In this video (part 2 of the extrude tools for SketchUp tutorial series), we check out a tool contained in TIG's extrude tools that allows you to create faces from edges, then create extruded glass assemblies from those faces! This can be really valuable for creating complex glass structures and more!

Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
this is like extremely helpful thank you
Glad you liked it!
phenomenal, man. Hats off to you and the creator of this kickass extension. Worth noting that once you click on the curve, the number of segments is what determines how the lattice is broken up, correct? So, unlike most other tools on the extension, the more segments on the curve, the smoother the results, which is not what is aimed for with the Lattice tool. There is another wonderful extension, Bezier curve manager, which allows you to tell the curve how many segments you want on it, and control its points, and number of points.
another great tut.. I need this.. thanks jus!!
Thanks! :)
thanks for you
always a great video.
thanks alot
😎
thanks a lot, love your videos
Glad you like them!
Thanks for sharing. Great for organic roofs. No good for shapes having a spiral path such as a covered pedestrian bridge
thanks a lot
i am in love with your channel
thanks, very good.
why i didn't get the option/question to erase coplanar edges? hope u answer :)
I wonder if future fixes would allow the creation of quads from two railed extrusions.
Do they not right now? I can't remember if they did or not...
@@Thesketchupessentials I was able to do a rails to lattice with for sides (2 profiles, 2 rails) once and it came out as quads. But I'm wondering if it's because of symmetry for both pairs. Tried next time, and I could never get the quad option again.
I can't find the extrusion tool in the extension warehouse, could you pls help ?
Great tutorial! How does one add a door opening and wasn't to add a glass door if we create a curvy/organic glass facade? Is it possible with this extension or possible with any other extension? If possible, how?
You'd probably have to delete out an opening then come back and model the door manually - possibly use the extension "Lattice Maker" when modeling the door back in?
nice! thx
Thanks for watching!
Hey Justin, thanks for a great series. Is it possible/workaround to use the extrusion tools on straight lines? would be great to create some detailed windows in a rush.
Ok, just figured it out just use welded straight edges. Still have the diagonal lattices though... :/
Interesting - I'm going to have to give this one a try!
@@Thesketchupessentials Looking forward to your findings
It's interesting but on a mac if you use the two rails it does ask to remove the coplanar lines...
Interesting - wonder what's different here...maybe I should check for an updated version? Thanks Oscar!
Hi Justin. I was wondering a plugin to make my 2d lines flat. So its easy to make a face
Maybe try something like this - ua-cam.com/video/uRatu9YJzIo/v-deo.html - thanks!
I really wish the "edge" profiles were of double width.
How come when I do it, it just makes dots, and not faces?
Are you using SketchUp 2017, or an older version of the extension? There were some compatibility issues in SketchUp 2017 with the older version...
yes, I have the same problem. so do we have to change the 2017 version to others?
grate
Thanks! :)
Hi where can i get the extrude tools?
suggest me a workstaion configuration suitable for sketchup modeling and enscape
Have you looked at the system requirements on their websites?
Generally, you want a fast single-core CPU as Sketchup only uses one CPU core to model geometry. I would recommend Intel i7 9700K (3.60 GHz) or Intel i7 8700K (3.70 GHz). At least 16 GB for RAM if you run many programs. For Enscape, an average Nvidia GTX graphics card will do. I recommend at least Nvidia GTX 1060 or 1070 anyways in case you might run other rendering platforms or games.
@@Thesketchupessentials yeah i went through them but i would like to hear your opinion and suggesion.
10:08 why i can't do this? i did what you did also copy the line of yours
justib i dont see any change in profiles to rails help please help
I don't understand what issue you're having...
how to find this plug in. also, how to install. tq
It's linked in the notes below the video. It installs like any other extension in SketchUp
