    My 'angry face' is the strongest aspect of my wrister. Thanks for all your videos and friendly accessible advice Jeremy.

    Put sone weight on your bottom hand to generate flex and add snap/power to your shot as well. This can take a while to learn for newer players.

    With this shot, I have good accuracy but I'm not able to use all my power and flex the stick properly. When I do mostly pay attention to power and flexing while I shoot, I lose my accuracy. I did try pulling with the top and pushing with the bottom but it didn't create any flex. I'm 14 and use a 65 flex. Any tips?

      A lot of the power from this shot comes from the legs, the hips, and the shoulder / lower arm dropping into the stick, then finish with the pull / push. It takes practice to get good power because you need a good chain reaction of everything working together. You probably are flexing the stick, it happens very quickly. Record your shot on a phone with good slow motion in 240 fps or more if you can and see if you can notice some flex.

      @@howtohockeytraining Okay, thank you very much for all of this. I'll also try paying attention to using force from legs, hips, and just overall body momentum. I have also tried recording before and I did notice some flex but it was very minor. I'll try using the technique mentioned and just practice and then record and hopefully see some results. Once again thank you!

    ARE YOU A LEFT OR RIGHT BLADE STICK?
    Strange detail I read online: In the U.S., players use their dominant hand in the middle of the stick. In Canada and Europe, the dominant hand is at the top of their stick.

    I struggle big time with lifting the puck and getting it off the ice on my wrist shots.

    • @rainmuaythai
      @rainmuaythai Рік тому +1

      Same, when I first started I was doing it by blind luck. But since I’ve been working on power I lost lift. One thing he didn’t mention that he does in another video is rotating the top hand wrist to open the blade upon release. Wish I had a home setup to practice but it sounds like that’s the key step for puck lift…anyone please correct if I’m wrong.

    • @howtohockeytraining
      @howtohockeytraining  Рік тому

      With good technique the flex happens naturally, it doesn’t need to be forced

    Next to no real insight here and no examples of the shot actually being taken not at close range. All this stuff gets beginners excited and would ultimately have minuscule affect. Make no mistake, there’s no actual instruction on how to shoot so that the puck, you know, has velocity on it from farther than five from the net. Bad job for instruction. Good job for most amount of clicks (ie targeting gullible beginners).
