    We all know what the C9 roster was like and how Zachmazer treated Naughty. Naughty himself said on stream with Alb that he had a lot of bad habits after teaming with Zachmazer for 2 years and it would take time to break, but he was excited with the changes of his new team going forward. Now Lou was not fully prepared to Micro Naughty throughout PL and so his patience rightfully so ran out. But instead of trying to adapt or make constructive criticisms to make things work, he began harping /hyper focusing on Naughtys mistakes and took his frustrations out on him. So here’s the thing that I’m sure Naughty eventually realized himself. Lou did EXACTLY what his previous IGL just did. In reality nothing changed for Naughty. He traded one Zachmazer for another and that’s why his confidence died out. This team needed to take some accountability and work on their own individual bad habits. They came so close to LAN in the hardest meta possible as a new team when they were probably only a few fixes away from being Top 5 in NA.

    • @BruceWayne-wh4of
      @BruceWayne-wh4of Рік тому +31

      I wouldn't say "he traded one Zachmazer in for another", and more so, he "made Lou become another Zachmazer". Cause Naughty proved multiple times throughout the split that he needed to be micro-ed, and refused to improve his overall awareness and macro-knowledge to act as a more independent player.

      If you are the leader of a group, and you tell them to go up, but 1 of them goes left and the other goes diagonally up. Regardless of whether or not going up is the right choice, if your group isn't doing what you, the defacto leader, wants to be done, how can you be sure what the real problem is? There is no opportunity to realize going up is not the right call, because its not being done properly.
      Lou does occasionally admit, he makes mistakes like throws bad utility when Mac brings it up, so he is at least a bit self aware. But I do agree that Lou is the main problem of the group. He wants to be in control of everything, so the slightest deviation in micro, stands out as a problem which is shown by his lack of trust in Naughty and Mac's calls, whenever they make any.

    JHawk, a point to add in the "Naughty vs Lou" perspective, it's important to note that Lou said that he often got angry at Naughty because he felt that Naughty was hyper-fixating on the wrong things. While Lou put hours in every day on his macro, zones, and team building, he got annoyed that Naughty was spending that time in ranked, working on his aim. He knew that Naughty could shoot straight, and the possible 1/4th of a bullet extra per magazine wouldn't make a difference. Therefore, he was more susceptible to getting angry at Naughty because he felt that Naughty had all the time in the world to fix his macro problems, but instead focused on playing ranked to improve his aim, sometimes even at the cost of focus during PL due to a bad sleep schedule.

    • @aaronboothe1842
      @aaronboothe1842 Рік тому +35

      Macro is determined by the igl/coach, so this doesnt really make sense. Naughty, as the roller fragger, is basically only supposed to shoot his gun. So getting his aim perfected is the only goal he really has. Not prioritizing his sleep schedule for pro league is an issue though.

IGL-ing doesn't mean you do all the macro work for their team + microing them when needed to. what a wild team yet makes a ton of sense why it failed assuming from this. Naughty can do no right to the point where he is overthinking and making dumb decisions and feels like a child stuck between 2 fighting parents. Alb is lost between I can IGL under panic and toss my igl experience in vs sitting back and fragging giving immediate self updates when needed. Lou simply wants to IGL and be the leader and has a high demand of those around him to be the best. Sounds like im giving Lou the slide but no, that comes with a couple negatives. One, and this is the only thing I want to bring from past teams with these players, Lou was admittedly cut for lack of drive to play the game. He lack of drive to spend the hours it takes to be the best player and teammate you can be. He has a history of not being the one "showing up for customs". Therefore, from the fun joking side of Sentinels Lou and his previous on and off motivation to really win LAN, it becomes a problem switching gears to this micro-managing high work ethic IGL team leader and then expect these players will follow suit. On top of that, lets be honest, Lou has great moments as IGL from CLG to SEN to LAN, but he needs a ton of work and this video did a great job showing just this team's IGL mistakes. From SEN to CLG Lou has made plenty of mistakes and really needs alot more practice and coaching to get there. I think he also has to learn how to manage his team better. It needs to be a heavy work ethic and discipline team, focused in games at all times. They have to listen to Lou without 2nd thought. Lou cannot get better at IGL with another IGL making his own decisions at the same time. If the QB wants to call the play, the Head Coach wants to call the play, the OC wants to call the play, the receiver has a thought.. you have no offense or identity at all. You choose different weird comps, rotate differently, loot differently, react differently, its just a waste of time.
    All that to say, this team could of grown and this is pretty usual discomfort this early in the team's existence. Sadly, Lou felt his teammates did not have the drive to win he did, I think that lack of Customs work gave him a bad gut feeling before it mattered in ALGS. He then made the decision to end it and here we are. It is a shame. Naughty needs a better defined leader and to listen blindly. Alb needs to pick a side of IGL and train to be that side. Lou to continue as IGL has to learn to be a leader and needs 2 people around him that will work to his level. Everyone knows Michael Jordan's teammates didnt care for him that much, but he made sure they worked as hard as he did and did their job. After that, his job was to finish it, finish the win. Lou needs those teammates IF this Lou is here to stay. Nothing will annoy me more than seeing Lou fall back into half assing his day job right after leaving a team because they essentially half assed cared off stream to grind (according to Lou not verbatim).
    Naughty will be fine, this team dynamic was not for him. Alb has to figure out his identity at some point on a team. He is too dam smart and good at the game to struggle this much. He has to find that team. Lou, honestly, no clue what he will do. In professional sports, what teams need new coaches? Yea, the bad ones.. thats walking into a problem. Not sure what he does, I would consider being a fragger, maybe work controller more, see if a team takes him to be quiet and listen in game.. just shoot the enemies.

He was never rude, took accountability, apologized and kept it moving but Lou kept nagging on his mistakes, when in reality most of the clips you see Lou going down first or not listening to the comms his team is giving him as well. Also, some of the rotations & pushes are very questionable from his part. He needs to work on the way he speaks to his teammates or his comp career is over. Alb handled this gracefully, always stayed mature & calm amidst the whole blame game. Hope to see them succeed individually though

    I watch Alb a lot, he's an amazing gamer, but it must be so frustrating to play with him as an IGL. Has a hard time listening and often does what HE wants and feels is best. There was a ton of issues on this team, but that certainly one of them... And you can say things like they should have listened to Alb here.. but thats not how it works when you have an IGL making a separate call. You can cry about it after if the IGLs call was shit.. but in the moment, it is the teams job to follow the IGLs calls. I personally wish Alb played with someone like Sweet. He could focus on straight fragging and wouldn't have to make many coms at all. When he feels like his IGL is failing, that is when he starts doing whatever he wants and making separate calls over the IGL. That NEVER helps.
    Lou vs Naughty was also real bad, clearly.

You’re 3 people playing with maybe a coach. Getting 3 people on the same page is way easier than getting 20 people on the Same page.
