Started my collection in 1963, good year to start, in 69 you could still order #1 Spiderman for $10 bought 5 or 6 wish of course I would of bought a lot more. Have entire colllection of Fantastic 4, Daredevil Avengers etc... Stan the man and Johnny Romero. Nice to see you can get some lowgrade good stuff cheap. Have not really kept up with things, last 20yrs. But thinking on going to a Con with my one grandson who will inherit my collection one day. Thanks for motivating me again, I have been lost in metal detecting and coin collecting last 20yrs.😊
That is amazing, your grandson is going to inherit a very sweet collection. Definitely have a ton of fun with him, he will enjoy having the comics even more. Oh and Metal Detecting is a fun hobby!
If it had been possible I would have wanted those two five dollar boxes too. And let´s not even talk about the three dollar boxes. So much good stuff! 🤤😄

I love the Dick Breifer Frankenstein's. He's one of those rare artists whose work looks like no one else's, and the stories are wild.

Haha he meant he would go to me to get one because he knows I have a stack of that issue haha. But I really want to build up this channel so I can start traveling a little for conventions and HeroesCon is definitely near the top of conventions I want to attend. I do love that Frankenstein series the art is very unique and fun. Very different then what you normally saw in that era.
I have a 1945 Duck Briefer Frankenstein #1, It’s a favorite of mine and I’m glad Briefer’s Frankenstein stories are getting more exposure thanks to the recent P.S. Frankenstein reprints.

@@cha5 I knew about Briefer before the reprints. I've been posting his stuff on my Facebook Group for years and remember coverage of his work going back decades in The Comics Journal. But he still doesn't get that much recognition as regards the great Golden Age artists.
Can't wait to see the haul video! Those 2 boxes of Golden Age are going to be fun!
Yeah I cannot wait to take a closer look at all the books, I only spent a few seconds with each one at the con so it will be fun to film them and check them all out.

Some great sci fi art on the star spangled war books and also tales of suspense,you also got a lot of good books from the $5 booth,nice one.What would kill me is deciding what to buy and what to leave,? I'd drive myself insane with being unable to decide haha,enjoyed the post man,thanks
Yeah I absolutely love those The War That Time Forgot issues with the military vs Dinosaur covers. Very striking. You just got to dig pull out as much as you want, then if your budget is limited draft your pile and pull out the ones you want the most. I got crazy though and just buy boxes full sometimes haha

Yeah I wanted to go to King Kong, not sure why they both had shows on the same weekend sorta did not make sense. I got a ton of books for an awesome price so I am happy I went to Big Apple. Plus its like a 20 minute trip for me to get to Big Apple so its my back yard, Jersey Trip would have been much longer and expensive for me. Next time I want to go to King Kong Though.

I saw those books for a second I should have grabbed them for $5 but it was not on my radar to grab. In fact I glossed over them and did not notice until I was editing.

How many total golden age did u get for 1900 dollars? Those are only going to get more expensive . Great buy!
It was 2 short boxes full so probably 250-300
awesome whitching hour #10 very nice black above his head, that area is often scuffed. that was a sweet deal. was it vf or nm? finding those 5, 3 and 1/2 off boxes was huge. not thru with this vid yet but im hoping you dig thru a few 10 dollar boxes still
It had one mark on the top edge in the black so I am thinking vf maybe vf+ though pretty high grade for that book

@@pop-comics noticed you mention it when i got to the end of the vid. watching it now, bout 12 min in. no clue if any of them are worth almost 19 each. but for the age they are in great shape. awesome seeing covers from the 40s. i wonder what the print runs on some of those were especially if they were printed during wwII. very cool so far
Back then those would have been mass produced in the 100s of thousands if not millions. They were consumed though like a hot cup of coffee. Purchased read to death then thrown out. Not many people held onto them.

I filmed this yesterday and it was only really crowded for an hour or two then it thinned out a little. Was also a very rainy day though.

I think it was Kryptonite comics he tends to have some really cool Golden age books up.
