sports arena. In 1977 we married and will celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary in November. Keep on rockin!

My older brother was a huge fan, when he would come home from leave in the Army, Gary was always blaring out of his car windows.
Just heard of Gary's passing. His Dream Weaver album ermagawd so good. I came to youtube to grab a video "my love is alive" for my Facebook page. Now I see you've done this listen segment which I'll put in my comment section. Classic mellow yet sexy pop.
And suddenly it's 1976, The USA's Bicentennial year, and it's 76 cents to get in on Wednesdays at the Pirate's Cove Skating Rink in College Park, FL... Isn't it amazing how much better the music from the previous century is so much better than what they call music today? One of my favorite Gary Wright tunes is " Water Sign " from the 1977 album The Light of Smiles. Appreciate your reactions!
Another great song from the greatest time in recording history, the mid 70's, Gary was also in a band in the late 60's early 70's called "SPOOKY TOOTH"

Please do more Peter Gabriel!!! I recommend "Big Time", "Digging in the Dirt", "Steam", and especially his duet with Kate Bush, "Don't Give Up". Oh, and "In Your Eyes" (the live version is incredible).
I remember being 7 years old at a little pool club, and hearing this almost every time I was there. Someone working there played the same 10-15 song playlist over the PA every day. The echo in the song was enhanced by it reverberating off all the concrete walls, floors and pavement, giving Love Is Alive even more of a dreamy shimmer to it.
Rest in Peace!! Gary Wright! I was listening to his song on Friday on the radio. Thanks to Wayne's World's movie, I was introduced to this song in the early 1990s.

Not sure if you’re a Bad Co fan, but this bassline mixes perfectly with Bad Co- “Burning Sky”. I always mix em back to back, as the lyrics of both tunes work together as well.
