Wow, the gun... makes one debate on wanting to start magnet fishing. Kinda scary to say the least. Our area has had a lot of shootings. So who knows how many guns are in our waters.
I remember when you put holes in the ice there , I Have seen that cool video .... seen that Ages ago but it's timeless in its own right meaning that if I was to rewatch it it would not be anything less than the quality that still was back then and in return watched in the future is still as good now.

I don't know where you live but are not all policemen suppose to be respectfull when dealing with the public?
Wouldn't surprise me with cops around here. People do all sorts of weird outdoor stuff at the water around the great lakes states.

P.S. Actually, that "exponential amplifying" wouldn't happen in real life --- as the narrator-dude points out in a real-life myth-busting experiment (ua-cam.com/video/2Orf3cRRv4A/v-deo.html), each megaphone could only produce a certain volume; a certain-wattage amplifier can still only put out that many watts of power, no matter how strong an input is fed into it. :P

You said that these items were probably both for fishing-bite alerts, so maybe that's why you caught them at the same time; perhaps they had originally been parts to the same item, and then they had just come apart when you pulled them up :D

I actually have one of those exact revolvers. It's a bear river co2 BB revolver, those "shells" have a rubber tip in them the you load the metal BB into, and are completely reusable. The BB gun shoots at around 450fps (feet per second) not a real fire arm. Don't need a license to purchase, won't kill someone unless it's point blank into the eyeball, but still will hurt and break skin to be hit with it. Won't even kill a rat or a crow with it, I've tried countless times.

I did think it was weird that it said it is "not a toy". I mean i don't think I've ever seen a real gun with a warning label like that XD, but yeah, I looked it up. Its like the 4th picture on google images XD
The green item at 07:14 looks like a tamper seal used by customs on shipping containers.
You usually have to cut them in half in order to open the container. The numbers are usually given to the brokers when the container leaves the point of origin so that when it arrives at the destination, you check to see if it has the same number and you would know if someone opened the container before you.
As an ex-customs officer i can confirm this is correct
the police should hire magnet fishers to scour rivers and lakes when they suspect a weapon has been dumped there

Never magnet fished before but you got me interested. When fishing around a dock I’d drag it around the outline of the dock since that’s where stuff would be dropped IMO.
Super cool video, excited to see Dumpster and Fishing videos. The gun I think is a Bear River CO2 pistol. I have the exact same one and knew what it was the moment it came out.
The green coated item is a Seal from a trailer, oversea's tractor trailer containers have them.and are cut off when being opened and unloaded in the States.

I've had 2 cops not follow up with us on guns unfortunately when they said they would. Most departments take them and that's that. I guess they are busy or forget or sensitive information if the guns lead to crimes
@@PointsTravelBuddy I suspect from watching other magnet fishing channels and scuba divers that find guns that it's rare for them to ever get a follow up. Maybe small town bs bigger city plays a part but who really knows.

The green thing found at 7:04 is a shipping container lock that was cut off the door lock handle.
9:28 Easy/cheap way to make a replacement bell-clapper --- outfit a small eye-bolt with a metal washer sandwiched between a couple of nuts tightened against each other at the threaded end of the bolt, then suspend the eye from inside the bell with a bit of leather bootlace. :D
That looks like a smith and Wesson performance center .357 magnum which is a very very expensive firearm.

The green thing is a seal they use on semi trailers that are loaded. The only way to get them off is by cutting them with bolt cutters.

@TheFisher, yes, in case you haven’t noticed yet, that is a Pet Peeve of mine. It used to really drives me nuts coaching little league baseball and trying to get the kids to pick up 100 baseballs during batting practice, it goes by much quicker if you pick up the balls only once. 🤣😂🤣. But I found out about some gloves that are waterproof n you can get for warm weather or insulated for cold weather too! 🧤 Can't wait to get me n the hubby a pr of each cuz I'm sick of wet n cold hands!! 🤷♀️❤

@@TheFisher get a Nemo dive system Tyler n that way u can give diving a try without having to buy a wetsuit, tanks, breathing equipment/mask, etc n take five lessons right off the bat. That way u can still go down a ways n find stuff, but if it's not your thing, you aren't out THOUSANDS of $'s!! 🤿 They really seem like a great gateway to diving n then if ya like it, then you can invest more n you'll still have a Nemo for traveling or short dives. 😉💙💦

It's a pellet gun, the Phillips head screws & the CO2 slot in the grip are dead giveaways, BUT a quick google search of the name on the side of the gun show its a pellet gun.
My dad has one of those metal bowl thing its a magnet bowl for like holding screws when your building something

Yeah I've never seen any real gun that says "this is not a toy". And it looks like no one (including the cop) thought about looking at the size of the bore (how big the hole in the end of the barrel is). That would tell you what it shoots right away.

It's no wonder they throw guns in water as they deteriorate with rust pretty quickly and at that point they are not much a

Unless someone used it to fool someone in a robbery that won't be the case. That's a CO² powered revolver. U can tell by looking at the rear bottom of the grip, there's a thumb screw to tighten CO² cartridges in the grip.

It's a CO2 bb gun.
That bottle opener is what we call, or used to call a 'churchkey' They are collectable 😉 have a few myself. (Not much use for them nowadays 😔)
In case it hasnt been brought up yet, i immediately recognized this as the Black Ops 4in C02 revolver with bb shells. You can clearly see the empty C02 canister chamber inside the handle and the folding screw top that tightens the canister into the handle. Very nice bb gun and usually run anywhere from 60 to 90 bux or more depending on version and barrel length.
I noticed a little spot underneath the handle where you put the CO2 so I spotted that it was a BB gun right off
